For modern iron and steel industry, blast furnace (BF) burden charging is one of the key procedures for cast iron making. Recognition of the different states during the charging process is the premise of burden layer profile observation and the hot gas monitoring in the BF throat. Conventional methods only provide limited information from the measurement spots where the sensors are located. Infrared thermal imaging technique provides continuous and field information of the BF throat, and is able to monitor the charging process. In the paper, the computer vision technique is applied to implement the charging state recognition of the BF. After preprocessing of the infrared images, the YOLOv5 algorithm is adopted to accomplish the target detection of the markers in the BF throat. A state identification template is designed to tell the different states during the charging process. The proposed charging state recognition method in this paper is verified with the infrared videos from an actual BF. The recognition accuracy is better than 95.5%, which has shown the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.

Terahertz technology is a non-invasive and label-free inspection method, promising for applications in various fields, especially in biomedical diagnosis. Terahertz radiation is capable for cell physiological and pathological status recognition due to its sensitivity to cell composition and structural information of biomacromolecular. In this paper, the transmission properties of glass, polymethyl methacrylate and polypropylene in THz regime were compared and polypropylene was selected as the petri dish material for cell adhesion due to its high transmission of terahertz wave. The time-domain and frequency-domain spectra, refractive index and absorption coefficient of hepatoma cell line Huh7 and normal cell line MIHA were analyzed. The experimental results showed significant distinction between the terahertz characteristic spectra of hepatoma cells and normal cells. This work can be helpful for applying terahertz technology in cancer detection at the cellular level. © 2023 IEEE.

Analyzing the spatiotemporal evolution and driving forces of gross ecosystem product in the upper reaches of the Chaobai River Basin

The Chaobai River Basin,which is a crucial ecological barrier and primary water source area within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,possesses substantial ecological *** gross ecosystem product(GEP)in the Chaobai River Basin is a reflection of ecosystem conditions and quantifies nature’s contributions to humanity,which provides a basis for basin ecosystem service management and *** study investigated the spatiotemporal evolution of GEP in the upper Chaobai River Basin and explored the driving factors influencing GEP spatial *** patterns from 2005 to 2020 were analyzed,and GEP was calculated for 2005,2010,2015,and *** driving factors influencing GEP spatial differentiation were identified using the optimal parameter-based geographical detector(OPGD)*** key findings are as follows:(1)From 2005 to 2020,the main ecosystem types were forest,grassland,and *** areas experienced significant changes,and conversions mainly occurred among urban,water,grassland and agricultural ecosystems.(2)Temporally,the GEP in the basin increased from 2005 to 2020,with regulation services *** the county(district)scale,GEP exhibited a north-west-high and south-east-low pattern,showing spatial differences between per-unit-area GEP and county(district)GEP,while the spatial variations in per capita GEP and county(district)GEP were similar.(3)Differences in the spatial distribution of GEP were influenced by regional natural geographical and socioeconomic *** these factors,gross domestic product,population density,and land-use degree density contributed *** among different driving forces noticeably impacted GEP spatial *** findings underscore the necessity of incorporating factors such as population density and the intensity of land-use development into ecosystem management decision-making processes in the upper reaches of the Chaobai River *** policies

14α-hydroxy-androst-4-ene-3,17-dione(14α-OH-AD)is an important precursor for the synthesis of steroid drugs with anticancer and carcinolytic ***,14α-OH-AD was mostly synthesized by whole-cell fermentation of mold fungi using androstenedione(AD)as a substrate,which had difficulties in product isolation and purification as well as problems of high production *** this study,the source of the 14α-hydroxylase gene was *** 14α-hydroxylase genes were heterologously expressed in Mycolicibacterium neoaurum(MNR)M3ΔksdD,which enabled the one-step biotransformation from the cheap substrate phytosterols(PS)to 14α-OH-AD,reducing the difficulty of product purification and production *** is more,to alleviate the problem of poor activity of 14α-hydroxylase,the 14α-hydroxylase gene was co-expressed with the electron transport chain element genes and the coenzyme regeneration genes,and a superior engineered strain MNR M3ΔksdD/pMV261-14α-G6PDH was ***,the transformation conditions were optimized for the transformation of PS by the engineered *** molar yield of 14α-OH-AD reached to 60.4±2.3%(about 0.22 g/L productivity).This study investigated for the first time the effects of the tandem electron transport chain element genes and the tandem coenzyme regeneration genes on the 14α-hydroxylation reaction,providing a theoretical basis for the industrial production of 14α-OH-AD.

Pedestrian trajectory prediction method based on automatic driving

Pedestrian trajectory prediction plays a crucial role in autonomous driving, as its accuracy directly affects the autonomous driving system’s comprehension of the environment and subsequent decision-making processes. Current trajectory prediction methods tend to oversimplify pedestrians to mere point coordinates, utilizing positional information to infer interactions among individuals while overlooking the temporal correlations between them, thereby excessively simplifying pedestrian characteristics. To address the aforementioned issues, this paper proposes a trajectory prediction model for autonomous driving applications, that takes into account both pedestrian motion characteristics and scene interaction. The model optimizes the LSTM unit structure twice, serving to learn correlations among long trajectories of pedestrians and to integrate multiple forms of information into the neighborhood interaction module. Furthermore, our model introduces dual attention mechanisms for individuals and scenes, focusing on the key motion points of individual pedestrians and their interactive behavior with others in busy scenarios. The efficacy of the model was validated on the MOT16 pedestrian dataset and the Daimler pedestrian path prediction dataset, outperforming mainstream methods with 8% and 10% reductions in Average Displacement Error and Final Displacement Error respectively. © 2024 – IOS Press. Identification of high oxygen-consuming substances in stormwater drainage systems illicitly connected with sewage system

The dissolved oxygen content in water is an important indicator for assessing the quality of the water environment,and maintaining a certain amount of dissolved oxygen is essential for the healthy development of the ecological *** a water body is anoxic,the activity of anaerobic microorganisms increases and organic matter is decomposed to produce a large number of blackening and odorizing substances,resulting in black and odorous water bodies,which is a very common and typical phenomenon in ***,there is still a relatively universal occurrence of illicitly connected stormwater and sewage pipes in the urban drainage pipe network in China,which makes oxygen-consuming substances be directly discharged into rivers through stormwater pipes and consume the dissolved oxygen in the water bodies,resulting in an oxygen deficiency of the *** induces seasonal or year-round black and stink phenomena in urban ***,identifying high oxygen-consuming substances,which lays the foundation for the subsequent removal of oxygen-consuming substances,is *** a series of comparisons of water quality indicators and analysis of organic characteristics,it was found that the oxygen consumption capacity of domestic sewage was higher than that of industrial wastewater in the selected area of this study,and the oxygen-consuming substances of domestic sewage were small molecular amino *** comparing 20 conventional free amino acids,it was found that seven of them consumed oxygen easily,and compared with chemical oxygen consumption,biological oxygen consumption was in a leading position.

In this study,macro-and meso-mechanical properties of frozen sand molds were discussed based on the Hertz-Mindlin with Bonding(HMB)***-Burman,steepest ascent,and central composite designs were utilized to propose a parameter calibration *** effects of mesoscopic parameter variations on the compressive strength and average gradient of stress-strain were investigated through response surface method *** showed that the relative error between the simulated and measured repose angle is 3.1%under calibrated intrinsic contact *** compressive strength and average stress-strain gradient primarily depend on the normal and shear stiffness per unit area,as well as the particle size and porosity of the silica ***,taking load-displacement curves of three frozen sand molds with different geometric characteristics as the target value,the reliability and effectiveness of the frozen sand mold HMB model were verified through uniaxial compression tests and discrete element simulations.

A nonlinear wake model of a wind turbine considering the yaw wake steering

Duo to fluctuations in atmospheric turbulence and yaw control strategies,wind turbines are often in a yaw *** predict the far wake velocity field of wind turbines quickly and accurately,a wake velocity model was derived based on the method of momentum conservation considering the wake steering of the wind turbine under yaw *** consider the shear effect of the vertical incoming wind direction,a two-dimensional Gaussian distribution function was introduced to model the velocity loss at different axial positions in the far wake region based on the assumption of nonlinear wake *** work also developed a“prediction-correction”method to solve the wake velocity field,and the accuracy of the model results was verified in wake experiments on the Garrad Hassan wind ***,a 33-kW two-blade horizontal axis wind turbine was simulated using this method,and the results were compared with the classical wake model under the same parameters and the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation *** results show that the nonlinear wake model well reflected the influence of incoming flow shear and yaw wake steering in the wake velocity ***,computation of the wake flow for the Horns Rev offshore wind farm with 80 wind turbines showed an error within 8%compared to the experimental *** established wake model is less computationally intensive than other methods,has a faster calculation speed,and can be used for engineering calculations of the wake velocity in the far wakefield of wind turbines.

This paper considers a tilting tri-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with each rotor having a tilting degree of freedom. The dynamic model of this UAV is obtained in this paper, which is a fully-actuated system instead of an underactuated system. Although it is not a redundant system, it also needs control allocator to distribute virtual control commands to actuators. Therefore, we propose a new control allocation method to solve this nonlinear problem. Meanwhile, the Backstepping method is used to build the entire control architecture. Water content and primary fractures can change the mechanical characteristics of rock,making it easy to induce geological ***,direct shear tests of red sandstone under the action of water-fracture were carried out in this *** results show that shear strength of rock samples with fractures is less than that of intact rock *** the increase of primary fracture dip angle,shear strength and macroscopic crushing area of the rock sample increases first and then decreases with 20°as the *** shows that the primary fractures weaken the shear mechanical properties and change the macroscopic failure *** shear performance of water-bearing rock samples is weaker than that of intact rock samples,and the weakening degree of water-saturated on shear performance of rock samples is lower than that of unsaturated water *** fracture surfaces of rock samples are divided into‘shortest path single through type’,‘longest path single through type’and‘cross path through type’.The failured rock samples are divided into‘single through type’and‘cross through type’.The research results can provide reference for geological disaster management under relevant conditions.
