Abstract A virtual factory integrated manufacturing system combined with system simulation and virtual reality is introduced in this paper. We describe the system architecture and development methodology, provide the working principle of process simulation and monitoring in virtual factory, and then explain the detailed applications of virtual factory integrated manufacturing system. With the visualization and three-dimensional human-computer interaction about process and production data, this platform can provide effective supports on monitoring, control and operation of manufacturing system.

In order to enhance the glutathione peroxidase(GPX) catalytic activity of the selenium-containing single-chain variable fragments(Se-scFv), a novel human scFv was designed on the basis of the structure of human antibody and optimized via bioinformatics methods such as homologous sequence analysis, three-dimensional(3D) model building, binding-site analysis and docking. The DNA sequence of the new human scFv was synthesized and cloned into the expression vector pET22b(+), then the scFv protein was expressed in soluble form in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) and purified by Ni2+-immobilized metal affinity chromatography(IMAC). The serine residue of scFv in the active site was converted into selenocysteine(Sec) with the chemical modification method, thus, the human Se-scFv with GPX activity was obtained. The GPX activity of the Se-scFv protein was characterized. Compared with other Se-scFv, the new human Se-scFv showed similar efficiency for catalyzing the reduction of hydrogen peroxide by glutathione. It exhibited pH and temperature dependent catalytic activity and a typical ping-pong kinetic mechanism.

The purposes of this presentation are to provide an analytical review of the recent trends of future industrialcontrols, and then to investigate the potential applications of internet of things, sensor network and the concept of smart planet in building an enterprise-wide industrialcontrolsystems with integration of control, computer, communication and network technologies. Model Predictive controltechnology as the most typical method of Advanced Process control has been developed rapidly and applied widely in process industry. Weather MPC controllers operate well or not affect the enterprise benefit directly, therefore it is significant to carry out economic performance assessment and optimization. As a pragmatic method, LQG benchmark introduces manipulated variables together with controlled variables into quadratic dynamic index, which is more suitable for industrial application than Minimum Variance control benchmark. However, traditional LQG benchmark is regressed from an unbalanced distribution of discrete points set, which causes unnecessary calculation and poor regression in more important parts of points set. To avoid this, the relationship between manipulated variables variance and controlled variables variance was calculated, an equal-grid LQG benchmark was introduced and added in two layers MPC optimization problem as an equation constraint, then the optimal MPC setting values or reference trajectory could be obtained. The economic performance assessment and simulation results for delayed coking furnace show the effect of proposed methods.

Model predictive controltechnology can now be found widely in a variety of applications including petroleum, chemical and papermaking industries. An approach is proposed to decide a benchmark and monitor model predictive control performance on-line. A performance measure based on multi-step prediction error benchmark is shown to be more realistic without the requirement of process models or interactor matrix. A practical on-line monitoring strategy is presented which emphasizes the use of routine operating data plus the order of the interactor matrix to determine when it becomes worthwhile to re-identify the plant dynamics and re-install the model predictive control application.

To avoid the problem of estimating a general interactor, an improved computational method for user-specified benchmark is presented in this paper. The improved user-specified benchmark together with the historical benchmark are then specified as two parallel benchmarks to form an integrated performance assessment strategy, which can detect any change in the performance of a control system and identify the potential improvement that can be made to the performance of the control system. Simulated examples are provided to illustrate the validity of the proposed methods.
