Ag-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) sensor:A promising candidate for lowconcentration H_(2)S gas sensing

Trace hydrogen sulphide(H_(2)S)could reflect the severity of insulation faults in gas-insulated switchgear(GIS),therefore,accurate and fast detection of low-concentration H_(2)S is important for on-line monitoring,fault diagnosis,and state evaluation in ***-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) chemiresistive-type sensors were fabricated via drop-coating with self-reduction synthesised Ag-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x).The as-prepared sensors exhibited an excel-lent sensitivity and selectivity to H_(2)S with an extremely low detection of limit of 18.57 parts per billion(ppb)at 25℃(room temperature).The response of Ag-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) sensor to 10 parts per million(ppm)H_(2)S was enhanced~12 times than that of the pristine Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) *** compositing of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) with Ag nanoparticles(NPs)enabled the fast response/recovery time for H_(2)S *** analysis found that the enhanced H_(2)S sensing performances could be attributed to chemical sensitisation,adsorbed oxygen species regulation and high Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET)surface *** study paves the way for Ag-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) as room-temperature sensing materials to detect low-concentration H_(2)S in GIS.

In order to overcome the shortcomings of traditional methods for corrosive sulfur detection in transformer oil,Raman spectroscopy based detection is proposed in this *** widely concerned corrosive sulfur,Dibenzyl Disulfide(DBDS),was chosen as the characteristic molecule to be detected.A series of oil samples with different DBDS concentrations was *** these samples were extracted by 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone for DBDS enrichment to improve the sensitivity of *** Raman spectra of samples were obtained,and a linear model was established by analysing the relationship between the characteristic peak and the DBDS *** limit of detection reached 7.98 mg/*** determining the DBDS concentrations causing sulfur corrosion,the sulfur weight content on the copper conductor surface was measured by Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectrometer after a corrosion *** results show that the corrosion limitation highly depends on the type of transformer oil,and the Raman spectroscopy detection can meet the limit of detection requirement in practical ***,an on-site oil sample and five Lab-made samples were detected via our new method and the current Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry based *** is found that there is no significant divergence between the measurement *** good applicability was also demonstrated in onsite sample test.

Triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has emerged as a promising energy harvester that converts random mechanical energy in the environment into electricity to enable self-powered system construction. However, the conventional TENG exhibits a large internal resistance resulting in a low output power across external loads for practical application. In this work, the travel mechanical switches were integrated into the TENG to boost output power, where the switches were turned on and off by the periodic motion between the triboelectric layers. Moreover, the triboelectric layers of TENG were developed as contact separation sandwich structures to work with mechanical switches, allowing the device to release the co-accumulated charges from the dual triboelectric layer to yield giant instantaneous discharge. Compared to a conventional TENG, the device offers ∼2.8 times more transfer charge in one cycle and ∼106 times more instantaneous power at an external load of 500 ω, which renders the internal impedance match almost negligible. As a result, the high-power source demonstrates the ability to illuminate the commercial lamps in parallel (total power: 50 W). Such a unique TENG with high output power for low resistance load could greatly enrich the practical application fields of self-powered systems. © 2023 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Rare-earth sulfide SmS is verified to be a potential high-temperature thermoelectric material. However, the relatively high thermal conductivity limits its performance. Although Se alloying can effectively reduce the thermal conductivity, the bandgap becomes wider at the same time and more carrier concentration is required to optimize the electrical performance. A series Sm1-xYxS0.77Se0.23 (x =0, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.1) was synthesized by ball-milling combined hot-pressing. X-ray powder results showed all Y-doped samples of Sm1-xYxS0.77Se0.23 contains tiny Sm3S4 phase. When x 0.97Y0.03S0.77Se0.23 reaches 1.42 mW/m K2 at 1023 K. To address the cost-effective voltage regulation in active distribution network (ADN), this paper proposes a multiagent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) based photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage (BS) aggregators coordinated operation framework. The proposed framework treats PV and BS under each bus as an aggregator and enables model-free separated operation between multiple PV-BS aggregators and ADN by training the control agent of each PV-BS aggregator using MADRL. The coordinated operation only requires incomplete information from the internal information of each PV-BS aggregator and overall ADN information, thereby reducing communication overhead. A test system evaluates the performance of three model-free MADRL algorithms on the proposed PV-BS aggregators coordinated operation in ADN. It also validates the effectiveness of the MADRL for cost-effective voltage regulation in ADN with multiple PV-BS aggregators. © 2023 IEEE.

Effect of the grain boundary character distribution on the sulfur corrosion behaviour and mechanisms of copper windings under different high temperatures

As a typical failure phenomenon in transformers,sulfur corrosion has garnered significant attention in the field of high-voltage *** boundary character distribution(GBCD)copper windings have been introduced to enhance sulfur corrosion resistance by slowing down intergranular *** this study,the sulfur corrosion behaviour and mechanisms of the GBCD copper windings under various temperatures were experi-mentally and theoretically *** show that GBCD can enhance the corrosion resistance of copper in liquid *** the increase in temperatures,the insulating properties of oil and papers in traditional copper windings experience notable degradation,while GBCD copper windings show more stable insulating *** addition,modelling of grain boundary energy indicates that the grain boundary structure of GBCD copper windings has a lower average interface energy of 0.170 eV/Å***-culations of reaction thermodynamics show that GBCD copper windings possess a higher failure temperature(135.2℃)and inhibition degree(activation energy)of the sulfur corrosion(32,557.62 J/mol),revealing the stability and enhanced sulfur corrosion resis-tance at elevated temperatures.

IGBT modules have been widely used in many fields such as renewable energy generation and rail transportation because of their excellent switching performance. However, the application reliability of IGBT modules is affected by many factors, among which humidity is one of the most serious factors threatening the health of IGBT modules. In high humidity applications, moisture tends to penetrate inside the module, which lead to corrosion and degradation of the module. In this paper, finite element simulation reveals that the bonding line and the solder layer are the weak points of the IGBT module packaging corrosion in high humidity application environment, which provide guidance for improving IGBT module packaging and designing reliability enhancement scheme. © 2023 IEEE.

In situ quantification of NO synthesis in a warm air glow discharge by WMS-based Mid-IR QCL absorption spectroscopy

Nitric oxide(NO)is one of the most crucial products in the plasma-based nitrogen fixation *** this work,in situ measurements were performed for quantifying the NO synthesis spatially in a warm air glow discharge,through the method of Mid-infrared quantum cascade laser absorption spectroscopy(QCL-AS).Two ro-vibrational transitions at 1900.076 cm^(-1) and 1900.517 cm^(-1) of the ground-state NO(X)were probed sensitively by the help of the wavelength modulation spectroscopy(WMS)approach to increase the signal/noise(S/N)*** results show a decline trend of NO synthesis rate along the discharge channel from the cathode to the ***,from the point of energy efficiency,the cathode region is of significantly low energy efficiency of NO *** disproportionality was found for the high energy consumption but low NO production in the region of cathode area,compared to that in the positive column *** analysis demonstrates the high energy cost of NO production in the cathode region,is ascribed to the extremely high reduced electric field E/N therein not selectively preferable for the processes of vibrational excitation or dissociation of N_(2) and O_(2) *** drags down the overall energy efficiency of NO synthesis by this typical warm air glow discharge,particularly for the ones with short electrode *** of further improving the energy cost of NO synthesis by variations of the discharge operation conditions,such as discharge current or airflow rate,imply other effective manners able to tune the energy delivery selectively to the NO formation process,are sorely needed.
