Two-Dimensional Metal-Organic Framework Nanosheets Coated Solid-Phase Microextraction Arrow Coupled with Uplc-Q-Tof-Ms for the Determination of Three Veterinary Residues in Milk and Pork

This study presents a method utilizing solid-phase microextraction Arrow (SPME Arrow) combined with ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) for the selective detection of three veterinary drugs-thiabendazole, sulfamethazine, and clenbuterol-in milk and pork. Two-dimensional metal-organic framework nanosheets (2D-MOFs) were employed as coating materials for the SPME Arrow. Three types of 2D-MOFs (Ni, Mn, and Co based) were synthesized and characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and a physical adsorption analyzer. The 2D-MOF coatings were fabricated using the electrospinning technique, with polyacrylonitrile (PAN) serving as the binder. Comparative analysis of the three 2D-MOF coatings revealed that 2D-Ni-MOF was the optimal coating material for the SPME Arrow. Optimization of the coating preparation conditions and SPME procedures included determining the optimal mass ratio of 2D-Ni-MOF to PAN, electrospinning time, and extraction and desorption parameters. Equilibrium extraction was achieved within 60 minutes, and desorption was completed within 30 minutes. Subsequently, the 2D-Ni-MOF-SPME Arrow-UPLC-Q-TOF-MS method was established and validated under optimal conditions, demonstrating high precision with inter-day precision ranging from 3.8% to 9.5% and intra-day precision ranging from 5.1% to 11.5%. The reusability study indicated that the extraction performance of the new SPME Arrow remained consistent after 90 adsorption-desorption cycles. The method exhibited linearity in milk and pork over the ranges of 0.002–5 μg L–1 and 0.01–5 μg L–1, respectively. The detection limits in milk and pork were 0.001–0.004 μg L–1 and 0.003–0.007 μg L–1, respectively. This method demonstrated excellent applicability for determining residues of the three veterinary drugs in milk and pork. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we investigate the group consensus of coupled harmonic oscillators with multiple leaders in an undirected fixed network. Unlike many existing algorithms for group consensus of multi-agent systems or cluster synchronization of complex dynamical networks, which require global information of the underlying network such as the eigenvalues of the coupling matrix or centralized control protocols, we propose a novel decentralized adaptive group consensus algorithm for coupled harmonic oscillators. By using the decentralized adaptive group consensus algorithm and without using any global information of the underlying network, all agents in the same group asymptotically synchronize with the corresponding leader even when only one agent in each group has access to the information of the corresponding leader. Numerical simulation results are presented to illustrate the theoretical results.

User Identity Protection in EEG-based Brain-Computer Interfaces

A brain-computer interface (BCI) establishes a direct communication pathway between the brain and an external device. Electroencephalogram (EEG) is the most popular input signal in BCIs, due to its convenience and low cost. Most research on EEG-based BCIs focuses on the accurate decoding of EEG signals;however, EEG signals also contain rich private information, e.g., user identity, emotion, and so on, which should be protected. This paper first exposes a serious privacy problem in EEG-based BCIs, i.e., the user identity in EEG data can be easily learned so that different sessions of EEG data from the same user can be associated together to more reliably mine private information. To address this issue, we further propose two approaches to convert the original EEG data into identity-unlearnable EEG data, i.e., removing the user identity information while maintaining the good performance on the primary BCI task. Experiments on seven EEG datasets from five different BCI paradigms showed that on average the generated identity-unlearnable EEG data can reduce the user identification accuracy from 70.01% to at most 21.36%, greatly facilitating user privacy protection in EEG-based BCIs. © 2024, CC BY.

Temporally-Adaptive Models for Efficient Video Understanding

Spatial convolutions are extensively used in numerous deep video models. It fundamentally assumes spatio-temporal invariance, i.e., using shared weights for every location in different frames. This work presents Temporally-Adaptive Convolutions (TAdaConv) for video understanding, which shows that adaptive weight calibration along the temporal dimension is an efficient way to facilitate modeling complex temporal dynamics in videos. Specifically, TAdaConv empowers spatial convolutions with temporal modeling abilities by calibrating the convolution weights for each frame according to its local and global temporal context. Compared to existing operations for temporal modeling, TAdaConv is more efficient as it operates over the convolution kernels instead of the features, whose dimension is an order of magnitude smaller than the spatial resolutions. Further, kernel calibration brings an increased model capacity. Based on this readily plug-in operation TAdaConv as well as its extension, i.e., TAdaConvV2, we construct TAdaBlocks to empower ConvNeXt and Vision Transformer to have strong temporal modeling capabilities. Empirical results show TAdaConvNeXtV2 and TAdaFormer perform competitively against state-of-the-art convolutional and Transformer-based models in various video understanding benchmarks. To investigate the difference in uptake pattern heterogeneity between fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) and fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) PET/CT and the reproducibility of radiomics features with respect to different calculation methods of standardized uptake value (SUV). 210 patients with various tumors were involved. Among the extracted 497 radiomics features, there are only 20 features that exhibited an ICC difference of more than 0.25 between the two tracers when using different SUV calculation methods, revealing the similar influence of SUV calculation methods. In contrast, the ICC values for most texture features were generally lower (0.22-0.39) between FDG and FAPI PET images, indicating a large difference in uptake pattern heterogeneity between the two tracers. Our results demonstrated that the influence of SUV calculation methods on the reproducibility of FDG and FAPI PET features is similar. The uptake pattern heterogeneity characterized by radiomics features between FDG and FAPI PET images is significantly different.

Microgrids subjected to secondary cooperative control encounter significant challenges, including operational constraints and clock drifts, adversely affecting their stability and efficiency. This paper provides conditions that assure optimal microgrid performance in both transient and steady-state scenarios, focusing on the effects of clock drifts and fluctuations in load. Furthermore, we introduce a novel approach for designing secondary control parameters, specifically engineered to minimize steady-state discrepancies attributable to clock drifts while ensuring adherence to standards for transient operations. Comprehensive experimental validations corroborate the effectiveness of our proposed solutions.

Large Language Models are Few-shot Generators: Proposing Hybrid Prompt Algorithm To Generate Webshell Escape Samples

The frequent occurrence of cyber-attacks has made webshell attacks and defense gradually become a research hotspot in the field of network security. However, the lack of publicly available benchmark datasets and the over-reliance on manually defined rules for webshell escape sample generation have slowed down the progress of research related to webshell escape sample generation and artificial intelligence (AI)-based webshell detection. To address the drawbacks of weak webshell sample escape capabilities, the lack of webshell datasets with complex malicious features, and to promote the development of webshell detection, we propose the Hybrid Prompt algorithm for webshell escape sample generation with the help of large language models. As a prompt algorithm specifically developed for webshell sample generation, the Hybrid Prompt algorithm not only combines various prompt ideas including Chain of Thought, Tree of Thought, but also incorporates various components such as webshell hierarchical module and few-shot example to facilitate the LLM in learning and reasoning webshell escape strategies. Experimental results show that the Hybrid Prompt algorithm can work with multiple LLMs with excellent code reasoning ability to generate high-quality webshell samples with high Escape Rate (88.61% with GPT-4 model on VirusTotal detection engine) and Survival Rate (54.98% with GPT-4 model). A fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is designed to achieve course-keeping for mooring shifting system, which is the main system of non self-propelled vessels. Compared with manual operation, the automatic operation and monitoring system with the FLC can perform higher precision and efficiency. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is introduced to optimize the proposed FLCpsilas parameters. A series of simulation studies have been undertaken to compare the performance of a basis FLC and PSO based FLC. The results demonstrate that the latter has the better controlling quality.

A self-supervised learning-based 6-DOF grasp planning method for manipulator

To realize a robust robotic grasping system for unknown objects in an unstructured environment, large amounts of grasp data and 3D model data for the object are required, the sizes of which directly affect the rate of successful grasps. To reduce the time cost of data acquisition and labeling and increase the rate of successful grasps, we developed a self-supervised learning mechanism to control grasp tasks performed by manipulators. First, a manipulator automatically collects the point cloud for the objects from multiple perspectives to increase the efficiency of data acquisition. The complete point cloud for the objects is obtained by utilizing the hand-eye vision of the manipulator, and the TSDF algorithm. Then, the point cloud data for the objects is used to generate a series of six-degrees-of-freedom grasp poses, and the force-closure decision algorithm is used to add the grasp quality label to each grasp pose to realize the automatic labeling of grasp data. Finally, the point cloud in the gripper closing area corresponding to each grasp pose is obtained;it is then used to train the grasp-quality classification model for the manipulator. The results of data acquisition experiments demonstrate that the proposed method allows high-quality data to be obtained. The simulated results prove the effectiveness of the proposed grasp-data acquisition method. The results of performing actual grasping experiments demonstrate that the proposed self-supervised learning method can increase the rate of successful grasps for the manipulator. In clinical practice, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) is a powerful technique for the visualization of blood vessels in X-ray image sequences. Different with traditional DSA image registration processes, in our proposed image registration method, the control points are selected from the vessel centerlines using multiscale Gabor filters, and mutual information (MI) is then taken as the similarity criterion to find the correspondences. Experimental results demonstrate our algorithm efficiently yields satisfying registration result for DSA images.
