In order to extend the visible light response of ZnO, ZnO/CuS nanocomposite with heterostructure was prepared by a simple two-step hydrothermal synthesis. The as prepared ZnO/CuS heterostructured nanocomposite was characterised by SEM, photoluminescence, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. On the other hand, chitosan is considered as a very promising natural biopolymer. It holds not only abundant resource and low cost but also has excellent adsorption properties to a broad range of organic pollutants and some heavy metal ions. To improve the adsorption properties of ZnO/CuS heterostructured nanocomposite, a water soluble chitosan containing carboxyl groups was synthesised with graft copolymerisation. Surface modification of ZnO/CuS heterostructured nanocomposite was carried out utilising the self-assembly process between hydroxyl groups of ZnO/CuS nanocomposite and carboxyl groups of water soluble chitosan. Comparative tests before and after surface modification were performed with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. To examine the surface and interface properties of nanocomposites, chemical prototype sensor arrays were constructed based on ZnO, ZnO/CuS nanocomposite, and ZnO/CuS nanocomposite modified with chitosan containing carboxyl groups and quartz crystal microbalance devices. The adsorption response behaviours of the sensor arrays to some typical volatile compounds were examined. The results indicated that, with comparison to ZnO nanostructure, the ZnO/CuS nanocomposite exhibited enhanced adsorption properties to some typical volatile compounds dramatically, and the effect of one layer modification on the surface adsorption properties of ZnO/CuS nanocomposite is also very evident and useful, which provides a microenvironment of biocompatibility for ZnO/CuS nanocomposite. A Production Planning Model for a Steel Plate Fabrication Plant with Flexible Customization and Manufacturing

With increased market competition and advances in modern manufacturing technologies, requirements on customer orders and manufacturing conditions have become more diversified. This paper addresses a dynamic production planning problem for a steel plate fabrication plant with practical flexibility of both customers and manufacturing, such as steel slab-plate matching rules, plate substitution options, production line assignment. These flexibility factors can provide the decision maker with auxiliary options to satisfy customer requirements through realizable production planning. The steel slab-plate matching rules combined with plate substitution options are visualized by a networked graph and formulated by a set based design. A mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model that incorporates various manufacturing constraints and the flexibility is proposed to simultaneously optimize production strategy and provide practical managerial information such as backlogging/inventory level, capacity availability, and also steel slab demand. Linearization methods are used to transform the original MINLP problem into mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model resulting in easier and quicker solutions. A real industrial steel plate fabrication plant is used as a case and illustrates the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method.

In this paper,a nonlinear model predictive control algorithm based on MSSARX-PWL(wiener type)model is proposed for double-loop propylene polymerization process with multivariate,coupled and unstable nonlinear *** MSSARX-PWL model structure,in which linear state space model under the closed-loop conditions identified by the modified closed-loop subspace identification method(MSSARX),combined with the nonlinear steady-state model identified by the multivariate PWL method,is established for the nonlinear predictive model of double-loop propylene polymerization ***,the non-linear model can be inversed to linear model that without Non-linear Programming methods(NLP)solver but only the Linear Quadratic Programming(LQP)optimization controller is *** algorithm proposed can not only guarantee the both accuracy of model and control,but also improve the computational *** was validated by the simulation process of double-loop propylene polymerization.

In this paper,a two-layer hierarchical structure of optimization and control for polypropylene grade transition is raised to overcome process uncertainties and disturbances that lead to the large deviation between the open-loop reference trajectory and the actual *** the upper layer,the variant time scale based control vector parametric methods（VTS-CVP）is used for dynamic optimization of transition reference trajectory,while nonlinear model predictive controller（NMPC）based on SSARX-PWL（wiener-type）model in the lower layer is tracking fast to the reference trajectory from the upper layer and overcoming high-frequency ***,a mechanism about trajectory deviation detection and optimal trajectory updating online are introduced to ensure a smooth transition for the entire *** proposed method is validated with the application on real data from an industrial double-loop propylene-polymerization reaction process with dynamic mechanism mathematical model developed.

Finite Element Approximation and Input Parameterization for the Optimal control of Current Profiles in Tokamak Plasmas

In this paper, we consider a simplified dynamic model describing the evolution of the poloidal flux during the ramp-up phase of the tokamak discharge. We first use the Galerkin method to obtain a finite-dimensional model based on the original PDE system. Then, we apply the control parameterization method to obtain an approximate optimal parameter selection problem governed by a lumped parameter system. Computational optimization techniques are subsequently deployed to solve this approximate problem. To validate our approach, we perform numerical simulations using experimental data from the DIII-D tokamak in San Diego, California. The results show that our numerical optimization procedure can generate optimal controls that drive the current profile to within close proximity of the desired profile at the terminal time, thus demonstrating that the Galerkin and control parameterization methods are effective tools for current profile control in tokamak plasmas.

Behavior permissiveness is one of the most important criterions in evaluating the performance of a Petri net controller. In our previous work, the concept of transition covers is proposed, and based on it, a live Petri net controller with small size is constructed. A transition cover is a subset of maximal perfect resource transition circuits that consist of resource places and transitions and characterize deadlock states of Petri nets. However, there are more than one transition covers for a Petri net, and the performances of Petri net controllers are different based on different transition covers. This paper explores the condition under which the performance of Petri net controllers can be largely improved. Based on the condition, an efficient deadlock prevention policy is established. Finally, two examples are provided to demonstrate the proposed conditions and policy.

Previously,our group developed a novel Self-Priming Compartmentalization(SPC) microfluidic *** has good performance at the sample injection speed and the uniform of the sample discretization,and it is very *** it becomes a good reaction platform for digital Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR).The unique sample injection method promotes the development of microfluidic chip ***,it puts forward more requirements on the fluorescence detection *** this work,we develop a fluorescence detection system based on CCD and *** realizes the function of image capture,processing and the resulting calculation for digital PCR on SPC *** the other hand,we apply the Sobel algorithm to the image processing,which improves the quality of edge extraction,and improves the anti-noise property of the *** control experiment shows that for the same chip,our system has the equivalent result as the commercial imaging device(Maestro Ex IN-VIVO IMAGING SYSTEM),which needs manual calculation for the targeted DNA copies after taking *** proves the effectiveness of our self-developed microfluidic chip fluorescence detection system.

This paper proposes a concurrency strategy based on timed-transition Petri net for scheduling flexible manufacturing system (FMS). Combined with the heuristic function, prior search algorithms explore only one transition during each execution, which brings in many redundancy states for the expending procedure. In this paper, we prove that firing some non-conflicting transitions simultaneously can also achieve an optimal schedule. This can help the search algorithm explore deeper successor states and avoid many unnecessary intermediate states. As a result, the search effort can be reduced apparently while the optimality of result is still guaranteed. The experimental results show that the proposed concurrency strategy performs better than the reported methods.

An Improved APSO-SQP with Adaptive Transition Strategy for Dynamic Optimization

This paper employs a logistical regression classifier for combining particle swarm optimizer and local optimizer to solve dynamic optimization problems. It achieves the ability of automatic transition from global optimizer to local optimizer according to the state of solutions. The particle swarm optimizer is used to globally search for a good approximation of the solution and then SQP is applied as the local optimizer for quickly converging to the optima. Experimental results on two complex chemical processes demonstrate that the proposed method can get comparable and even better results than the existed methods in precision and especially in function evaluations.

The vast majority of strategies aimed at controlling contagion processes on networks consider the connectivity pattern of the system either quenched or annealed. However, in the real world, many networks are highly dynamical and evolve, in time, concurrently with the contagion process. Here, we derive an analytical framework for the study of control strategies specifically devised for a class of time-varying networks, namely activity-driven networks. We develop a block variable mean-field approach that allows the derivation of the equations describing the coevolution of the contagion process and the network dynamic. We derive the critical immunization threshold and assess the effectiveness of three different control strategies. Finally, we validate the theoretical picture by simulating numerically the spreading process and control strategies in both synthetic networks and a large-scale, real-world, mobile telephone call data set.
