In search advertisements,advertisers have to seek for an effective allocation strategy to distribute the limited budget over a series of sequential temporal slots(e.g.,days).However,advertisers usually have no sufficient knowledge to determine the optimal budget for each temporal slot,because there exist much uncertainty in search advertising *** this paper,we present a stochastic model for budget distribution over a series of sequential temporal slots under a finite time horizon,assuming that the best budget is a random *** study some properties and feasible solutions for our model,taking the best budget being characterized by either normal distribution or uniform distribution,***,we also make some experiments to evaluate our model and identify strategies with the real-world data collected from practical advertising *** results show that a)our strategies outperform the baseline strategy that is commonly used in practice;b)the optimal budget is more likely to be normally distributed than uniformly distributed.

Refinery system, a typical example of process systems, is presented as complex network in this paper. The topology of this system is described by task-resource network and modeled as directed and weighted graph, in which nodes represent various tasks and edges denote the resources exchanged among tasks. Using the properties of node degree distribution, strength distribution and other weighted quantities, we demonstrate the heterogeneity of the network and point out the relation between structural characters of vertices and the functionality of correspond- ing tasks. The above phenomena indicate that the design requirements and principles of production process contrib- ute to the heterogeneous features of the network. Besides, betweenness centrality of nodes can be used as an impor- tance indicator to provide additional information for decision making. The correlations between structure and weighted properties are investigated to further address the influence brought by production schemes in system con- nectivity patterns. Cascading failures model is employed to analyze the robustness of the network when targeted at- tack happens. Two capacity assignment strategies are compared in order to improve the robustness of the network at certain cost. The refinery system displays more reliable behavior when the protecting strategy considers heteroge- neous properties. This phenomenon further implies the structure-activity relationship of the refinery system and provides insightful suggestions for process system design. The results also indicate that robustness analysis is a _promising applicat!on of methodologies from complex networks to process system engineering..

Budget optimization is an important issue faced by advertisers in search auctions, and has significant impact on the design of various advertising strategies. Given a limited budget on a search market during a certain period, an advertiser has to distribute her budget to a series of sequential temporal slots (i.e., days, weeks, or months), during which advertisers must avoid the budget being used up quickly, so as to keep the budget for potential clicks with better performance in the future. Considering the optimal budgets over these temporal slots as fuzzy variables, we establish a two-stage fuzzy budget allocation model, and use particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to solve it in case when these optimal budgets are characterized by discrete fuzzy variables. We also conduct experiments to validate our model and algorithm. The experimental results show that our model can outperform other five budget allocation strategies in terms of reducing the revenue loss of the advertiser.

Time synchronization protocols are widely used in industrialcontrolsystems. As the development of network technology, various types of attacks have occurred. Among them, delay attacks are less studied. In this paper, we described an effective way for delay attacks which were achieved by a Man-In-The-Middle attack of asymmetric delays. To find inherent relationships between attackers and defenders, we proposed a two-person noncooperative game theoretic model. Based on Expected Utility Maximization, the mixed-strategy Nash equilibrium(NE) was resolved. The expression of probability distribution under NE indicates potential relationships between mixed-strategy probability distributions, attack costs, defence costs, and provides evidence for security and risk management professionals.
