Sensor fusion is the combining of sensory data from disparate sources such that the resulting information is in some sense better than would be possible when these sources were used individually. The natural uncertainty exists in these data because sensors are not precise enough. Hence, the intuitive method to store this kind of data is using uncertain database. Finding the top-k entities according to one or more attributes is a powerful technique when the uncertain database contains large quantity of data. However, compared to top-k in traditional databases, queries over uncertain database are more complicated because of the existence of exponential possible worlds. We propose a method to process entity-based global top-k aggregate queries in uncertain database, which returns the top-k entities that have the highest aggregate value. Our method has two levels, entity state generation and G-topk-E query processing. In the former level, entity states, which satisfy the properties of x-tuple, are generated one after the other according to their aggregate values, while in the latter level, dynamic programming-based global top-k entity query processing is employed to return the answers. Comprehensive experiments on different data sets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solutions. © 2012 Springer-Verlag London Limited.

Greenhouse gases remote sensing monitoring system is implementation of greenhouse gases remote sensing applied technologies. This paper discusses the business application mode, operation scheme and application technology system of greenhouse gases remote sensing monitoring based on multi-source remote sensing data. The system analysis of greenhouse gases remote sensing monitoring is introduced in this paper, which include data flow analysis, transaction flow analysis, system structure analysis and core functions analysis. The prototype system is constructed using .NET, ArcEngine and IDL mixing programming language and its application example are presented. System application results show that this system meets the remote sensing monitoring requirements using greenhouse gases monitoring business applications model to improve the monitoring capability of environmental protection department. In recent years, large amounts of uncertain data are emerged with the widespread employment of the new technologies, such as wireless sensor networks, RFID and privacy protection. According to the features of the uncertain data streams such as incomplete, full of noisy, non-uniform and mutable, this paper presents a probability frequent pattern tree called PFP-tree and a method called PFP-growth, to mine probability frequent patterns based on probability damped windows. The main characteristics of the suggested method include: (1) adopting time-based probability damped window model to enhance the accuracy of mined frequent patterns;(2) setting an item index table and a transaction index table to speed up retrieval on the PFP-tree;and (3) pruning the tree to remove the items that cannot become frequent patterns;. The experimental results demonstrate that PFP-growth method has better performance than the main existing schemes in terms of accuracy, processing time and storage space. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

Traffic congestion is a very serious problem in large cities. With the number of vehicles increasing rapidly, especially in cities whose economy is booming, the situation is getting even worse. In this paper, by leveraging the techniques of Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) we present a dynamic navigation protocol called VAN for individual vehicles to find the shortest-time paths toward their given destinations. Specifically, a vehicle initiates a number of queries, which are routed by VANETs along different paths toward its destination. During query forwarding, the real-time road traffic information in each road segment is aggregated from multiple participating vehicles and returned to the source after the query reaches the destination. This information enables the source to calculate the shortest-time path. We also propose two forwarding optimization methods to reduce communication costs and an error handling mechanism to deal with abnormal circumstances. To evaluate its performance, we use the real traffic data of Beijing, including 2,308 road segments at two different times. Our simulation results demonstrate that our protocol, on average, could save around 30% driving time, compared to traveling along the shortest distance paths. ©2010 IEEE.

A Top-k aggregate query, which is a powerful technique when dealing with large quantity of data, ranks groups of tuples by their aggregate values and returns k groups with the highest aggregate values. However, compared to Top-k in traditional databases, queries over uncertain database are more complicated because of the existence of exponential possible worlds. As a powerful semantic of Top-k in uncertain database, Global Top-k return k highest-ranked tuples according to their probabilities of being in the Top-k answers in possible worlds. We propose a x-tuple based method to process Global Top-k aggregate queries in uncertain database. Our method has two levels, group state generation and G-x-Top-k query processing. Top-k query is a powerful technique in uncertain databases because of the existence of exponential possible worlds, and it is necessary to combine score and confidence of tuples to derive top k answers. Different semantics, the combination methods of score and confidence, lead to different results. U-kRanks and Global Top-k are two semantics of Topk queries in uncertain database, which consider every alternative in x-tuple as single one and return the tuple which has the highest probability appearing at top k or a given rank. However, no matter which alternative (tuple) of an x-tuple appears in a possible world, it undoubtedly believes that this xtuple appears in the same possible world accordingly. Thus, instead of ranking every individual tuple, we define two novel Top-k queries semantics in uncertain database, Uncertain xkRanks queries (U-x-kRanks) and Global x-Top-k queries (Gx- Top-k), which return k entities according to the score and the confidence of alternatives in x-tuple, respectively. In order to reduce the search space, we present an efficient algorithm to process U-x-kRanks queries and G-x-Top-k queries. Comprehensive experiments on different data sets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solutions. © 2010 IEEE.

Graph Pattern Matching (GPM) entails the identification of subgraphs within a larger graph structure that either precisely mirror or closely parallel a predefined pattern graph. Despite the fact that research on GPM in large-scale graph data has been largely centered on social network analysis or enhancing the precision and efficiency of matching algorithms for expeditious subgraph retrieval, there is a noticeable absence of studies committed to probing GPM in medical domains. To rectify this shortcoming and probe the potential of GPM in clinical contexts, particularly in aiding patients with the selection of optimal tumor treatment plans, this paper introduces the concept of probabilistic graph pattern matching specifically modified for the Tumor knowledge Graph (TKG). We propose a multi-constraint graph pattern matching algorithm, hereinafter designated as TKG-McGPM, customized for the Tumor knowledge Graph. Through experimental verification, we establish that TKG-McGPM can facilitate more efficient and informed decision-making in tumor treatment planning.
