Building Graphical User Interface (GUI) agents is a promising research direction, which simulates human interaction with computers or mobile phones to perform diverse GUI tasks. However, a major challenge in developing generalized GUI agents is the lack of sufficient trajectory data across various operating systems and applications, mainly due to the high cost of manual annotations. In this paper, we propose the TongUI framework that builds generalized GUI agents by learning from rich multimodal web tutorials. Concretely, we crawl and process online GUI tutorials (such as videos and articles) into GUI agent trajectory data, through which we produce the GUI-Net dataset containing 143K trajectory data across five operating systems and more than 200 applications. We develop the TongUI agent by fine-tuning Qwen2.5-VL-3B/7B models on GUI-Net, which show remarkable performance improvements on commonly used grounding and navigation benchmarks, outperforming baseline agents about 10% on multiple benchmarks, showing the effectiveness of the GUI-Net dataset and underscoring the significance of our TongUI framework. Targeted Pareto Optimization for Subset Selection With Monotone Objective Function and Cardinality Constraint

Subset selection, a fundamental problem in various domains, is to choose a subset of elements from a large candidate set under a given objective or multiple objectives. Pareto optimization for subset selection (POSS) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for addressing subset selection problems. Recently, some POSS variants have been proposed to further improve its performance. In this paper, we propose a new POSS variant, named Targeted Pareto Optimization for Subset Selection (TPOSS). TPOSS differs from POSS in four aspects: problem formulation, population initialization, mutation, and environmental selection. The main idea of TPOSS is to focus the search on the target region of subset selection with respect to the subset cardinality in order to improve the search efficiency. We conduct comprehensive experiments to compare TPOSS with six state-of-the-art algorithms on three subset selection tasks (i.e., sparse regression, unsupervised feature selection, and hypervolume subset selection) where the size of the candidate sets ranges from 20 to 400. Experimental results show that with respect to the objective value of the best feasible subset, TPOSS outperforms the other algorithms on all the three tasks, which suggests the potential of TPOSS to enhance subset selection in various domains. Rib fractures are common injuries that pose significant risks, necessitating rapid and accurate diagnosis. Traditional chest CT radiographic diagnostic techniques are highly dependent on the manual reading of images. The process is labor-intensive, highly experience-dependent, and less accurate, prompting the need for advanced methods based on artificial intelligence. To solve this problem, this study demonstrates a novel automated rib multiplanar reconstruction method that integrates object detection and tracking algorithms, specifically YOLO-X and ByteTrack. A dataset of 200 patients from Tongji Medical College, including 88 with rib fractures and 112 normal, is utilized to train and validate the algorithm model. Superior performance with high precision (0.993), recall (0.995), and mAP (0.994) can be achieved by YOLOv10-ByteTrack integration. The tracking algorithm improves the success rate by over 30 %, with a statistical error reduction of nearly 70%, greatly enhancing the detection accuracy. This study represents a significant step forward in computerized tomography reconstruction, provides a reliable solution for rib fracture diagnosis, and addresses limitations of traditional MPR, contributing to both scientific research and clinical practice. © 2024 IEEE.

A four-port multi-input multi-output (MIMO) dielectric resonator (DR) antenna (DRA) is presented in this paper. Combing four rectangular DRs together can form a single DR element. With shape modification and conformal strips, the four ports can be decoupled. To verify the design idea, a transparent prototype can be designed and fabricated for 2.4-GHz band applications. The measured results show an impedance bandwidth of 5.8% and an isolation level of 24 dB. © 2024 IEEE.

To improve meta-generalization, i.e., accommodating out-of-domain meta-testing tasks beyond meta-training ones, is of significance to extending the success of meta-learning beyond standard benchmarks. Previous heterogeneous meta-learning algorithms have shown that tailoring the global meta-knowledge by the learned clusters during meta-training promotes better meta-generalization to novel meta-testing tasks. Inspired by this, we propose a novel multi-objective perspective to sharpen the compositionality of the meta-trained clusters, through which we have empirically validated that the meta-generalization further improves. Grounded on the hierarchically structured meta-learning framework, we formulate a hypervolume loss to evaluate the degree of conflict between multiple cluster-conditioned parameters in the two-dimensional loss space over two randomly chosen tasks belonging to two clusters and two mixed tasks imitating out-of-domain tasks. Experimental results on more than 16 few-shot image classification datasets show not only improved performance on out-of-domain meta-testing datasets but also better clusters in visualization.

As smart cities evolve, rising computational demands strain infrastructures. Offloading tasks to edge cloud data centers offers potential but faces challenges like high latency, energy use, and data leakage, especially in dense urban areas. This paper presents a low-latency, energy-efficient digital twin (DT) architecture tailored for smart cities, integrating edge computing (EC) and multiple intelligent reflective surfaces (IRS) to enhance communication. Dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) technology is considered for user devices to reduce energy consumption. To mitigate the risk of user privacy leakage during task offloading, we address sensitive user location data that may be exposed by proposing a perturbed sliding task queue (PSTQ) algorithm based on differential privacy (DP), and demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm. To optimize task processing time and energy efficiency, we decompose the complex problem using block coordinate descent and propose an intelligent scheduling for energy sustainability (ISES) algorithm based on Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions and deep reinforcement learning (DRL). Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed architecture and algorithms achieve over 90% improvement in key optimization objectives, alleviating the computational pressure on existing devices while significantly enhancing task processing efficiency and energy sustainability. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

The phase difference Δξ between locked islands(2/1 and 3/1) has been found to influence the heat transport on the thermal quench during disruptions by numerical modeling [Hu Q et al *** 59,016005].To verify this experimentally,a set of resonant magnetic perturbation(RMP) coils is required to excite coupled magnetic islands with different Δξ.The spectrum analysis shows that the current RMP coils on J-TEXT can only produce sufficient 2/1 and 3/1RMP fields with a limited phase difference of Δξ∈[-75°,75°].In order to broaden the adjustable range of Δξ,a set of coils on the high field side(HFS) is proposed to generate 2/1 and 3/1 RMP fields with Δξ=180°.As a result,RMPs with adjustable Δξ∈[-180°,180°] and sufficient amplitudes could be achieved by applying the HFS coils and the low field side(LFS)*** work provides a feasible solution for flexible adjustment of the phase difference between m and m+1 RMP,which might facilitate the study of major disruptions and their control.

Leveraging Timbre Semantic Descriptors for Cross-Dataset Instrument Recognition

Timbre, a perceptual attribute of musical sound, plays a critical role in both instrument recognition and timbre perception research. However, these fields are rarely integrated, and as a result, their findings rarely benefit one another. This study investigates how integrating timbre semantic descriptors as an auxiliary task can enhance musical instrument recognition under challenging cross-dataset conditions via multi-task learning (MTL). A standard flat MTL framework is introduced, alongside an asymmetric MTL proposed to amplify the influence of timbre semantic descriptors on instrument recognition. Experiments are conducted on Western and Chinese instrument datasets to evaluate cross-cultural performance. The results demonstrate significant improvements on both datasets using the flat MTL, with further analysis revealing the varying contributions of individual timbre descriptors and demonstrating its robustness across different hyperparameter settings. The asymmetric MTL achieves additional performance gains on Western datasets but not on Chinese ones. A dedicated analysis is carried out to investigate this discrepancy, offering insights into potential dataset-specific or cultural challenges.
