High-performance self-powered ultraviolet to near-infrared photodetector based on WS_(2)/InSe van der Waals heterostructure

van der Waals heterostructures(vdWHs)based on two-dimensional(2D)materials without the crystal lattice matching constraint have great potential for high-performance optoelectronic ***,a WS_(2)/InSe vdWH photodiode is proposed and fabricated by precisely stacking InSe and WS_(2)flakes through an all-dry transfer *** WS_(2)/InSe vdWH forms an n–n heterojunction with strong built-in electric field due to their intrinsic n-type semiconductor characteristics and energy-band alignments with a large Fermi level offset between WS_(2)and *** a result,the device displays excellent photovoltaic behavior with a large open voltage of 0.47 V and a short-circuit current of 11.7 nA under 520 nm light ***,a fast rising/decay time of 63/76μs,a large light on/off ratio of 105,a responsivity of 61 mA/W,a high detectivity of 2.5×10^(11) Jones,and a broadband photoresponse ranging from ultraviolet to near-infrared(325–980 nm)are achieved at zero *** study provides a strategy for developing high-performance self-powered broadband photodetectors based on 2D materials.

The terminal fan is an important part of the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system, which undertakes the task of transferring heat between the circulating fluid and the room air. Unfortunately, the large time-delay is inevitable because of the heat transfer process. Recent years have seen the successful applications of various artificial intelligent algorithms in solving optimization and control problems for complex systems. Therefore, it is of significant meaning to design a machine learning algorithms based intelligent control method to balance heat transfer efficiency, fan speed and energy consumption. In this paper, a second-order terminal fan system model with pure delay is constructed. Ensuingly, PID control is applied to control the fan's speed, and fuzzy inference is used to adjust PID parameters. The fuzzy rules are optimized by genetic algorithm with the objective function designed according to performance indexes. The temperature difference control strategy guarantees heat transfer efficiency and energy saving of terminal fans. A modified Smith predictor is proposed to solve the time-delay mismatch problem further. The terminal fan system control process is simulated with different time delays, to confirm the robustness of the control algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

Closed-Form Solution for a Circular Nanohole with Surface Effects Under Uniform Heat Flux

This paper investigates the steady-state thermoelastic problem of a circular nanohole embedded in an infinitely large elastic plane subjected to a uniform far-field heat flux.A lowly conductive surface model is used to account for the effects of surface phonon scattering,while the complete Gurtin–Murdoch model is utilized to characterize the effects of surface tension and surface *** closed-form solution to the temperature and stress field surrounding the hole is derived in the context of complex variable *** numerical examples are presented to analyze the influence of surface effects on thermal stress *** is shown that surface effects induce notable increases in normal and shear stresses around the ***,all three stress components(hoop,normal,and shear)in the vicinity of the hole exhibit substantial augmentation with increasing surface tension and surface *** particular,it is found that the presence of surface effects amplifies the variation in stress gradients and intensifies stress concentration around the hole.

Deep Co-Training Partial Least Squares Model for Semi-Supervised industrial Soft Sensing

Data-driven soft sensing has become quite popular in recent years, which can provide real-time estimations of key variables in industrial processes. While the introduction of deep learning does improve the prediction performance, it is highly restricted to the number of labeled training data, as well as large computational burden and cumbersome parameter tuning procedures. How to break through the bottleneck of data-drive models in terms of limited labeled data and high computational complexity should be one of the main recent focuses in the field of industrial soft sensing. In this article, a deep co-training PLS (deep CT-PLS) model is proposed to extend the ordinary PLS model to the semi-supervised deep form. While the deep model can efficiently extract inherent natures of process data, the co-training strategy makes lots of unlabeled data useful through a two-view cross training and annotation process. In this case, the performance restriction of the deep PLS model can be greatly relieved, with the incorporation of additional unlabeled data, while at the same time the designed model structure keeps in a low computational complexity. Based on the case study on a real industrial production process, the deep CT-PLS model can significantly improve the soft sensing performance. © 2013 IEEE.

Joint Vehicle Pairing, Spectrum Assignment and Power control for Sum-Rate Maximization in NOMA-Based V2X Underlaid Cellular Networks

Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) underlaid cellular networks in underlaid mode suffers catastrophic co-channel interference caused by spectrum sharing, results in a reduced system sum-rate. To cope with this, this work studies a social-mobility-aware non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-enabled V2X underlaid cellular network to mitigate the co-channel interference and improve the sum-rate. By jointly optimizing vehicle pairing and resources, a sum-rate maximization problem is formulated under the diverse quality of service requirements of both cellular and vehicular users. The formulated problem is proved to be a non-deterministic polynomial-time (NP)-hard problem, and is difficult to solve. As an alternative, we propose a NOMA-based joint vehicle pairing, spectrum assignment and power control algorithm (NOMA-JVP-SA-PCA), with which the original problem is decomposed into two disjoint subproblems, i. e., 1) joint vehicle pairing and spectrum assignment subproblem, and 2) power control subproblem. Dealing the first subproblem, we propose a heuristic social-mobility-aware vehicle pairing algorithm (HSMA-VPA) and a revised Kuhn-munkres-based spectrum assignment algorithm (KM-SAA) to acquire the vehicle pairing and spectrum assignment solutions. Then, solving the second subproblem, a closed-form power solution is obtained utilizing a three-dimensional geometric power control approach (3D-PCA). Finally, we solve the original problem through an iterative method. Simulation results show that the proposed NOMA-JVP-SA-PCA effectively enhances the sum-rate and outperforms the baseline algorithms around 24%-53% within a specific range. © 2014 IEEE.

Principal Trotter observation error with truncated commutators

Hamiltonian simulation is one of the most promising applications of quantum computers, and the product formula is one of the most important methods for this purpose. Previous related work has mainly focused on the worst-case, average-case, or actual-case scenarios. In this work we consider the simulation error under a fixed observable. Specifically, errors that commute with this observable become less significant. To illustrate this point, we define the observation error as the expectation under the observable and provide a commutativity-based upper bound using the Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff formula. Furthermore, we observe that the evolution order plays a critical role in determining the observation error. By leveraging a simulated annealing algorithm, we design an evolution order optimization algorithm, to identify an order that enhances commutativity with the observable, where the observation error indicated by this upper bound can be significantly compressed. In the experiment with the Heisenberg model, the observation bound compresses the Trotter number by nearly half compared to recent commutator bounds. The experiment on the hydrogen molecule Hamiltonian demonstrates that optimizing the order can lead to nearly half the reduction in the Trotter number.

In this paper, a parameter-uncertain quadrotor UAV system with unknown external disturbances and actuator failures is studied, and a parameter adaptive fault-tolerant control scheme is based on an improved nonlinear extended state Man-machine trajectory tracking control. First, considering the influence of the unknown multi-source external environmental disturbance on the quadrotor UAV, the external disturbance suffered by the system is estimated and compensated in real-time by introducing an improved nonlinear extended state observer. Secondly, a new type of sliding mode reaching law is designed by using the continuous function with relay characteristics combined with the exponential function, which improves the sliding mode response speed of the system and eliminates the chattering of the sliding mode. Finally, a parameter adaptive law is designed for the actuator fault, and an adaptive fault-tolerant controller is designed by combining the backstepping sliding mode method, and the stability of the control system is proved by using the Lyapunov stability theory. © 2023 IEEE.
