With the development of traffic demand management, crowd flow forecasting arouse increasing interest. In order to tackle this spatial-temporal prediction problem, GNN (Graph Neural Networks) have been recently employed to model spatial dependencies, and usually spatial graphs are constructed based on geodetic distances or direct connections between nodes. However, it might be insufficient for spatial graphs to model real dependencies because they neglect spatial-temporal correlations. In this paper, a novel Temporal-Difference Spatial Sampling and Aggregating graph neural network (TDSSA) is proposed to model spatial-temporal dependencies. Firstly, a new sub-sparse spatial-temporal graph is constructed to represent spatial-temporal relationships among different nodes, then a TDSSA block is designed to extract features by spatial sampling and aggregating, and difference is utilized in TDSSA blocks to exploit temporal trend and increase robustness. Experiments show that the proposed method outperforms baseline methods.

With most countries paying attention to the environment protection, hybrid electric vehicles have become a focus of automobile research and development due to the characteristics of energy saving and low emission. Power follower control strategy(PFCS) and DC-link voltage control strategy are two sorts of control strategies for series hybrid electric vehicles(HEVs). Combining those two control strategies is a new idea for control strategy of series hybrid electric vehicles. By tuning essential parameters which are the defined constants under DClink voltage control and under PFCS, the points of minimum mass of equivalent fuel consumption(EFC) corresponding to a series of variables are marked for worldwide harmonized light vehicles test procedure(WLTP). The fuel economy of series HEVs with the combination control schemes performs better compared with individual control scheme. The results show the effects of the combination control schemes for series HEVs driving in an urban environment.

Aiming to deal with the challenge of data security and data pricing in data trading markets, we propose the novel multi-blockchain-based framework and design the related pricing mechanisms. Specifically, data recording and trading are conducted separately in the Data Blockchain (DChain) and the Value Blockchain (VChain). Based on these blockchains, two-layer data trading markets are established to manage the initial data trading in the primary market and the data resale in the secondary market. Pricing mechanisms are proposed to protect the formulated data trading markets against strategic trading behaviors and balance the payoffs of both suppliers and users. In the regular data trading on VChain-S2D, two auction models are used to deal with users' strategic bidding in terms of the demand scale, where the incentive-compatible Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG) model is dedicated to the low-demand trading scenario, while the nearly incentive-compatible Monopolistic Price (MP) model is for the high-demand trading scenario. In the temporary data trading on VChain-D2S, a reverse auction mechanism named Two-Stage Obscure Selection (TSOS) is designed to regulate both suppliers' quoting and users' valuation strategies. Moreover, experiments are carried out to validate our theoretical analysis. Our work is expected to enhance the data security and improve the trading efficiency. © 2022, The Authors. In this paper, we propose the innovative use of intelligent Vehicle Carriers (IVCs) as a key solution to address the energy constraints of small-scale unmanned intelligent Vehicles (IVs). IVCs function as both transporters and charging stations, significantly boosting the operational range and efficiency of IVs. Our research delves into the IV-IVC collaborative framework, highlighting the existing challenges, exploring potential solutions, and examining a range of applications. This study offers a visionary approach to revolutionizing intelligent transportation systems by leveraging the synergistic relationship between IVs and IVCs.

In this paper, we propose a feature selection method that characterizes the difference between two kinds of probability distributions. The key idea is to view the feature selection problem as a sparsest k-subgraph problem that considers Wasserstein distance between the studied two probability distributions. Our method does not presume any specific parametric models on the data distribution and is non-parametric. It outperforms existing Kullback-Leibler divergence based approaches, since we do not require two distributions to overlap. This relaxation makes our method work in many problems in which Kullback-Leibler divergence based methods fail. We also design a fast calculation algorithm using dynamic programming. Our experimental results show that our method outperforms the current method in both computation accuracy and speed.

In the Bitcoin system, transaction fees serve not only as the fundamental economic incentive to stimulate miners, but also as an important tuner for the Bitcoin system to define the priorities in the transaction confirmation process. In this paper, we aim to study the priority rules for queueing transactions based on their associated fees, and in turn users' decision-making in formulating their fees in the transaction confirmation queueing game. Based on the queueing theory, we first analyzed the waiting time of users under non-preemptive limited multi-priority (LMP) rule, which is formulated to adjust users' waiting time over different priorities. We then established a game-theoretical model, and analyze users' equilibrium fee decisions. Towards the end, we conducted computational experiments to validate the theoretical analysis. Our research findings can not only help understand users' fee decisions under the LMP rule, but also offer useful managerial insights in optimizing the queueing rules of Bitcoin transactions. © 2019 IEEE.

Most conventional crowd counting methods utilize a fully-supervised learning framework to establish a mapping between scene images and crowd density maps. They usually rely on a large quantity of costly and time-intensive pixel-level annotations for training supervision. One way to mitigate the intensive labeling effort and improve counting accuracy is to leverage large amounts of unlabeled images. This is attributed to the inherent self-structural information and rank consistency within a single image, offering additional qualitative relation supervision during training. Contrary to earlier methods that utilized the rank relations at the original image level, we explore such rank-consistency relation within the latent feature spaces. This approach enables the incorporation of numerous pyramid partial orders, strengthening the model representation capability. A notable advantage is that it can also increase the utilization ratio of unlabeled samples. Specifically, we propose a Deep Rank-consistEnt pyrAmid Model (DREAM), which makes full use of rank consistency across coarse-to-fine pyramid features in latent spaces for enhanced crowd counting with massive unlabeled images. In addition, we have collected a new unlabeled crowd counting dataset, FUDAN-UCC, comprising 4,000 images for training purposes. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets, namely UCF-QNRF, ShanghaiTech PartA and PartB, and UCF-CC-50, show the effectiveness of our method compared with previous semi-supervised methods. Polysilicon is mainly obtained by chemical vapor deposition(CVD) reaction, in which hydrogen gas and trichlorosilane(TCS) are fed into the CVD reactor to produce polysilicon. However, the feeding parameters are mainly adjusted in a step-by-step manner according to the actual deposition results, which is inefficient to optimize and prone to resource wastage. In this paper, based on the existing mechanistic model of the CVD reactor, we combine the history data with the specific parameters to construct a simulator. A random search algorithm is used to determine the optimal feeding parameters. With the simulator, the polysilicon productivity can be increased by 704 kg, and the power consumption reduced by 3.8 kWh/kg. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Sliding sequential CVAE with time variant socially-aware rethinking for trajectory prediction

Pedestrian trajectory prediction is a key technology in many applications such as video surveillance, social robot navigation, and autonomous driving, and significant progress has been made in this research topic. However, there remain two limitations of previous studies. First, with the continuation of time, the prediction error at each time step increases significantly, causing the final displacement error to be impossible to ignore. Second, the prediction results of multiple pedestrians might be impractical in the prediction horizon, i.e., the predicted trajectories might collide with each other. To overcome these limitations, this work proposes a novel trajectory prediction method called CSR, which consists of a cascaded conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE) module and a socially-aware regression module. The cascaded CVAE module first estimates the future trajectories in a sequential pattern. Specifically, each CVAE concatenates the past trajectories and the predicted points so far as the input and predicts the location at the following time step. Then, the socially-aware regression module generates offsets from the estimated future trajectories to produce the socially compliant final predictions, which are more reasonable and accurate results than the estimated trajectories. Moreover, considering the large model parameters of the cascaded CVAE module, a slide CVAE module is further exploited to improve the model efficiency using one shared CVAE, in a slidable manner. Experiments results demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits improvements over state-of-the-art method on the Stanford Drone Dataset (SDD) and ETH/UCY of approximately 38.0% and 22.2%, respectively. © 2021, CC BY.
