Repeated inoculation with rumen fluid accelerates the rumen bacterial transition with no benefit on production performance in postpartum Holstein dairy cows

Background The dairy cow’s postpartum period is characterized by dramatic physiological changes,therefore imposing severe challenges on the animal for maintaining health and milk *** dynamics of the ruminal microbiota are also tremendous and may play a crucial role in lactation *** aim to investigate the potential benefits of early microbial intervention by fresh rumen microbiota transplantation(RMT)and sterile RMT in postpartum dairy *** fistulated peak-lactation dairy cows were selected to be the donors for rumen fluid *** postpartum cows were divided into 3 groups as the transplantation receptors respectively receiving 10 L fresh rumen fluid(FR),10 L sterile rumen fluid(SR),or 10 L saline(CON)during 3 d after *** Production performance,plasma indices,plasma lipidome,ruminal microbiome,and liver transcriptome were *** fresh and sterile RMT,we found that the molar proportion of propionic acid was increased on d 7 in the FR and SR groups and the bacterial composition was also significantly changed when compared with the CON group.A similarity analysis showed that the similarities between the CON group and FR or SR group on d 7 were 48.40%or 47.85%,whereas the similarities between microbiota on d 7 and 21 in the FR and SR groups were 68.34%or 66.85%.Dry matter intake and feed efficiency were not affected by ***β-hydroxybutyrate concentration in the FR group was decreased and significantly different lipids mainly included phosphatidylcholine and lysophosphatidylcholine containing polyunsaturated fatty *** transcriptomics analysis indicated acutephase response pathways were upregulated in the SR *** Our study suggests that RMT can shorten the transition process of the ruminal microbiota of postpartum dairy cows with no benefit on dry matter intake or feed *** with rumen fluid may not be a useful approach to promote the recovery of postpartum dairy cows.

CPL-SLAM: Centralized Collaborative Multi-Robot Visual-Inertial SLAM Using Point-and-Line Features

Traditional visual-inertial SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) systems predominantly rely on feature point matching from a single robot to realize the robot pose estimation and environment map construction. However, in complex scenarios, these traditional systems struggle with issues such as tracking failures due to illumination changes, rapid movements, and low-texture environments, and they perform poorly in terms of mapping efficiency and global consistency. To address these challenges, we propose a centralized collaborative SLAM system that employs both point and line features for tracking in the robot and map fusion in the cloud. The proposed system leverages the fusion of point and line features across all instances in the process, which allows our method to achieve higher localization accuracy in structured, low-texture scenes. With the aid of classifying gravity-aligned vertical lines and spatial parallel lines, the proposed system can deliver faster and more accurate odometry in complex scenes. Furthermore, we developed intra-robot and inter-robot loop closure detection methods based on point and line features, generating a globally consistent sparse point cloud and structured scene map in the cloud. Our method is able to build richer maps while improving accuracy compared to existing methods. Experimental results on public datasets and in real-world environments show that, compared to existing advanced methods, our approach demonstrates better performance. © 2014 IEEE.

Mixed-valence is an effective way to achieve high electrochemical performance of anodes for ***,inordinate mixed valence with more structural defects leads to structural *** development of mixed valence electrodes that can maintain a stable structure during the defect formation process is the key to resolving this ***_(2-x)Se with mixed-valence is a potential candidate,the stable monoclinic structure of Cu2Se can be transformed into another stable cubic structure(x>0.15).Herein,Cu_(1.85)Se anode with mixed valence reveals the ultrahigh specific capacity of 247.8 mA·h/g at 2 A/***,the introduction of multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)into Cu1.85Se further improves the specific capacity(435 mA·h/g at 2 A/g).XRD shows that the introduction of MWCNTs can improve the reversibility via chemical interactions and accelerate the electron transfer in the Cu1.85Se/***,the assembled symmetric supercapacitor(SC)device expresses a high energy density of 41.4 W·h/kg,and the capacity remains 83%even after 8000 charge/discharge *** research demonstrates the great potential of developing high specific capacity anode materials for superior performance supercapacitor.

Distinct microstructure and property evolution of 0.76(Bi_(0.5)Na_(0.5))TiO_(3)-0.24SrTiO_(3) ferroelectric ceramics synthesized with different TiO_(2) reactants

Single phase 0.76(Bi_(0.5)Na_(0.5))TiO_(3)–0.24SrTiO_(3) ferroelectric ceramics have been synthesized with homogenous anatase and hierarchical rutile TiO_(2) raw reactants(BNST-A and BNST-R).Either calcined powder persists the microstructure characteristics of raw *** the result,when the sintering temperature increases from 1000 to 1200℃,the average grain size and density of BNST-A increase from 0.49 to 1.48μm and 5.02 to 5.61 g/cm^(3),while those of BNST-R from 0.86 to 1.44μm and 5.37 to 5.61 g/cm^(3).BNST-A illustrates a predominant ergodic relaxor state,and BNST-R prefers a non-ergodic relaxor state,as evidenced by the distinct polarization-electric field loops and current-electric field ***,such a distinct ferroelectric state is independent of sintering *** is believed that the special hierarchical microstructure of rutile TiO_(2) reactant is beneficial to form denser ceramics with larger grains,and thus suppresses the contributions of polar nanoregions and defect-induced built-in field to ferroelectric property,leading to non-ergodic relaxor *** work clearly demonstrates the nonnegligible effects of TiO_(2) reactants on the microstructure and properties of BNST ferroelectric ceramics.

Degradation kinetics and disinfection by-products formation of benzophenone-4 during UV/persulfate process

The degradation kinetics, reaction pathways, and disinfection by-products formation of an organic UV filter, benzophenone-4 (BP4) during UV/persulfate oxidation were investigated. BP4 can hardly be degraded by UV alone, but can be effectively decomposed by UV/persulfate following pseudo-first order kinetics. BP4 degradation rate was enhanced with increasing persulfate dosage and decreasing pH from 8 to 5. However, the degradation rate of BP4 at pH 9 was higher than that at pH 8 because of the presence of phenolic group in BP4 structure. and (Formula presented.) were confirmed as the major contributors to BP4 decomposition in radical scavenging experiments, and the second-order rate constants between (Formula presented.) and BP4 as well as those between (Formula presented.) and BP4 were estimated by establishing and solving a kinetic model. The presence of (Formula presented.) and humic acid inhibited the decomposition of BP4, while (Formula presented.) promoted it. The mineralisation of BP4 was only 9.1% at the persulfate concentration of 50 μM. Six degradation intermediates were identified for the promulgation of the reaction pathways of BP4 during UV/persulfate oxidation were proposed as a result. In addition, the formation of DBP in the sequential chlorination was evaluated at different persulfate dosages, pH values, and water matrix. The results of this study can provide essential knowledge for the effective control of DBP formation with reducing potential hazard to provide safe drinking water to the public. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Learning-Based Predictive control of Switched Nonlinear Systems via Koopman Modeling Approach

This paper proposes a data-driven learning-based approach to predictive control for switched nonlinear systems subject to state and control constraints and external stochastic disturbances. A switched Koopman modeling framework is developed, where a multi-mode neural network for state lifting is trained simultaneously with Koopman operators and state reconstruction matrices for all *** framework facilitates the construction of the switched linear Koopman model in a transformed space and effectively captures the dynamics of the original nonlinear system. A switched predictive control strategy is then designed to regulate the switched Koopman model with constrained states and control inputs against both the stochastic disturbances and the uncertainties introduced by the lifting neural network. The proposed control scheme ensures mean-square stability and guarantees boundedness during the online phase. Furthermore, boundedness analysis is performed to determine the bounded set of the original system state across all admissible switching sequences. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is demonstrated through a case study of a gene regulatory network.

Cr-containing wastewater treatment based on Cr self-catalysis: a critical review

Chromium (Cr), as a transition metal material with multiple redox states, has exhibited the catalysis toward Fenton-like reactions over a wide pH range. Although it is not sensible to add Cr reagents as catalysts due to its toxicity, it is highly promising to remediate Cr-containing wastewater through Cr-initiated advanced oxidation processes (Cr-initiated AOPs), which are clean and low-cost. Moreover, the widely concerned Cr-complexes, considered as obstacles in the remediation process, can be effectively destroyed by AOPs. Cr self-catalysis is defined as Cr species is both substrate and catalyst. However, the full understanding of Cr self-catalysis, including the generation of intermediates Cr(IV)/Cr(V), the synergetic effects with co-existing ions, and the accumulation of toxic Cr(VI), remains a challenge for the practical application of Cr-initiated AOPs. In this review, relevant researches on Cr self-catalysis during Cr-initiated AOPs are summarized. Specifically, the Cr-Fenton-like reaction, Cr substituted materials, and Cr-sulfite reactions are explored as key mechanisms contributing to Cr self-catalysis. Moreover, Cr transformation processes, including synchronously Cr removal, Cr redox reactions, and Cr(VI) accumulation, in AOPs-based synergistic systems are systematically analyzed. Detailed approaches for the detection of active species in AOPs-based systems are also presented. The primary objective of this review is to explore the application of AOPs for Cr-containing wastewater remediation based on Cr self-catalysis, and provide fundamental insights and valuable information for future research on Cr-initiated AOPs.

In-Vehicle Network Injection Attacks Detection Based on Feature Selection and Classification

Detecting abnormal data generated from cyberattacks has emerged as a crucial approach for identifying security threats within in-vehicle *** transmission of information through in-vehicle networks needs to follow specific data for-mats and communication protocols ***,statistical algorithms are employed to learn these variation rules and facilitate the identification of abnormal ***,the effectiveness of anomaly detection outcomes often falls short when confronted with highly deceptive in-vehicle network *** this study,seven representative classification algorithms are selected to detect common in-vehicle network attacks,and a comparative analysis is employed to identify the most suitable and favorable detection *** consideration of the communication protocol characteristics of in-vehicle networks,an optimal convolutional neural network(CNN)detection algorithm is proposed that uses data field characteristics and classifier selection,and its comprehensive performance is *** addition,the concept of Hamming distance between two adjacent packets within the in-vehicle network is introduced,enabling the proposal of an enhanced CNN algorithm that achieves robust detection of challenging-to-identify abnormal *** paper also presents the proposed CNN classifica-tion algorithm that effectively addresses the issue of high false negative rate(FNR)in abnormal data detection based on the timestamp feature of data *** experimental results validate the efficacy of the proposed abnormal data detection algorithm,highlighting its strong detection performance and its potential to provide an effective solution for safeguarding the security of in-vehicle network information.
