Honeycomb-like biochar framework coupled with Fe_(3)O_(4)/FeS nanoparticles as efficient heterogeneous Fenton catalyst for phenol degradation

Achieving an efficient and stable heterogeneous Fenton reaction over a wide pH range is of great significance for wastewater ***,a pollen-derived biochar catalyst with a unique honeycomb-like structure,coupled with the dispersion of magnetic Fe_(3)O_(4)/FeS(Fe/S)nanoparticles,was synthesized by simple impregnation precursor,followed by *** prepared Fe/S-biochar catalyst demonstrated outstanding phenol degradation efficiency across a wide pH range,with 98%of which eliminated even under neutral conditions(pH 7.0).The high catalytic activity was due to the multilevel porous structure of pollenderived biochar provided enough active sites and allowed for better electron transfer,then increases oxidation ability to promote the ***,the acid microenvironment formed by SO_(4)^(2-)group from Fe/S composite extended the pH range for Fenton reaction,and S^(2-)facilitated the conversion of≡Fe^(3+)to≡Fe^(2+),resulting in remarkable degradation ***,biochar can effectively promote cycling stability by limiting Fe *** work may provide a general strategy for designing 3D framework biochar-based Fe/S catalysts with excellent performance for heterogeneous Fenton reactions.

Pyrolysis is an effective method to treat oily sludge(OS)due to its balance between oil recovery and nonhazardous ***,tank bottom OS contains a high content of heavy fractions,which creates obstacles for pyrolysis due to the high activation *** incomplete cracking of macromolecules and secondary polymerization decreases the oil quality and causes coking during the operation *** study introduced polyethylene(PE)into OS to deploy the H/Ceff ratio of feedstocks for pyrolysis A strong interaction between OS and PE during copyrolysis could be observed from the TG/DTG *** tightly participated in OS degradation,while OS also promoted PE degradation at high *** pits were generated in solid residues from copyrolysis,which was attributed to the uniform and violent gas *** addition to HCN,other nitrogenous and sulphurous pollutants were ***,more gas products were attained after PE addition with more value-added compositions of alkanes and *** the oil yield decreased after PE addition,the oil products from copyrolysis possessed higher heating values and higher contents of light fractions with short chains as well as ***,copyrolysis of OS and PE significantly improved the pyrolysis process and resulted in high oil quality.

High-precision maps and localization techniques are important modules in robot systems. However, the existing simultaneous localization and mapping methods using the same sensors in both localization and mapping tasks suffers from high costs and inflexibility. Therefore, the method of implementing a low-cost visual sensor to achieve indoor localization with the pre-obtained high-precision point cloud maps is proposed in this paper. To find a similar area represented by point cloud of the maps and the sensors, a localization strategy based on ICP for point cloud matching is completed on the premise of giving a rough initial pose. Meanwhile, visual odometry is integrated into the localization framework to conquer the localization failure caused by repeated point cloud features in indoor environments. The sub-meter level localization accuracy in the indoor building environment is achieved in the experiments. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.

Measurement and control technology and instrumentation, as a high-tech intensive specialty integrating disciplines such as electrical engineering, optics, control theory, computer science and instrumentation science, has a strong interdisciplinary nature. This presents challenges to traditional teaching methods which often fail to fully cultivate students' practical and innovative abilities. To address this, a multi-level teaching model focused on the cultivation of practical and innovative skills has been developed, reforming the original experimental teaching mode and integrating the establishment of experimental teaching platforms. The proposed teaching model integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application, utilising improved experimental platforms such as YOLOv5s for hands-on teaching. LiDAR has become a widely used sensor in many autonomous areas, and LiDAR SLAM is one of essential applications. With the tendency of lightweight structure and the improvement of LiDAR resolution, downsampling points from LiDAR raw data has been utilized in some system. In this paper, we focus on the influence of point downsampling, especially on location and mapping, and propose a benchmark method to evaluate the LiDAR SLAM system based on downsampling property. Three criteria including RPE Degeneration, ATE Degeneration, and Precision Maintenance Rate are defined for assessment. Then, groups of experiments using this evaluation method are conducted, with a comparison and discussion of system characteristics, which may contribute to subsequent development of LiDAR SLAM system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.

Fixed-time-synchronized control: a system-dimension-categorized approach

This study addresses the fixed-time-synchronized control problem of perturbed multi-input multioutput(MIMO) systems. In the task of fixed-time-synchronized control, different dimensions of the output signal in MIMO systems are required to reach the desired value simultaneously within a fixed time *** MIMO system is categorized into two cases: the input-dimension-dominant and the state-dimensiondominant cases. The classification is defined according to the dimension of system signals and, more importantly, the capability of converging at the same time. For each kind of MIMO system, sufficient Lyapunov conditions for fixed-time-synchronized convergence are explored, and the corresponding robust sliding mode controllers are designed. Moreover, perturbations are compensated using the super-twisting technique. The brake control of the vertical takeoff and landing aircraft is considered to verify the proposed method for the input-dimension-dominant case, which shows the essential advantages of decreasing the energy consumption and the output trajectory length. Furthermore, comparative numerical simulations are performed to show the semi-time-synchronized property for the state-dimension-dominant case.

The development of highly active functionalized ionic liquids(ILs)as both extractants and catalysts for use in achieving deep desulfurization continues to pose *** this study,a highly efficient oxidative desulfurization system was constructed,composed of dual-acidic ionic liquids(DILs)and H_(2)O_(2)-*** investigation results of four DILs prepared from different metal chlorides([HSO_(3)C_(3)NEt_(3)]Cl-MnCl_(n),MnCl_(n)=AlCl_(3),ZnCl_(2),CuCl_(2),FeCl_(3))in oxidative desulfurization showed that[HSO_(3)C_(3)NEt_(3)]Cl-AlCl_(3)had an outstanding catalytic effect and significantly promoted the oxidation of *** a 0.2 g[HSO_(3)C_(3)NEt_(3)]Cl-AlCl_(3),the removal rate of dibenzothiophene(DBT)reached 100%in 10 mL model oil under mild conditions at 55℃for 20 *** key is its ability to induce the dismutation of su-peroxide anions(·O_(2)^(-)),which facilitates the generation of singlet oxygen(1 O_(2)).The efficient oxidation of DBT is accomplished through a predominantly^(1)O_(2)-mediated_(n)on-radical mechanism.[HSO_(3)C_(3)NEt_(3)]Cl-AlCl_(3)serves as a favorable medium for contact to be made between^(1)O_(2)and sulfides,which indicates an efficient catalytic-adsorption synergy.
