With the rapid development of Chinese economy and automotive industry,urban traffic congestion has become increasingly ***,how to effectively alleviate the traffic congestion and improve the efficiency of vehicles has become the main *** signal control is one of the effective ways to solve urban traffic *** this paper,a traffic signal control method based on Action-Dependent Heuristic Dynamic Programming(ADHDP) is *** control algorithm is simulated on two intersections,both of which have two phases with four entrance *** computer simulation results show that the control method has the better ability of on-line learning compared with traditional Fix-Time control,and can effectively improve the average speed of vehicles,and reduce travel time and alleviate the traffic pressure.

To regain mobility, stroke patients need to receive repetitive and intensive therapy. Robot-assisted rehabilitation is an active area of research. Cheap robotic leg rehabilitation devices should be developed to meet the demands and assist most patients. A low cost hip-knee exoskeleton prototype powered by pneumatic muscles was developed. On this basis, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) induced paralyzed muscles to realize ankle joint rehabilitation training. As both of pneumatic muscle and FES induced muscle possess highly nonlinear characteristics, a sliding control algorithm called Chattering mitigation Robust Variable control (CRVC) was applied to leg hybrid rehabilitation. The combination of exoskeleton and FES is a promising way to reduce the cost and the complexity of designing hip-knee-ankle exoskeleton. The proposed hybrid method is verified by treadmill-based gait training experiments.

Social computing, as the technical foundation of future computational smart societies, has the potential to improve the effectiveness of opensource big data usage, systematically integrate a variety of elements including time, human, resources, scenarios, and organizations in the current cyber-physical-social world, and establish a novel social structure with fair information, equal rights, and a flat configuration. Meanwhile, considering the big modeling gap between the model world and the physical world, the concept of parallel intelligence is introduced. With the help of software-defined everything, parallel intelligence bridges the big modeling gap by means of constructing artificial systems where computational experiments can be implemented to verify social policies, economic strategies, and even military operations. Artificial systems play the role of ＂social laboratories＂ in which decisions are computed before they are executed in our physical society. Afterwards, decisions with the expected outputs are executed in parallel in both the artificial and physical systems to interactively sense, compute, evaluate and adjust system behaviors in real-time, leading system behaviors in the physical system converging to those proven to be optimal in the artificial ones. Thus, the smart guidance and management for our society can be achieved.

A cyber-physical system (CPS) is composed of a physical system and its corresponding cyber systems that are tightly fused at all scales and levels. CPS is helpful to improve the controllability, efficiency and reliability of a physical system, such as vehicle collision avoidance and zero-net energy buildings systems. It has become a hot R&D and practical area from US to EU and other countries. In fact, most of physical systems and their cyber systems are designed, built and used by human beings in the social and natural environments. So, social systems must be of the same importance as their CPSs. The indivisible cyber, physical and social parts constitute the cyber-physical-social system (CPSS), a typical complex system and it's a challengeable problem to control and manage it under traditional theories and methods. An artificial systems, computational experiments and parallel execution (ACP) methodology is introduced based on which data-driven models are applied to social system. Artificial systems, i.e., cyber systems, are applied for the equivalent description of physical-social system (PSS). Computational experiments are applied for control plan validation. And parallel execution finally realizes the stepwise control and management of CPSS. Finally, a CPSS-based intelligent transportation system (ITS) is discussed as a case study, and its architecture, three parts, and application are described in detail. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation.

Numerical simulation and disaster prevention for catastrophic fire airflow of main air-intake belt roadway in coal mine—A case study

Coal mine belt fire develops very rapidly and is difficult to control. If not suppressed quickly, a belt fire could easily lead to airflow disorder and undermine the ventilation system. However, belt fire can be prevented effectively by establishing fire airflow control system. In this work, the 5th belt roadway of Kongzhuang coal mine was taken as the object of investigation, where geometrical models of this roadway were established firstly. Then, based on mathematical model of fire smoke flow, the CO volume fraction, smoke density distribution, air temperature and pollutant velocity vector in the roadway before and after taking airflow control measures were simulated by using Fluent software. It can be known from the simulation that with the normal ventilation status in 5th belt roadway, the countercurrent of smoke does not happen when a fire occurs; the roadway's section is almost filled with CO at 10 m downstream from the fire source, and with air velocity getting stable gradually, the CO concentration reaches about 15 %. After taking airflow control measures, the effect range of temperature field which are harmful to the miners decreases from 69 m to 30 m; and the distance of the roadway fully filled with CO is 5 m farther than that before taking measures. Finally, according to the numerical simulation results and the actual condition of the belt roadway, the warning and automatic remote airflow control system with short-circuit method for the 5th belt roadway was designed to guarantee the safety production.

In this paper, we consider the internal stabilization problems of FitzHugh-Nagumo （FHN） systems on the locally finite connected weighted graphs, which describe the process of signal transmission across axons in neurobiology. We will establish the proper condition on the weighted Dirichlet-Laplace operator on a graph such that the nonlinear FHN system can be stabilized exponentially and globally only using internal actuation over a sub-domain with a linear feedback form.

Proven to be a viable and cost effective solution for ubiquitous internet access, wireless access network have proliferated at homes, offices, and cafes all over the globe. Being placed at the very edge of the computer network, with increasingly powerful computational ability, wireless access points are more and more suitable for deploying configurable and personalized services for mobile clients. In this paper we propose an intelligent wireless service framework over enhanced wireless access points (referred to as Smart Wireless Access Point) that prefetch and aggregate web contents on the wired side based on user profiles and delivery it to the user in a wireless network environment. We modify the source code of browser to enhance its data collection capabilities and develop some practical smartphone applications on the mobile client-side. Additionally, we perform some caching strategy and algorithms when a user have created considerable usage data or rated enough information. Measuring the download latency shows that DNS caching and content caching yields significant improvements in page load time. Prefetching mechanism, recommend system and some rich featured wireless local applications all benefit users much.

A modified method for analyzing authentication protocol security using Colored Petri Nets

The security problems of authentication protocol have been increasingly recognized. However, it is difficult to design an effective and secure authentication protocol for industrial networks, which is not only because of the characteristics of industrial networks, but also due to the lack of proper analysis techniques. In this paper, a modified method for analyzing authentication protocol security using Colored Petri Nets (CP-Nets) is presented. Especially, in this modified method, CPN tools is used for the construction and the analysis of CP-Nets model. The modified method is applied in the analysis of the Helsinki protocol. An attack, which is the same as the one found by G. Horng and C. K. Hsu, is found after the model checking.
