In this modern era, technology has advanced to such an extent to make our daily life more proficient and convenient. This paper presents the design and implementation of vending machine (VM) for students, which operates on radio frequency identification technology (RFID). Hence, it turns the VM into smart shopping booth (SSB). The SSB gives the access only through RFID card and vend different products according to the desire of student. The SSB is equipped with RFID reader and student identity card that holds the RFID tag. When the student identity card is scanned for verification and then after selecting the required products, will be dispensed off if a student has available balance in his/her identity card and SMS will be sent to students about remaining balance in their cards by GSM technology. The programming for controller is done by using proton IDE language. The SSB is the customized idea of vending machine and it attempts to resolve various issues that appeared in coin/note based VM. The student identity card RFID based technology is a breakthrough towards a paperless and cashless environment. Moreover, it is very beneficial in saving the precious time of students due to fast paced life and also user friendly. RFID based SSB also improved the communication and sensing capabilities of VM. Hence, our suggested approach outperforms in all aspects.

Angle-domain approach for parameter estimation in high-mobility OFDM with fully/partly calibrated massive ULA

In this paper, we consider a downlink orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system from a base station to a high-speed train (HST) equipped with fully/partly calibrated massive uniform linear antenna-array (ULA) in wireless environments with abundant scatterers. Multiple Doppler frequency offsets (DFOs) stemming from intensive propagation paths together with transceiver oscillator frequency offset (OFO) result in a fast time-varying frequency-selective channel. We develop an angle domain carrier frequency offset (CFO, general designation for DFO and OFO) estimation approach. A high-resolution beamforming network is designed to separate different DFOs into a set of parallel branches in angle domain such that each branch is mainly affected by a single dominant DFO. Then, a joint estimation algorithm for both maximum DFO and OFO is developed for fully calibrated ULA. Next, its estimation mean square error (MSE) performance is analyzed under inter-subarray mismatches. To mitigate the detrimental effects of inter-subarray mismatches, we introduce a calibration-oriented beamforming parameter (COBP) and develop the corresponding modified joint estimation algorithm for partly calibrated ULA. Moreover, the Cramér-Rao lower bound of CFO estimation is derived. Both theoretical and numerical results are provided to corroborate the proposed method. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. The pipeline network interfered by the stray currents has been verified to be a complex nonlinear dynamical *** paper shows that the chaotic characteristic could be utilized in the stray currents *** prove this,this paper establishes an equivalent chaotic control *** we analyze this model by using Melnikov method and find out the condition under which the chaotic phenomenon will be *** order to get a sufficient proof for identifying the conclusion,simulation experiments are used to verify the validity of the control method.

Electro-thermal coupling theory can be used as an effective tool to analyse the thermal characteristics of power cables. As the carrier for transmitting electrical power, cables can convey alternating current(AC) as well as direct current(DC) and have different thermal characteristics under different current forms. This paper analyses the ampacity of electric cables based on electro-thermal coupling, and compares the influence of the thermal resistance of different materials in the cable. Case study reveals the thermal characteristics under different current forms by simulating temperature variations of the two cables.

With the continuous development of smart grid, the automation degree of power system continues to improve. The number of measurement-calculating and decision-controlling units of the power grid has greatly increased, and the scale of the power information network has become larger and larger. The stable operation of the power system is inseparable from the real-time dispatch of its information system. As the key infrastructure, power system has a huge impact on national security, economic development and social stability, and has become one of the key targets of terrorist destruction. In view of the fact that information network and power network integrate with each other currently, this paper focus on the functions of the power control center, modeling information systems together with physical systems. Considering that the power system has suffered multiple disturbances corresponding to information and physics, the quantitative analysis method is used to simulate the dynamic evolution process after the accident, and the loss of load is used as the evaluation index to analyze the vulnerability of the power system, to find the vulnerable components of the power grid. So effective protection measures can be taken to reduce the loss of the power system after this type of destruction. The constructed model is solved by mixed integer nonlinear programming method. IEEE Reliability Test system-24 verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of this model.

This paper presents a novel Kriged Compressive Sensing (KCS) approach for the reconstruction of underwater acoustic intensity fields sampled by multiple gliders following sawtooth sampling patterns. Blank areas in between the sampling trajectories may cause unsatisfying reconstruction results. The KCS method leverages spatial statistical correlation properties of the acoustic intensity field being sampled to improve the compressive reconstruction process. Virtual data samples generated from a kriging method are inserted into the blank areas. We show that by using the virtual samples along with real samples, the acoustic intensity field can be reconstructed with higher accuracy when coherent spatial patterns exist. Corresponding algorithms are developed for both unweighted and weighted KCS methods. By distinguishing the virtual samples from real samples through weighting, the reconstruction results can be further improved. Simulation results show that both algorithms can improve the reconstruction results according to the PSNR and SSIM metrics. The methods are applied to process the ocean ambient noise data collected by the Sea-Wing acoustic gliders in the South China Sea. © 2018 Association for Computing Machinery.

This paper focuses on the robust semi-global coordinated tracking of general linear systems subject to input saturation together with input additive disturbance and dead zone. A fully distributed algorithm which relating only with the number of the following agents and the relative state information of its neighbors is first constructed, and then sufficient conditions guaranteeing the robust semi-global consensus tracking and the robust semi-global swarm tracking are provided, respectively, on the basis of the low-and-high feedback technique. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results. © 2017

Control of aerial manipulation has attracted increasing attention in robotics these years. It is still a challenge to precisely control the manipulator under the influence of dynamical motion coupling between the aerial platform and manipulator. In this paper we develop a hybrid visual servoing approach for aerial manipulators to complete aerial manipulations. The hybrid controller integrates both advantages of the image-based and position-based visual servoing controllers; it ensures the target features staying in the field of view as well as guaranteeing the global convergence of error. Furthermore, to address the singularity problem existing in the flexible aerial manipulator, a SVD-based variant damped least square solution is developed. Experiments are performed on a custom-built aerial manipulator which consists of a 6-DoF serial manipulator and a coaxial octocopter. The experimental results have illustrated the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
