Comparison of Different Optimization Methods with Support Vecto Machine for Blast Furnace Multi-Fault Classification

Aiming at the complex and volatile conditions of the blast furnace, a support vector machine with multi-fault classification is proposed to solve the problem on blast furnace fault diagnosis. The normal or failure data is handled with a normalization and dimensionality reduction of principal component analysis (PCA). As a small amount of failure sample, a C-support vector classification (C-SVC) is applied in this filed. Different optimization methods have been performed for optimizing SVM parameters, including the grid-search method (GSM), the genetic algorithm (GA) and the particle swarm optimization (PSO). It compares these optimization algorithm strengths and limitations for multi-fault classification on classification ability and classification speed. © 2015

Proven to be a viable and cost effective solution for ubiquitous internet access, wireless access network have proliferated at homes, offices, and cafes all over the globe. Being placed at the very edge of the computer network, with increasingly powerful computational ability, wireless access points are more and more suitable for deploying configurable and personalized services for mobile clients. In this paper we propose an intelligent wireless service framework over enhanced wireless access points(refered to as Smrart Wireless Access Point) that prefetch and aggregate web contents on the wired side based on user profiles and delivery it to the user in a wireless network environment. We modify the source code of browser to enhance its data collection capabilities and develop some practical smartphone applications on the mobile client-side. Additionally, we perform some caching stratagy and algorithms when a user have created considerable usage data or rated enough information. Measuring the download latency shows that DNS caching and content caching yields significant improvements in page load time. Prefetching mechanism, recommend system and some rich featured wireless local applications all benefit users much.

Among the mathematical optimization algorithms, simplex algorithm is a popular and practical algorithm which was listed as one of the top 10 algorithms of the twentieth century by the journal Computing in Science and Engineering. Although simplex algorithm is efficient in the linear programming, the quality of convergence is unacceptable in practice as a numerical breakdown of the algorithm, even for smooth and well-behaved functions. On the other hand, full convergence might be seen in genetic algorithms(GA) using only crossover. So in this paper we combine the GA and simplex algorithm by initializing simplex from the final individual in GA and getting the converged result through simplex algorithm thereafter. A case study in estimating gas emission shows noteworthy improvement of efficiency and stability, compared with GA or simplex algorithm.

Traffic flow prediction is very important in the deployment of intelligent transportation system. Based on our previous research on deep learning approach for traffic data prediction, we further evaluates the performance of the SAE model for traffic flow prediction at daytime and *** 250 experimental tasks training a SAE model and evaluating its performance at daytime and nighttime with 3different criteria, we obtain the best combination of hyper parameters for each criterion at different times on weekday and non-weekday, respectively. Experimental results show that the MAE and RMSE at daytime are larger than that at nighttime,while the MRE at daytime are smaller than that at *** different criteria, the hyper parameters of the SAE model should vary accordingly. The results in this paper indicate that in real applications, traffic flow prediction using the deep learning approach can be a combination of multiple SAE models with different parameters suitable for different periods, which is of significance in future research.

Off-policy integral reinforcement learning optimal tracking control for continuous-time chaotic systems

This paper estimates an off-policy integral reinforcement learning（IRL） algorithm to obtain the optimal tracking control of unknown chaotic systems. Off-policy IRL can learn the solution of the HJB equation from the system data generated by an arbitrary control. Moreover, off-policy IRL can be regarded as a direct learning method, which avoids the identification of system dynamics. In this paper, the performance index function is first given based on the system tracking error and control error. For solving the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman（HJB） equation, an off-policy IRL algorithm is *** is proven that the iterative control makes the tracking error system asymptotically stable, and the iterative performance index function is convergent. Simulation study demonstrates the effectiveness of the developed tracking control method.

The global apparel and textile market has been changed considerably during the recent years. At the one hand, new trends and consumer preferences for different styles and fashion products emerge continuously, thus the apparel industry becomes more mass customized. On the other hand, attention to social and environmental sustainability has been dramatically increased in the entire industry. However, the current fast-changing fashion trends result to significant environmental and resource depletion problems in the textile lifecycle. As a result, the apparel industry should consider sustainable manufacturing strategies. The current options such as organic fibers and environmentally safe dyes seem promising. Nonetheless, there are significant challenges for apparel manufacturers and retailers to capitalize sustainability. To address these problems, in this paper, we develop a conceptual model of Social Manufacturing for the apparel industry. We study the current value chain of the apparel industry and identify its challenges from the sustainability's view. Then, we propose a new model to improve the sustainability throughout the value chain of the apparel industry

Nowadays, a large scale of renewable energy has been connecting to power system and the real time simulation platform is widely used to carry out research on integration control algorithm, power system stability etc. Compared to traditional pure digital simulation and hardware in the loop simulation, power in the loop simulation has higher accuracy and degree of reliability. In this paper, a power in the loop analog digital hybrid simulation platform has been built and it can be used not only for the single generation unit connecting to grid, but also for multiple new energy generation units connecting to grid. Experimental results have proved feasibility of this platform.

Chronic care manages long-term, progressive conditions, while acute care addresses short-term conditions. Chronic conditions increasingly strain health systems, which are often unprepared for these demands. This study examines the burden of conditions requiring acute versus chronic care, including sequelae. Conditions and sequelae from the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019 were classified into acute or chronic care categories. Data were analysed by age, sex, and socio-demographic index, presenting total numbers and contributions to burden metrics such as Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs), Years Lived with Disability (YLD), and Years of Life Lost (YLL). Approximately 68% of DALYs were attributed to chronic care, while 27% were due to acute care. Chronic care needs increased with age, representing 86% of YLDs and 71% of YLLs, and accounting for 93% of YLDs from sequelae. These findings highlight that chronic care needs far exceed acute care needs globally, necessitating health systems to adapt accordingly. © 2025. The Author(s).

In this paper, a two-layer hierarchical structure of optimization and control for polypropylene grade transition was raised to overcome process uncertain disturbances that led to the large deviation between the open-loop reference trajectory and the actual process. In the upper layer, the variant time scale based control vector parametric methods (VTS-CVP) was used for dynamic optimization of transition reference trajectory, while nonlinear model predictive controller (NMPC) based on closed-loop subspace and piece-wise linear (SSARX-PWL) model in the lower layer was tracking to the reference trajectory from the upper layer for overcoming high-frequency disturbances. Besides, mechanism about trajectory deviation detection and optimal trajectory updating online were introduced to ensure a smooth transition for the entire process. The proposed method was validated with the real data from an industrial double-loop propylene polymerization reaction process with developed dynamic mechanism mathematical model. © 2015 Elsevier B.V.
