Analysis of non-Markovian passive quantum linear systems’ response to single-photon input fields*

In this paper, we analyze the response of passive quantum linear systems in a non-Markovian environment to single photon input fields. Based on an augmented modelling method for non-Markovian quantum systems, analytic forms of output intensity and output covariance function in steady-state are derived. These results allow us to quantitatively analyze the influence of non-Markovian environment on system response under a framework of linear system theory.

The range and velocity of a moving object can be ascertained using the sensing technique known as light detection and ranging (lidar). It has recently been suggested that quantum lidar, which uses entangled states of light, can enhance the capabilities of lidar. Entangled pulsed light is used in prior quantum lidar approaches to assess both range and velocity at the same time using the time of flight and Doppler shift. However, the detection of entangled pulsed light is often inefficient and constrained by the temporal resolution of the detectors. Here, we investigate a quantum lidar utilizing a linear interferometer operating on a frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) instead of pulses. Our findings demonstrate that the quantum FMCW lidar enables simultaneous measurements of range and velocity with quantum-enhanced accuracy and resolution, as well as superresolution phase imaging. Through self-heterodyne detection with a linear optical design, the signals of the quantum FMCW lidar with entangled photon pair can be efficiently carried out electronically by down-converting the optical signal to the microwave region. As a result, it is better suited for practical implementations.

In response to the identification problem of nonlinear systems with harmonic input, this paper studies the identification effect of the different splicing way of the multi-harmonic input based model identification approach. In this method, the relationship between the input and output signals of the nonlinear system is represented by the Nonlinear Auto-Regressive model with exogenous inputs (NARX) model. Firstly, the modeling framework of the NARX model based on the multi-harmonic input method is introduced. Then the effect of the different splicing way contained sequence and period of splicing data on modeling results is researched and proved in theoretically. Finally, a case study is discussed to simultaneously validate that the different multi-harmonic signal splicing forms have no effect on the identification results. © 2020, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Text-to-image generative models can produce diverse high-quality images of concepts with a text prompt, which have demonstrated excellent ability in image generation, image translation, etc. We in this work study the problem of synthesizing instantiations of a user's own concepts in a never-ending manner, i.e., create your world, where the new concepts from user are quickly learned with a few examples. To achieve this goal, we propose a Lifelong text-to-image Diffusion Model (L2DM), which intends to overcome knowledge "catastrophic forgetting" for the past encountered concepts, and semantic "catastrophic neglecting" for one or more concepts in the text prompt. In respect of knowledge "catastrophic forgetting", our L2DM framework devises a task-aware memory enhancement module and a elastic-concept distillation module, which could respectively safeguard the knowledge of both prior concepts and each past personalized concept. When generating images with a user text prompt, the solution to semantic "catastrophic neglecting" is that a concept attention artist module can alleviate the semantic neglecting from concept aspect, and an orthogonal attention module can reduce the semantic binding from attribute aspect. To the end, our model can generate more faithful image across a range of continual text prompts in terms of both qualitative and quantitative metrics, when comparing with the related state-of-the-art models. Virtual Reality is an important development direction in recent years. Minecraft, a popular sandbox game, has a great potential to become a virtual reality platform for building immersive environments. Traditional methods of building virtual reality scenes rely heavily on massive human labors and require high levels of proficiency. To address these limitations, we propose an automatic, voxelated 3D modeling method with foreground and background environment segmented that can reduce modeling costs and achieve effective application in Minecraft virtual reality scenes such as virtual campuses. The proposed method leverages the use of point cloud reconstruction using a voxelization approach. A pipeline of converting point cloud to Minecraft scene is developed. Through preprocessing, segmenting, coloring, and exporting, a Minecraft virtual reality scene can be automatically generated based on voxel point cloud. Due to the noise in point cloud may cause defect during voxelization, a denoising and smoothing method using slice scanning and voxel connectivity segmentation has been implemented. It can generate building structures with clear outlines and uniform colors. And the entire process requires low computational complexity and achieves fast generation. We conducted experiments based on this method in indoor scenes, outdoor building landmarks, and complex underground scenes, and obtained results with clear structures and smooth surfaces, saving a lot of time for subsequent detailed modeling. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RefineMask: Towards high-quality instance segmentation with fine-grained features

The two-stage methods for instance segmentation, e.g. Mask R-CNN, have achieved excellent performance recently. However, the segmented masks are still very coarse due to the downsampling operations in both the feature pyramid and the instance-wise pooling process, especially for large objects. In this work, we propose a new method called RefineMask for high-quality instance segmentation of objects and scenes, which incorporates fine-grained features during the instance-wise segmenting process in a multi-stage manner. Through fusing more detailed information stage by stage, RefineMask is able to refine high-quality masks consistently. RefineMask succeeds in segmenting hard cases such as bent parts of objects that are over-smoothed by most previous methods and outputs accurate boundaries. Without bells and whistles, RefineMask yields significant gains of 2.6, 3.4, 3.8 AP over Mask R-CNN on COCO, LVIS, and Cityscapes benchmarks respectively at a small amount of additional computational cost. Furthermore, our single-model result outperforms the winner of the LVIS Challenge 2020 by 1.3 points on the LVIS test-dev set and establishes a new state-of-the-art. The stable and economical operation of renewable-rich microgrids poses unprecedented challenges for the future. Effective energy storage planning is critical for addressing the inherent volatility of renewable energy. In this context, we propose a two-stage robust planning model for hybrid energy storage systems including thermal and battery energy. Our model demonstrates that an appropriately sized battery energy storage system can provide reserve power for grid-forming converters, thereby mitigating the derating of renewable energy output and enhancing the overall economic efficiency of the energy system. We construct the uncertain set using a novel data-based methodology and develop an unnested column-and-constraint generation (C&CG) approach to achieve accurate solutions. This approach enhances computational efficiency by circumventing the complexities associated with nested structures. Case studies indicate that the average solution time for the unnested C&CG algorithm is reduced by over 20% compared to traditional nested C&CG methods.

The research of image deblurring plays an important role in the digital image *** order to reduce image blurring problems,a content constraint loss（CCL） function in the generative adversarial network（GAN）is *** SSIM loss and the perceptual loss constitute the CCL function,which makes the trained generative model *** CCL function as the content constraint loss component and the adversarial loss component constitute the total *** total loss is optimized by the iterative training to further improve the stability of the network model,and the image blurring will be *** the test experiment of the open source image dataset MNIST,CIFAR10/100 and CELEBA,the CCL function is used as the content constraint loss component of the generative adversarial network,the effect of image deblurring has obvious promotion in the structural similarity measure and visual appearance.

Preventing and controlling Low-Slow-Small(LSS) targets are problems to be solved due to their good concealment in urban environment. Consequently, the problem of target assignment is studied in this paper. Firstly, a target assignment model based on heterogeneous sensor networks is proposed. The characteristics of LSS targets and the influence of environmental factors such as climate and terrain are considered on this model. At the same time, the detection capabilities of different detection nodes and collaborative tracking capabilities are also considered. Secondly, an intelligent optimization algorithm GSAPSO based on PSO is proposed to maximize tracking effect of the sensors. Finally, the simulations are used to compare the GSAPSO algorithm with the traditional PSO and GAPSO algorithms. The results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has better tracking effect.
