The liquid crystal display (LCD) continues to hold a prominent position in the display industry. These years' key research topic is the fringe field effect, which aims to improve the LCD's performance. A new LCD structure utilizing the fringe field effect has been identified as a promising solution. This structure allows for the control of the electromagnetic field of the liquid crystal cell by regulating the voltage of the ring-shaped and circular-patch cell (RCC). This innovative structure is comprised of nematic liquid crystals (LCs) with negative dielectric anisotropy, a two-electrode system consisting of a ring-shaped ITO structure on the top layer and a circular patch structure on the bottom layer, and a SiO2 porous structure. Finite element simulation tests have verified the electric field strength, transmittance, and contrast of the cell and the 2x2 matrix structure, meeting the design objectives. This paper presents ULTRAEDIT, a large-scale (~4M editing samples), automatically generated dataset for instruction-based image editing. Our key idea is to address the drawbacks in existing image editing datasets like InstructPix2Pix [10] and MagicBrush [71], and provide a systematic approach to producing massive and high-quality image editing samples. ULTRAEDIT offers several distinct advantages: 1) It features a broader range of editing instructions by leveraging the creativity of large language models (LLMs) alongside in-context editing examples from human raters;2) Its data sources are based on real images, including photographs and artworks, which provide greater diversity and reduced bias compared to datasets solely generated by text-to-image models;3) It also supports region-based editing, enhanced by high-quality, automatically produced region annotations. Our experiments show that canonical diffusion-based editing baselines trained on ULTRAEDIT set new records on MagicBrush and Emu-Edit benchmarks. Our analysis further confirms the crucial role of real image anchors and region-based editing data. Wearable devices are currently being used to reduce metabolism and assist people with disabilities for daily walking. For the elderly and disabled people, improving the walking stability of wearable devices is a crucial and unsolved research. In particular, the center of mass (CoM) trajectory can reflect the walking state as well as the stability of a person. For this reason, realizing the prediction of CoM trajectory under daily walking is promising to improve the wearable devices. In this article, a method for estimation and prediction of CoM during daily walking was proposed. A visual-inertial-odometry algorithm was used to obtain history CoM trajectories during walking, and the depth information from camera data was extracted by sequential distance embedding method and encode the information into terrain vectors. The trajectory vectors were patched with the corresponding terrain vectors and then realized the fusion of multi-modal data, which were then fed into a well-trained temporal convolution network to output the prediction results. With data from two outdoor datasets, the method in this paper was verified to be able to be used for CoM trajectory prediction for a variety of walking tasks and consume low computational cost. This method has the potential to be extensible in improving the stability of wearable devices, such as exoskeleton, powered prosthetic, and so on. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

The role that visual discriminative ability plays among giant pandas in social communication and individual discrimination has received less attention than olfactory and auditory ***,we used an eye-tracker technology to investigate pupil fixation patterns for 8 captive male giant pandas Ailuropoda *** paired images(N=26)of conspecifics against:1)sympatric predators(gray wolves and tigers),and non-threatening sympatric species(golden pheasant,golden snub-nosed monkey,takin,and red panda),2)conspecifics with atypical fur colora-tion(albino and brown),and 3)zookeepers/non-zookeepers wearing either work uniform or plain *** each session,we tracked the pan-da's pupil movements and measured pupil first fixation point(FFP),fixation latency,total fixation count(TFC),and duration(TFD)of attention to each ***,pandas exhibited similar attention(FFPs and TFCs)to images of predators and non-threatening sympatric *** of golden pheasant,snub-nosed monkey,and tiger received less attention(TFD)than images of conspecifics,whereas images of takin and red panda received more attention,suggesting a greater alertness to habitat or food competitors than to potential ***'TFCs were greater for images of black-white conspecifics than for albino or brown phenotypes,implying that familiar color elicited more *** reacted differently to images of men versus *** images of women only,pandas gave more attention(TFC)to familiar combinations(uniformed zookeepers and plain-clothed non-zookeepers),consistent with the familiarity *** pandas can use visual perception to discriminate intra-specifically and inter-specifically,including details of human appearance,has applications for panda conservation and captive husbandry.

Optimal Sensor Placement for Full-Set TDOA Localization Accounting for Sensor Location Errors

The positioning accuracy of a signal source is influenced by where the sensors are deployed. Studies in the literature for the optimal sensor placement (OSP) of localization often ignore the presence of sensor position errors. In practice, however, it is impossible to place the sensors precisely at the desired locations. This work designs OSP by accounting for the presence of Gaussian sensor position errors that are independent and identically distributed (IID), with the full set of Time Difference of Arrival measurements corrupted by Gaussian IID noise. The criterion is the A-optimality equal to the trace of the source position Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB). We show that the presence of sensor position errors introduces a multiplication factor to the same criterion for the case without sensor position errors. The latter factor is dependent on the ratio of the sensor position error power to the range difference noise power but independent of the sensor positions, implying that the A-optimality OSP in the presence of sensor position errors is the same as in the absence. To our knowledge, this is the first time such results have been derived. Simulation studies validate the derived OSP, show the minimal OSP performance gap with sensor positioning error and without, and illustrate the better source localization accuracy by OSP. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

Understanding the physical picture of Li ion transport in the current ionic conductors is quite essential to further develop lithium superionic conductors for solid-state *** traditional practice of directly extrapolating room temperature ion diffusion properties from the high-temperature(>600 K)ab initio molecular dynamics simulations(AIMD)simulations by the Arrhenius assumption unavoidably cause some ***,the ultralong-time molecular dynamics simulation based on the machine-learning interatomic potentials(MLMD)is a more suitable tool to probe into ion diffusion events at low temperatures and simultaneously keeps the accuracy at the density functional theory ***,by the low-temperature MLMD simulations,the non-linear Arrhenius behavior of Li ion was found for Li3ErCl6,which is the main reason for the traditional AIMD simulation overestimating its ionic *** 1μs MLMD simulations capture polyanion rotation events in Li_(7)P_(3)S_(11) at room temperature,in which four[PS_(4)]^(3−)tetrahedra belonging to a part of the longer-chain[P_(2)S_(7)]4−group are noticed with remarkable rotational motions,while the isolated group[PS_(4)]^(3−)does not ***,no polyanion rotation is observed in Li10GeP_(2)S12,β-Li3PS_(4),Li3ErCl6,and Li3YBr6 at 300 K during 1μs simulation ***,the ultralong-time MLMD simulations demonstrate that not only there is no paddle-wheel effect in the crystalline Li_(7)P_(3)S_(11) at room temperature,but also the rotational[PS_(4)]^(3−)polyanion groups have weakly negative impacts on the overall Li ion *** ultralong-time MLMD simulations deepen our understanding of the relationship between the polyanion rotation and cation diffusion in ionic conductors at room environments.

Generation-based linguistic steganography is a popular research area of information *** text generative steganographic method based on conditional probability coding is the direction that researchers have recently paid attention ***,in the course of our experiment,we found that the secret information hiding in the text tends to destroy the statistical distribution characteristics of the original text,which indicates that this method has the problem of the obvious reduction of text quality when the embedding rate increases,and that the topic of generated texts is uncontrollable,so there is still room for improvement in *** this paper,we propose a topic-controlled steganography method which is guided by graph-to-text *** proposed model can automatically generate steganographic texts carrying secret messages from knowledge graphs,and the topic of the generated texts is *** also provide a graph path coding method with corresponding detailed algorithms for graph-to-text *** from traditional linguistic steganography methods,we encode the secret information during graph path coding rather than using conditional *** test our method in different aspects and compare it with other text generative steganographic *** experimental results show that the model proposed in this paper can effectively improve the quality of the generated text and significantly improve the concealment of steganographic text.
