To more accurately describe the coal damage and fracture evolution law during liquid nitrogen(LN_(2))fracturing under true triaxial stress,a thermal-hydraulic-mechanical-damage(THMD)coupling model for LN_(2) fracturing coal was developed,considering the coal heterogeneity and thermophysical parameters of *** accuracy and applicability of model were verified by comparing with LN_(2) injection pre-cooling and fracturing experimental *** effects of different pre-cooling times and horizontal stress ratios on coal damage evolution,permeability,temperature distribution,and fracture characteristics were *** results show that the permeability and damage of the coal increase exponentially,while the temperature decreases exponentially during the fracturing *** the pre-cooling time increases,the damage range of the coal expands,and the fracture propagation becomes more *** initiation pressure and rupture pressure decrease and tend to stabilize with longer precooling *** the horizontal stress ratio increases,fractures preferentially extend along the direction of maximum horizontal principal stress,leading to a significant decrease in both initiation and rupture *** a horizontal stress ratio of 3,the initiation pressure drops by 48.07%,and the rupture pressure decreases by 41.36%.The results provide a theoretical basis for optimizing LN_(2) fracturing techniques and improving coal seam modification.

As the main contributor of the formation of particulate matter as well as ozone, volatile organic compounds(VOCs) greatly affect human health and the environmental quality. Catalytic combustion/oxidation has been viewed as an efficient, economically feasible and environmentally friendly way for the elimination of VOCs. Supported metal catalyst is the preferred type of catalysts applied for VOCs catalytic combustion because of the synergy between active components and support as well as its flexibility in the composition. The presence of support not only plays the role of keeping the catalyst with good stability and mechanical strength, but also provides a large specific surface for the good dispersion of active components, which could effectively improve the performance of catalyst as well as decrease the usage of active components, especially the noble metal amount. Mesoporous molecular sieves, owing to their large surface area, unique porous structures, large pore size as well as uniform pore-size distribution, were viewed as superior support for dispersing active components. This review focuses on the recent development of mesoporous molecular sieve supported metal catalysts and their application in catalytic oxidation of VOCs. The effect of active component types, support structure, preparation method, precursors, etc. on the valence state, dispersion as well as the loading of active species were also discussed and summarized. Salt caverns are extensively utilized for storing various substances such as fossil energy,hydrogen,compressed air,nuclear waste,and industrial solid *** China,when the salt cavern is leached through single-well water solution mining with oil as a cushion,engineering challenges arise with the leaching tubing,leading to issues like damage and *** problems significantly hinder the progress of cavern construction and the control of cavern *** primary cause of this is the flowinduced vibration instability of leaching tubing within a confined space,which results in severe bending or damage to the *** study presents a model experimental investigation on the dynamic characteristics of leaching tubing using a self-developed liquid-solid coupling physical model experiment *** experiment utilizes a silicone-rubber pipe(SRP)and a polycarbonate pipe(PCP)to examine the effects of various factors on the dynamic stability of cantilevered pipes conveying *** factors include external space constraint,flexural rigidity,medium outside the pipe,overhanging length,and end *** experiments reveal four dynamic response phenomena:water hammer,static buckling,chaotic motion,and flutter *** study further demonstrates that the length of the external space constraint has a direct impact on the flutter critical flow velocity of the cantilevered pipe conveying ***,the flutter critical flow velocity is influenced by the end conditions and different external media.

Aerogel is known as super insulation materials and has already been applied to manufacture thermal protection parts of aerospace equipment. Terahertz (THz) wave has good penetration to non-metallic and non-polar materials. To explore its potential in aerogel defect detection, the absorption coefficient and refractive index of aerogel were studied. As a result, the absorption spectrum of aerogel has not obvious absorption peak, and THz wave has great penetration for aerogel. Additionally, two aerogel samples with different sizes of defects were imaged with two time domain parameters (pulse peak and pulse valley) and two frequency domain parameters (absorption coefficient and refractive index). In contrast to other three parameters, the refractive index presents the greatest performance in defect detection, defects in the aerogel can be observed more clearly through the refractive index. The study is of key importance for THz wave in nondestructive testing for aerogel, offering a rapid and non-destructive detection method for aerogel defects. © 2024 SPIE.

Construction of Pd-doped RuO_(2) nanosheets for efficient and stable acidic water oxidation

RuO_(2) has been considered a potential alternative to commercial IrO_(2) for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)due to its superior intrinsic ***,its inherent structure dissolution in acidic environments restricts its commercial *** this study,we report a novel Pd-doped ruthenium oxide(Pd–RuO_(2))nanosheet catalyst that exhibits improved activity and stability through a synergistic effect of Pd modulation of Ru electronic structure and the two-dimensional *** catalyst exhibits excellent performance,achieving an overpotential of only 204 mVat a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2).Impressively,after undergoing 8000 cycles of cyclic voltammetry testing,the overpotential merely decreased by 5 *** PEM electrolyzer with Pd0.08Ru0.92O_(2) as an anode catalyst survived an almost 130 h operation at 200 mA cm^(-2).To elucidate the underlying mechanisms responsible for the enhanced stability,we conducted an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analysis,which reveals that the electron transfer from Pd to Ru effectively circumvents the over-oxidation of Ru,thus playing a crucial role in enhancing the catalyst's ***,density functional theory(DFT)calculations provide compelling evidence that the introduction of Pd into RuO_(2) effectively modulates electron correlations and facilitates the electron transfer from Pd to Ru,thereby preventing the overoxidation of ***,the application of the two-dimensional structure effectively inhibited the aggregation and growth of nanoparticles,further bolstering the structural integrity of the catalyst.

Distributed Adaptive Cooperative control for Human-in-the-Loop Heterogeneous UAV-UGV Systems with Prescribed Performance

This paper focuses on the distributed adaptive cooperative control problem for human-in-the-loop (HiTL) heterogeneous unmanned aerial vehicle-unmanned ground vehicle (UAV-UGV) systems via an improved prescribed performance approach. A novel human motion recognition system (HMRS) is designed and integrated into the HiTL strategy. Specifically, the leader trajectory can be changed in real time based on HMRS and the leader signal library to cope with various unexpected situations. This HiTL strategy solves the discontinuity and non-differentiability problems that may exist before and after human modification of leader signals within the extremely short time in conventional HiTL strategies. Moreover, an improved predefined-time prescribed performance approach is proposed, in which the performance function only needs to be first-order continuous differentiable instead of infinite-order continuous differentiable. This approach can greatly broaden the selection range of performance functions. Furthermore, a unified model of heterogeneous UAV-UGV systems is established to avoid designing UAV and UGV systems separately, which improves the universality of the control algorithm. Finally, the proposed HiTL control scheme is applied to a simulation example to verify its feasibility and effectiveness. IEEE

Enhancement of weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores leaching process with PQ-10 addition

To solve the problems of the long development period,low mass transfer efficiency and high impurity conte nt in the in-situ leaching process of weathe red crust elution-deposited rare earth ores(WCE-DREO),cationic hydroxyethyl cellulose(PQ-10)was composited with conventional leaching agent ammonium sulfate((NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4))to form a novel composite leaching *** effects of PQ-10 concentration,leaching temperature and leaching flow rate of the composite leaching agent on the leaching kinetics and mass transfer processes of rare earth(RE)and aluminum(Al)were *** to the single leaching agent(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4),the composite leaching agent(2 wt%(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)+0.02 wt%PQ-10)can reduce the RE leaching equilibrium time from 465 to 130 min and increase the RE leaching efficiency and decrease the Al leaching *** also facilitates the leaching process of WCE-DREO by increasing the peak concentrations of RE and Al,reducing the theoretical tower plate height(HETP)and improving the leaching mass transfer *** is indicated that PQ-10 can promote the leaching of *** leaching process of the composite leaching system conforms to the diffusion kinetic control *** the PQ-10 concentration is in the range of 0.005 wt%-0.020 wt%,the reaction orders of RE and Al are 0.73 and 0.54,respectively,which shows a positive effect on the leaching velocity;when the PQ-10 concentration is in the range of 0.030 wt%-0.060 wt%,the reaction orders of RE and Al are-1.16 and-0.75,respectively,which show a negative effect on the leaching *** the range of 10-50℃,the apparent activation energies of RE and Al are 15.02 and 17.31 kJ/mol,respectively,and the higher the leaching temperature,the smaller the HETP and the higher the leaching velocity and mass transfer *** increase in leaching flow rate contributes to the increase in the longitudinal diffusion velocity of the leaching agent within WCE-DREO,causing a shorter time for RE
