Dietary supplementation of Scutellariae radix flavonoid extract improves lactation performance in dairy cows by regulating gastrointestinal microbes,antioxidant capacity and immune function

Scutellariae radix flavonoid extract(SFE)has been acknowledged for its antioxidant,anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties in enhancing gastrointestinal microbial communities and improving the host’s ***,the impacts of dietary supplementation with SFE on the gastrointestinal microbes and host metabolism in dairy cows remain ***,the aim of this study was to assess the effects of dietary supplementation with SFE on the lactation performance,gastrointestinal microbes,and plasma biochemical parameters of dairy *** ruminally and duodenally cannulated multiparous dairy cows were used in a crossover design over 28-d periods that included a 21-d adaptation and a 7-d sample collection *** were fed a basal diet(CON group)or a basal diet supplemented with SFE at 25 g/d(SFE group).SFE supplementation tended to increase milk yield(P=0.067)and milk urea N concentration(P=0.079),and decreased the milk somatic cell counts(SCC,P=0.036).Cows in the SFE group had lower plasma aspartate aminotransferase(AST),malondialdehyde(MDA),tumor necrosis factor(TNF-a),and interleukin-1b concentrations compared with the CON(P<0.05).Meanwhile,SFE supplementation increased butyrate concentration in the rumen(P=0.044).The microbial structure of rumen and duodenum were affected by SFE supplementation(P=0.009 and P=0.031;respectively),resulting in enrichment of Butyrivibrio in both parts of the SFE cows(P=0.034 and P=0.029;respectively).However,microbial structure and composition of feces were not affected by SFE ***,our study indicated that dietary supplementation with SFE could enhance lactation performance and milk quality in dairy cows by improving the gastrointestinal inner environment and health status.

Novel Batch Polishing Method of Ceramic Cutting Inserts for Reducing Tool Wear

Ceramic cutting inserts are a type of cutting tool commonly used in high-speed metal cutting ***,the wear of these inserts caused by friction between the workpiece and cutting inserts limits their overall *** order to improve the tool life and reduce wear,this study introduces an emerging method called magnetic field-assisted batch polishing(MABP)for simultaneously polishing multiple ceramic cutting *** polishing experiments were conducted under different conditions,and the wear characteristics were clarified by cutting S136H *** results showed that after 15 min of polishing,the surface roughness at the flank face,edge,and nose of the inserts was reduced to below 2.5 nm,6.25 nm,and 45.8 nm,***,the nose radii of the inserts did not change significantly,and there were no significant changes in the weight percentage of elements before and after ***,the tool life of the batch polished inserts was found to be up to 1.75 times longer than that of unpolished *** findings suggest that the MABP method is an effective way to mass polish ceramic cutting inserts,resulting in significantly reduced tool ***,this novel method offers new possibilities for polishing other tools.

Cobalt doping amount determines dominant reactive species in peroxymonosulfate activation via porous carbon catalysts co-doped by cobalt and nitrogen

Switching the reaction routes in peroxymonosulfate(PMS)-based advanced oxidation processes have attracted much attention but remain ***,a series of Co-N/C catalysts with different compositions and structures were prepared by using bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate frameworks based on ZIF-8 and ZIF-67(x Zn/Co-ZIFs).Results show that Co doping amount could mediate the transformation of the activation pathway of PMS over CoN/*** Co doping amount was less than 10%,the constructed x Co-N/C/PMS system(x≤10%)was singlet oxygen-dominated reaction;however further increasing Co doping amount would lead to the generation and coexistence of sulfate radicals and high-valent cobalt,besides singlet ***,the nitrogen-coordinated Co(Co-NX)sites could serve as main catalytically active sites to generate singlet *** excess Co doping amount caused the formation of Co nanoparticles from which leached Co ions were responsible for the generation of sulfate radicals and high-valent *** to undoped N/C,Co doping could significantly enhance the catalytic *** 0.5%Co-N/C could achieve the optimum degradation(0.488 min^(-1))and mineralization abilities(78.4%)of sulfamethoxazole among the investigated Co-N/C catalysts,which was superior to most of previously reported *** addition,the application prospects of the two systems in different environmental scenarios(pH,inorganic anions and natural organic matter)were assessed and showed different degradation *** study provides a strategy to regulate the reactive species in PMS-based advanced oxidation process.

We propose an approach for generating robust two-dimensional(2D)vortex clusters(VCs)in a Rydberg atomic system by utilizing parity-time(PT)symmetric optical Bessel *** show that the system supports novel multicore VCs with four and eight cores,corresponding to topological charges 2 and 4,*** stability of these VCs can be dynamically adjusted through the manipulation of the gain-loss component,Kerr nonlinearities,and the degree of nonlocality inherent in the Rydberg *** VCs are confined within the first lattice well of the Bessel potential,and both the power and width of lights undergo a quasi-periodic breathing phenomenon,which is attributed to the power exchange between the light fields and Bessel *** self-attractive and self-repulsive Kerr interactions can sustain robust VCs within this *** insights presented here not only facilitate the creation and manipulation of 2D VCs through PT-symmetric potentials but also pave the way for potential applications in optical information processing and transmission.

This paper introduces the Dynamic Efficient Distributed Performance Impact (DEDPI) algorithm for optimizing task allocation in multi-UAV systems operating in dynamic environments. The algorithm overcomes the limitations of existing approaches, specifically the suboptimal solutions of dynamic task algorithms and the computational inefficiencies of extending static algorithms to dynamic contexts, by dynamically adjusting task queues and employing a novel objective function to enhance resource allocation and responsiveness. Experimental results demonstrate that DEDPI significantly increases the number of completed tasks while reducing the average task execution cost, providing an effective solution for real-time, mission-critical UAV operations. © 2024 IEEE.

To more accurately describe the coal damage and fracture evolution law during liquid nitrogen(LN_(2))fracturing under true triaxial stress,a thermal-hydraulic-mechanical-damage(THMD)coupling model for LN_(2) fracturing coal was developed,considering the coal heterogeneity and thermophysical parameters of *** accuracy and applicability of model were verified by comparing with LN_(2) injection pre-cooling and fracturing experimental *** effects of different pre-cooling times and horizontal stress ratios on coal damage evolution,permeability,temperature distribution,and fracture characteristics were *** results show that the permeability and damage of the coal increase exponentially,while the temperature decreases exponentially during the fracturing *** the pre-cooling time increases,the damage range of the coal expands,and the fracture propagation becomes more *** initiation pressure and rupture pressure decrease and tend to stabilize with longer precooling *** the horizontal stress ratio increases,fractures preferentially extend along the direction of maximum horizontal principal stress,leading to a significant decrease in both initiation and rupture *** a horizontal stress ratio of 3,the initiation pressure drops by 48.07%,and the rupture pressure decreases by 41.36%.The results provide a theoretical basis for optimizing LN_(2) fracturing techniques and improving coal seam modification.

As the main contributor of the formation of particulate matter as well as ozone, volatile organic compounds(VOCs) greatly affect human health and the environmental quality. Catalytic combustion/oxidation has been viewed as an efficient, economically feasible and environmentally friendly way for the elimination of VOCs. Supported metal catalyst is the preferred type of catalysts applied for VOCs catalytic combustion because of the synergy between active components and support as well as its flexibility in the composition. The presence of support not only plays the role of keeping the catalyst with good stability and mechanical strength, but also provides a large specific surface for the good dispersion of active components, which could effectively improve the performance of catalyst as well as decrease the usage of active components, especially the noble metal amount. Mesoporous molecular sieves, owing to their large surface area, unique porous structures, large pore size as well as uniform pore-size distribution, were viewed as superior support for dispersing active components. This review focuses on the recent development of mesoporous molecular sieve supported metal catalysts and their application in catalytic oxidation of VOCs. The effect of active component types, support structure, preparation method, precursors, etc. on the valence state, dispersion as well as the loading of active species were also discussed and summarized. Moreover, the corresponding conversion route of VOCs was also *** review aims to provide some enlightment for designing the supported metal catalysts with superior activity and stability for VOCs removal.

Salt caverns are extensively utilized for storing various substances such as fossil energy,hydrogen,compressed air,nuclear waste,and industrial solid *** China,when the salt cavern is leached through single-well water solution mining with oil as a cushion,engineering challenges arise with the leaching tubing,leading to issues like damage and *** problems significantly hinder the progress of cavern construction and the control of cavern *** primary cause of this is the flowinduced vibration instability of leaching tubing within a confined space,which results in severe bending or damage to the *** study presents a model experimental investigation on the dynamic characteristics of leaching tubing using a self-developed liquid-solid coupling physical model experiment *** experiment utilizes a silicone-rubber pipe(SRP)and a polycarbonate pipe(PCP)to examine the effects of various factors on the dynamic stability of cantilevered pipes conveying *** factors include external space constraint,flexural rigidity,medium outside the pipe,overhanging length,and end *** experiments reveal four dynamic response phenomena:water hammer,static buckling,chaotic motion,and flutter *** study further demonstrates that the length of the external space constraint has a direct impact on the flutter critical flow velocity of the cantilevered pipe conveying ***,the flutter critical flow velocity is influenced by the end conditions and different external media.
