In this paper, using export coefficient model and RS and GIS techniques, the NPS pollution load of Drainage Basin of Dahuofang Reservoir in the year 2000 was estimated, and its spatial distribution was simulated. Results indicates that the total nitrogen load is 3.90X103 tons, and that of total phosphorus is 1.57X102 tons, in which cropland, Qingyuan County and Xinbin County are important contributories. Analysis on the intensity load of NPS pollution shows that Xinbin County is the highest NPS pollution load areas, and these areas should be paid more attention in the future.

The urban ecosystem is a Social-Economic-Natural Complex consisting of human beings and their surrounding. Because resources and environmental quality are crucial to the existence and development of an urban ecosystem, the development of an urban ecosystem is necessarily built on the basis of interactions among environmental carrying capacity (ECC), resource carrying capacity (RCC) and social-economic development capacity (SEDC). A single component's capacity should not be studied without considering the integrity of the whole system. In this paper, the concept of 'Compound carrying capacity' (CCC) is introduced and studied as an index of the interactions among ECC, RCC and SEDC, as a basis for meeting the challenges of urban sustainable development and eco-city building. Using this index, it is discussed in both theory fundamentals and quantitative models how these three kinds of capacity function to sustain the urban ecosystem. The concept of CCC is introduced to improve the comprehensive understanding of this system's structure and functions. Compared with traditional concepts, the CCC of the urban ecosystem includes the ability to develop and thus is characterized by being more dynamic. This dynamism shows in the ability of cities to respond when put under pressure. Clearly, this dynamic is not endless, both environmental, resource and social-economic development capacities have limits. A comparative study of urban ecosystems and the human immune systems shows that both systems have similar features. Thus, the CCC model is discussed in this paper in light of the biology immunity theory. In this it is assumed that the urban ecosystem is the material input and its main function is to offer eco-services. The extent of these services is dependent on both the intrinsic carrying capacity and the acquired carrying capacity of the urban ecosystem. In the aqueous system of initial pH value of 7.0 through orthogonal test and individual factor test, the optimal operation condition of Fe(II)/S2O82-- S2O32- degrading diuron was determined to be Na2S2O8 concentration 2.0 mmol/L, Fe(II) concentration 1.0 mmol/L, Na2S2O3 concentration 0.5 mmol/L under the condition of reaction time 120 min, 0.1 mmol/L diuron degradation rate reached 91.3%. The sulfate free racial and hydroxyl free radical produced in system were determined by molecular probes (ethanol and tert-butanol) methods, and the reaction mechanism of Fe(II)/S2O82-- S2O32- system produced sulfate free radical was discussed.

Employing S-15 - bio-toilet as the testing device and pulverized bean stalk particles as the conditioner, an experimental study is made on the aerobic reduction and changes of nutrient content of human feces. The index changes of PH value, organic matter, total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP) and total potassium (TK) etc. are measured. The results show that using bean stalks as the bio-toilet conditioner has a good treatment effect. The average decomposition rate of the dry weight of the mixture per week is 37.49% ,and the cumulative decomposition rate reaches 95.23%. In the resulting products, the PH value is 7.2, the total amount of organic matter is 71.02% and the content of TN, TP and TK is 3.72%, 1.53% and 4.71%, respectively. The resulting products can be recycled as an efficient organic fertilizer.

When adequate substrate was provided to biofilm, the oxygen concentration in the biofilm became the only limited factor to the biofilm growth, under this condition, a separated oxygen microelectrode was used as detecting tool to detect the oxygen distribution in the biofilm. Based on the diffusion-reaction equation under the stabilizating condition, biofilm kinetic parameters were calculated by the method of hunting step by step. The results of the biofilm kinetic parameters calculated were qmax=10 mg O2/(gVSS·h), Ko=l2 mg/L. Compared with the activated sladge system, the qmax was smaller and the ko was higher.
