Three-dimensional porous bimetallic metal–organic framework/gelatin aerogels: A readily recyclable peroxymonosulfate activator for efficient and continuous organic dye removal

As promising catalysts for the degradation of organic pollutants,metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)often face limitations due to the particle agglomeration and challenging recovery in liquid-catalysis application,stemming from their powdery *** macroscopic structures from pulverous MOF is thus of great importance for broadening their practical *** this study,three-dimensional porous MOF aerogel catalysts were successfully fabricated for degrading organic dyes by activating peroxymonosulfate(PMS).MOF/gelatin aerogel(MOF/GA)catalysts were prepared by directly integrating bimetallic FeCo-BDC with gelatin solutions,followed by freeze-drying and low-temperature *** FeCo-BDC-0.15/GA/PMS system exhibited remarkable performance in degrading various organic dyes,eliminating 99.2%of rhodamine B within a mere 5 *** to the GA/PMS system,there was over a 300-fold increase in the reaction rate ***,high removal efficiency was maintained across varying conditions,including different solution pH,co-existing inorganic anions,and natural water *** trapping experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis revealed that the degradation involved radical(SO_(4)^(-)·)and non-radical routes(^(1)O_(2)),of which ^(1)O_(2) was ***,even after a continuous 400-min reaction in a fixed-bed reactor at a liquid hourly space velocity of 27 h^(-1),the FeCo-BDC/GA composite sustained a degradation efficiency exceeding 98.7%.This work presents highly active MOF-gelatin aerogels for dye degradation and expands the potential for their large-scale,continuous treatment application in organic dye wastewater management.

Master crack types and typical acoustic emission characteristics during rock failure

Acoustic emission(AE)signals contain substantial information about the internal fracture characteristics of rocks and are useful for revealing the laws governing the release of energy stored *** here is the evolution of rock failure with diferent master crack types as investigated using Brazilian splitting tests(BSTs),direct shear tests(DSTs),and uniaxial compression tests(UCTs).The AE parameters and typical modes of each fracture type were obtained,and the energy release characteristics of each fracture mechanism were *** the observed changes in the AE parameters,the rock fracture process exhibits characteristics of staged *** scale and energy level of crack activity in the BSTs were signifcantly lower than those in the DSTs and *** proportion of tensile cracks in the BSTs was 65%–75%,while the proportions of shear cracks in the DSTs and UCTs were 75%–85%and 70%–75%,*** the rock loading process under diferent conditions,failure was accompanied by an increased number of shear *** amplitude,duration,and rise time of the AE signal from rock failure were larger when the failure was dominated by shear cracks rather than tensile ones,and most of the medium-and high-energy signals had medium to low *** calculating the proposed energy amplitude ratio,the energy release of shear cracks was found to exceed that of tensile cracks at the same fracture scale.

GITANet: Group Interactive Threshold-based Attention Network for Hyperspectral Image Classification

Group convolution networks have shown great potential in hyperspectral image (HSI) classification because of their ability to divide total spectral bands into multiple groups and focus on fine discrimination within different spectral ranges. Most group convolution networks process parallel spectral groups independently;however, they neglect the important relevance of nearby spectral ranges. Moreover, the feature maps from different spectral groups are not considered for recalibration in the existing attention. To address these issues, we propose a novel group interactive threshold attention network (GITANet). In the network, a stratified-split-concatenation strategy, which not only splits all bands into multiple groups for intragroup convolution but also propagates the intergroup information via the stratified concatenation operation between different groups, is designed for bandwise group convolution. Relying on the high dependencies among nearby spectra, the cross-group interactive attention block is designed to encourage significant spectral features. Subsequently, from different spectral ranges, a learnable threshold generation block is built to estimate the information validity of each pixel. On the basis of this threshold, soft threshold spatial attention is developed in the bandwise encoderdecoder architecture, which emphasizes high-value spatial areas during the fusion of group convolutional features. Therefore, complementary and discriminative spectral-spatial features are obtained to improve the performance of HSI classification. The experimental results on three HSI datasets illustrate that GITANet is superior to several state-of-the-art networks. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

The H10 subtype avian influenza virus(AIV)poses an ongoing threat to both birds and ***,fatal human cases of H10N3 and H10N8 infections have drawn public *** 2022,we isolated two H10N3 viruses(A/chicken/Shandong/0101/2022 and A/chicken/Shandong/0603/2022)from diseased chickens in *** analysis revealed that these viruses were genetically associated with human-origin H10N3 virus,with internal genes originating from local H9N2 *** to the H10N8 virus(A/chicken/Jiangxi/102/2013),the H10N3 viruses exhibited enhanced thermostability,increased viral release from erythrocytes,and accumulation of hemagglutinin(HA)***,we evaluated the pathogenicity of both H10N3 and H10N8 viruses in *** found that viral titers could be detected in the lungs and nasal turbinates of mice infected with the two H10N3 viruses,whereas H10N8 virus titers were detectable in the lungs and brains of ***,the proportion of double HA Q222R and G228S mutations in H10N3 viruses has increased since ***,the functional roles of the Q222R and G228S double mutations in the HA gene of H10N3 viruses remain unknown and warrant further *** study highlights the potential public health risk posed by the H10N3 virus.A spillover event of AIV to humans could be a foretaste of a looming ***,it is imperative to continuously monitor the evolution of the H10N3 influenza virus to ensure targeted prevention and control measures against influenza outbreaks.

Synergistic effects of peroxydisulfate on UV/O_(3) process for tetracycline degradation:Mechanism and pathways

Tetracycline(TC)as a typical emerging pollutant is becoming a serious threat to the environment and human health.A combined advanced oxidation technology of UV/Ozone(O_(3))/peroxydisulfate(PDS)process was developed to explore an efficient and economic treatment process of TC in ***,the reactive sites and transformation pathways of TC were explored and the toxicity of the intermediates was quantified with a quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR)*** degradation performance of TC was substantially enhanced in UV/O_(3)/PDS process with a kobsof 0.0949 min-1,which was 2.3 times higher than UV/O_(3)and 3.2 times than sole *** results demonstrated that there was a superior synergistic effect of PDS on UV/O_(3)processes for the degradation of *** paramagnetic resonance(EPR)analysis and quenching experiments show that·OH,SO_(4)·-,O_(2)·-and1O_(2)all contributed to TC degradation in the UV/O_(3)/PDS process and exhibited a synergistic effect,which inhibited the generation of harmful *** addition,the UV/O_(3)/PDS system can effectively degrade TC in a wide range of substrate concentrations and pH,and also showed excellent adaptability to various concentrations of anions(Cl-and HCO_(3)-).This study proves the feasibility of UV/O_(3)/PDS process for treating TC contaminated wastewater with complicated water matrix.

Study of dust pollution control effect based on orthogonal test and CFD numerical simulations

To control the diffusion of high concentrations of coal dust during tunnel boring and minimize the threat to the life and health of coal miners, theoretical analysis, numerical simulations, and field measurements were combined in this study. First, computational fluid dynamic simulation software was used to simulate the generation of dust particles and their transport pattern in the tunnel. Subsequently, an innovative orthogonal test was performed to study the effect of four ventilation parameters [the pressure airflow rate (Q), distance between the air duct center and heading face (LA), distance between the air duct center and tunnel floor (LB), and distance between the air duct center and nearest coal wall (LC)] on dust diffusion. According to the orthogonal test results, the optimal ventilation parameters for effective dust control are as follows: Q = 1400 m3/min, LA = 7 m, LB = 2.8 m, and LC = 1 m. The optimized set of ventilation parameters was applied to the Wangpo 3206 working face. The results show that dust diffusion in the tunnel was effectively controlled and that the air quality was sufficiently improved. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.
