Soft sensor plays a key role in the safe operation of industrial processes and product quality control. Affected by closed-loop feedback, process data often demonstrate certain dynamic characteristics. In addition, traditional soft sensor methods are often based on the assumption of completeness. Once part of the data is missing, the above methods will collapse. In this paper, we propose a Spatio-Temporal view Generative Adversarial Imputation Network (GAIN) for data imputation and apply dynamic soft sensor for block missing accompanied with completely random missing data. Initially, a data pre-imputed strategy is designed to first impute the missing data through GAIN from the perspective of data distribution. Secondly, on the basis of pre-imputation, a data imputation strategy that integrates time and space information is proposed to impute the data precisely, which can comprehensively consider the time series of process data and the correlation between variables, and further improve the accuracy of data imputation. Finally, we propose a dynamic soft sensor method to make real-time predictions of the data. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process. © 2022 IEEE.

Screening of indicator pharmaceuticals and personal care products in landfill leachates: a case study in Shanghai, China

Identifying potential sources of pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCPs)in the environment is critical for the effective control of PPCP *** leachate is an important source of PPCPs in water;however,it has barely been involved in source apportionment due to the lack of indicator-PPCPs(i-PPCPs)in landfill *** study provides the first systematic framework for identifying i-PPCPs for landfill leachates based on the wide-scope target monitoring of *** number of target PPCPs increased from<20 in previous studies to 68 in the present ***-nine PPCPs were detected,with median concentrations in leachate samples ranging from below the method quantification limit(MQL)to 41μg/L,and 19 of them were rarely reported previously.A total of 29 target compounds were determined to be PPCPs of high concern by principal component analysis according to multiple criteria,including occurrence,exposure potential,and ecological *** with source-specificity and representativeness analysis,erythromycin,gemfibrozil,and albendazole showed a significant difference in their occurrence in leachate compared to other potential sources(untreated and treated municipal wastewater and livestock wastewater)and correlated with total PPCP concentrations;these were recommended as i-PPCPs for *** screening procedure can be used to develop a sophisticated source apportionment method to identify sources of PPCPs from adjacent landfills.

Metal-organic framework[NH_(2)-MIL-53(Al)]functionalized TiO_(2)nanotube photoanodes for highly stable and efficient photoelectrochemical cathodic protection of nickel-coated Mg alloy

Metal-organic framework[MOF,i.e.,NH_(2)-MIL-53(Al)]modified TiO_(2)(NMT)composite photoanodes were successfully prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and were used for the photoelectrochemical cathodic protection(PECCP)of nickel-plated magnesium alloy(Mg/Ni).Results showed that the synthesis tem-perature significantly impacted the morphology and PECCP performance of the NMT *** NMT@150 photoanode prepared at a reaction temperature of 150℃exhibited the best PECCP perfor-mance and produced a current density of 1980μA cm^(-2)under visible light irradiation,which was 19.8 times higher than that of a single TiO_(2)*** composite photoanode could polarize the open circuit potential of the coupled Mg/Ni electrode to-876 mV and remain relatively stable within 35 *** and EPR tests showed that a Z-scheme heterojunction was formed between the NH_(2)-MIL-53(Al)and TiO_(2)nanotubes,allowing the photogenerated electrons to accumulate mainly on the conduction band of NH_(2)-MIL-53(Al).The heterojunction greatly promoted the separation and transfer of photogenerated electron-hole in the NMT composite photoanode,significantly enhancing the PECCP performance for Mg/Ni.

Designing high-performance electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is essential to reduce the activation barrier and optimize free adsorption energy of reactive ***,we report that incorporating high-valence Cr into NiSe_(2)(Cr_(x)Ni_(1-x)Se_(2))kinetically and thermodynamically expedites elementary steps of both HER and *** as-prepared Cr_(0.05)Ni_(0.95)Se_(2) catalyst displays excellent HER and OER activities,with low overpotentials of 89 and 272 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)(j10),respectively,and remains stable during operation for 30 h.A low cell voltage of only 1.59 V is required to drive j10 in alkaline *** situ Raman spectroscopy reveals that Cr incorporation facilitates the formation of NiOOH active species during the OER ***,theoretical explorations demonstrate that high-valence Cr incorporation efficiently accelerates water dissociation kinetics and improves H*adsorption during HER process,lowering the activation barrier of OER and optimizing the adsorption energy of oxygen-based intermediate,thus kinetically and thermodynamically enhancing the intrinsic performance of NiSe_(2) for over water *** strategy provides a new horizon to design transition metal based electrocatalysts in the clean energy field.

Bibliometric analysis and scientific trends on perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) as an emerging pollutant

The persistence, bioaccumulation, and toxicity of perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), along with their concentrations in the environment and humans, have attracted global attention. However, so far, there have been seldom reports providing a systematical review in the entire field of PFASs research. Therefore, this study summarizes 14,112 relevant publications (2005–2022) and conducts bibliometric analysis using Vosviewer and CiteSpace. The findings offer insights into global PFASs research trends, assisting scientists in establishing their research directions. Unlike traditional literature reviews, this article presents a new method for data collection and analysis that achieves quantitative visualization of the information from the past 18 years in the field of PFASs. Results show a significant increase in global PFASs publications, with China leading in publication output and the US in international collaborations. Author Kurunthachalam Kanna has the highest publication records. Document co-citation clustering and key line analysis identifies four major research areas and landmarks, while betweenness centrality analysis reveals developmental processes. Citation burst analysis finds that PFASs toxicity and monitoring have been hot areas, suggesting the need for greater attention towards the types and levels of PFASs in various environmental media and the removal processes of PFASs responsible for pollution, which may emerge as future research hotspots. © 2024

Identification of key precursors contributing to the formation of CX_(3)R-type disinfection by-products along the typical full-scale drinking water treatment processes

Identification and characterization of disinfection by-product(DBP)precursors could help optimize drinkingwater treatment processes and improve the quality of *** study comprehensively investigated the characteristics of dissolved organic matter(DOM),the hydrophilicity and molecule weight(MW)of DBP precursor and DBP-associated toxicity along the typical full-scale treatment *** results showed that dissolved organic carbon and dissolved organic nitrogen content,the fluorescence intensity and the SUVA254 value in raw water significantly decreased after the whole treatment *** treatment processes were in favor of the removal of high-MW and hydrophobic DOM,which are important precursors of trihalomethane and haloacetic *** with conventional treatment processes,Ozone integrated with biological activated carbon(O3-BAC)processes enhanced the removal efficiencies of DOM with different MW and hydrophobic fractions,leading to a further decrease in almost all DBP formation potential and DBP-associated ***,almost 50%of the detected DBP precursors in raw water has not been removed after the coagulation-sedimentation-filtration integrated with O3-BAC advanced treatment *** remaining precursors were found to be mainly hydrophilic and low-MW(<1.0 kDa)***,they would largely contribute to the formation of haloacetaldehydes and haloacetonitriles,which dominated the calculated *** current drinking water treatment process could not effectively control the highly toxic DBPs,the removal of hydrophilic and low-MW organics in drinking water treatment plants should be focused on in the future.
