Adaptive Current protection Technology for Distribution Network with Distributed power Sources Based on Local Information

Because the distributed power supply is connected to the distribution network, its structure has also changed the original traditional method. The original single power supply method was originally used. The network provided is a radial network and it is connected to the distributed power supply. Later, it became a structure with small- and medium-sized power supplies inside, and its network power supply became dual or multiple power supplies. Such a structural change affected the coordination of power distribution protection devices, which would impose current on the distribution network. protection has a negative impact. This paper aims to study the adaptive current protection technology of distribution network with distributed power based on local information. On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of distributed power, the classification of distributed power, and the operation mode of distributed power, according to the access of IIDG, as well as different influences of relay protection of distribution network, an improved protection scheme with adaptive current quick-break protection as the main protection is proposed, so that different fault characteristics of the distribution network have different setting values, and then simulation experiments are carried out on this scheme. The experimental results show that the setting value of three-phase short-circuit fault proposed in this paper can well protect the protection range, which is larger than the traditional protection setting and self-adaptive setting. © 2021 Shijie Cui et al.

To address the problems still existing in line protection for flexible DC grids currently, this paper proposes a non-unit frequency-based line protection scheme for flexible DC grids. Firstly, the values of the initial voltage traveling waves (IVTWs) generated by the fault point under internal and external faults are respectively calculated based on the equivalent model of the four-terminal flexible DC grid. Due to the boundary effect of the current limiting inductors on both ends of DC lines, the attenuation rates of the IVTWs with the increase of frequency under internal and external faults have different characteristics. The detail coefficients of the IVTW in different frequency bands are extracted by stationary wavelet transform at different scales, and the amplitudes of the IVTW in different frequency bands are expressed by wavelet transform modulus maximums (WTMMs). A criterion to identify internal and external faults is constructed based on the square of the frequency-domain equivalent attenuation rate of the IVTW. Lastly, simulation results under diverse fault conditions validate the availability of the proposed protection method.

Extreme disasters seriously threaten power system security and stable operation. power system resilience is an important means to evaluate the system response to low probability and high impact events. This paper proposes a resilience enhancement strategy based on cyber physical power system to cope with extreme natural disasters and restore the power system. At first, a defense framework for natural disaster is given to show stages and techniques used in resilience enhancement strategy. Secondly, a zone division based power flow adjustment method is proposed to adjust the transmission power with high failure probability, which can reduce the risk of cascading failures. Finally, two resilience evaluation functions considering load restoration and equipment restoration are proposed respectively to guild collaborative communication lines and transmission lines restoration. Simulation results of the New England 39-bus test system demonstrate the effectiveness.

With the development of HVDC transmission and changes of load composition and characteristics, the short-term voltage problem seriously threatens the safety and stable operation of power systems. A short-term voltage stability assessment method based on deep learning neural network for AC/DC receiving-end power grid is proposed in this paper. The stacked denoising autoencoder (SDAE) and adaptive moment estimation (ADAM) algorithms are used to build a rapid evaluation model, and the training sample set is used to train the transient voltage stability rapid evaluation model. The steady-state power flow features are used as inputs and an index of quantifying short-term voltage stability of commutation bus is utilized as the output. Simulation results of real multi-infeed AC/DC power grid demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

With the deepening of the concept of autonomous control in the power system, more and more attention is paid to the stability of the protection device itself. Compared with the primary equipment condition monitoring, the fault of the secondary protection device will be more concealed. This paper analyzes the factors affecting the reliability of protection devices, forms the life cycle prediction method of substation protection devices, and ensures the safe and stable operation of intelligent substation. Analyzed the reliability of the relay protection device related concepts, from the failure mechanism, through the establishment of joint aging failure based on the Arrhenius model and Weibull distribution model, and based on grid relay protection device, the data is using LM method for joint failure rate estimate the parameters of the model, get old equipment failure rate model of concrete, to determine the reliability of the protection device and the effective service life. An example shows that the model proposed in this paper can effectively predict the failure trend and life boundary of the device, and provide a theoretical basis for the daily maintenance of smart substation.

The casting material of modified hub in a certain assembling unit was made from 20SiMn Furthermore, it used the puddle welding technology to generate 390L cladding as the surface of hub to improve its anti-cavitation ability. Nevertheless, quality issues were still spotted on the overlay of hubs in ex-factory acceptance. On the one hand, the detecting defects existed in the penetration test; on the other hand, the hardness test was ineligible. After turning off the defective surface, the inner puddle welding layer remained similar defects. Therefore, the surface overlay of hubs was completely turned off and then processed by puddle welding method so as to ensure the overall quality of the hubs.

With the increase of proportion of renewable energy, the uncertainty in power system is significantly increased, and the security operation of power system is facing more challenges. In traditional economic dispatch model, the unit output and load are expressed by constant power, which ignores the automatic regulation effect during system operation. And the transmission system and distribution system are separated optimized, the coordination effect is not considered. In this paper, a new dynamic economic dispatch model is proposed and the automatic regulation effect and transmission-distribution coordination are considered, which can improve the renewable energy accommodation and enhance the system operation security and economics. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed model are illustrated by case studies.

In the context of building a new power system with new energy as the main part, the operation mode of distribution network is more complex, and the traditional distribution network protection strategy can hardly meet the demand, so this paper proposes a distributed intelligent protection strategy for distribution network based on reinforcement learning. This paper analyzes the impact of new energy resources access on distribution network relay protection, and presents an intelligent protection algorithm model based on deep reinforcement learning. The structure of intelligent protection device is designed, and the distribution network distributed protection scheme based on intelligent protection device is proposed. Finally, the algorithm training process is given, and the experimental environment is built.

The growing integration of distributed generation (DG) has changed the operation characteristics of traditional distribution network, and so the active distribution network (ADN) has emerged. Fault recovery is significant to reduce the loss of power failure, but the traditional control strategy without consideration of DG is no longer suitable for ADN. An improved fault recovery strategy is proposed to coordinate the fault reclosing and the low voltage ride through (LVRT) capability of DG. The influence of fault reclosing on the voltage variation of the point of common coupling (PCC) of DG is analyzed, with different relative locations of fault and PCC, and a critical LVRT voltage is extracted from the scenario where fault reclosing fails. In order to avoid DG outage, a blocking criterion of fault reclosing is presented according to the fault location and the first voltage dip of PCC. Then, the ADN can be split into planned islands considering the balance of DG power and loads and the load priorities, once the fault reclosing is blocked. Moreover, the WAMS Light is implemented for high-speed synchronous data collection and online central control. A case study is conducted to verify the effectiveness of proposed approach. © 2019 Institution of Engineering and Technology. All rights reserved.

The phase information of single-phase electric meter is crucial to improve the level of load management and the quality of modeling. A method for single-phase electric meter phase discrimination based on multiple linear regression (MLR) is proposed. The MLR equation takes the single-phase electric meter voltage as the dependent variable. Meanwhile, it takes the gateway meter voltage, the gateway meter current and the single-phase electric meter current as the independent variables. Each single-phase meter forms a regression equation with the gateway meter A, B and C respectively. The determination coefficients of the three regression equations are calculated. According to the value of the coefficients, the phase of single-phase electric meter is discriminated. An example is given to analyze the proposed method with actual energy meter reading data. The analysis results show that the proposed method has higher accuracy and reliability. © 2019 IEEE.
