The micro gas turbine system acts as a key role in distributed renewable generation systems due to its flexibility, versatility, and low emissions. This paper focuses on the micro gas turbine speed control problem, which primarily determines the fuel flow for the turbine under variable load conditions. Due to nonlinear factors in MGTS, such as the coupling between systems parameters, and external disturbances such as electric load variation, it is a challenge to realize accurate speed control. In this paper, a continuous terminal sliding-mode control law based on a finite-time disturbance observer is designed for micro gas turbine control system. In this method, the integral of high-frequency switching function is introduced to control law. It guarantees the continuity of control signal and alleviates the chattering problem. Besides, the linear sliding mode surface is replaced by a full-order terminal sliding mode surface, and it obtains finite-time convergence and smaller speed tracking error. Furthermore, disturbance estimates are used in control law to eliminate the adverse effect of disturbances on control performance, which improves disturbance rejection ability. Finally, simulation comparison with conventional sliding-mode control validates the advantages of the composite controller.

In the spectral analysis of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy,abundant characteristic spectral lines and severe interference information exist simultaneously in the original spectral ***,a feature selection method called recursive feature elimination based on ridge regression(Ridge-RFE)for the original spectral data is recommended to make full use of the valid information of *** the Ridge-RFE method,the absolute value of the ridge regression coefficient was used as a criterion to screen spectral characteristic,the feature with the absolute value of minimum weight in the input subset features was removed by recursive feature elimination(RFE),and the selected features were used as inputs of the partial least squares regression(PLS)*** Ridge-RFE method based PLS model was used to measure the Fe,Si,Mg,Cu,Zn and Mn for 51 aluminum alloy samples,and the results showed that the root mean square error of prediction decreased greatly compared to the PLS model with full spectrum as *** overall results demonstrate that the Ridge-RFE method is more efficient to extract the redundant features,make PLS model for better quantitative analysis results and improve model generalization ability.

Deep Behavioral Cloning for Traffic control with Virtual Expert Demonstration Under a Parallel Learning Framework ⁎

Intelligent traffic signal control is necessary for improving traffic efficiency. These fast changing and challenging traffic scenarios and demands are generally handled by professional traffic engineers. However, it may take years of time and thousands of practices to train such an engineer. This paper proposes a deep behavioral cloning method to learn how to control the traffic signal effectively and efficiently from virtual expert demonstration. The method imitates promising working behavior of optimized offline solutions, and applies it to solve online traffic signal control problems of the similar scenario. Different traffic demand patterns are generated through a combination of different kinds of components. Then the virtual demonstration is constructed by getting an exclusive and optimized solution for each generated virtual traffic demand pattern through a heuristic random search method. After that, a deep neural network-based behavioral cloning method is employed to learn from the virtual demonstration and finish on-line traffic signal control task. The experimental results show that compared with other methods, the proposed method significantly reduces the waiting time and time loss in different situations. And the average traffic speed of the road network at different saturation levels can be improved by 1.58% to 11.54%.

The local map can update the local environment information in real time, which provides the environment information for the local dynamic planning of the robot. In this paper, a local cost map construction method based on 3D-LIDAR and camera is proposed. We use camera to detect lane lines in structured road and 3D-LIDAR to detect road boundaries in unstructured environment, and then use DS evidence reasoning to determine the current local road information. Dynamic obstacle information in the environment is obtained through 3D point cloud data segmentation, which is fused with the road information to get 3D point cloud information in the local range and generate local cost map according to it. Experiments show that the method in this paper can accurately extract the current road information whether in structured roads or unstructured roads. The fused local cost map can enable the robot to perform reasonable local planning and complete navigation on the current road.

2D/3D medical image registration of pre-operative volumes and intra-operative images plays an important role in neurological interventions. However, vast space of transformation parameters makes this task incredibly challenging. In this paper, a novel two-stage framework for 2D/3D registration is proposed. It consists of two basic modules: CNN regression for preliminarily estimating transformation parameters, and centroid alignment for further reducing estimation errors to get refined images. Experimental results on two patients show the proposed framework can achieve superior performances to baseline methods with an inference rate of 22 FPS, satisfying real-time requirements (6~12 FPS) in clinical practice. Extensive ablation studies prove the effectiveness of centroid alignment in significantly improving registration accuracies. These promising results indicate the framework has the potential to be integrated into navigation frameworks for neurological interventions, facilitating treatments of physicians.

Inter-hour direct normal irradiance forecast with multiple data types and time-series

Boosted by a strong solar power market,the electricity grid is exposed to risk under an increasing share of fluctuant solar *** increase the stability of the electricity grid,an accurate solar power forecast is needed to evaluate such *** terms of forecast,solar irradiance is the key factor of solar power generation,which is affected by atmospheric conditions,including surface meteorological variables and column integrated *** variables involve multiple numerical timeseries and ***,few studies have focused on the processing method of multiple data types in an interhour direct normal irradiance(DNI)*** this study,a framework for predicting the DNI for a 10-min time horizon was developed,which included the nondimensionalization of multiple data types and time-series,development of a forecast model,and transformation of the *** atmospheric variables were considered in the forecast framework,including the historical DNI,wind speed and direction,relative humidity time-series,and ground-based cloud *** were conducted to evaluate the performance of the forecast *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method performs well with a normalized mean bias error of 0.41%and a normalized root mean square error(n RMSE)of20.53%,and outperforms the persistent model with an improvement of 34%in the nRMSE.

Carbon and nitrogen are central elements in global biogeochemical cycles. To effectively manage carbon and nitrogen in China, we developed a comprehensive model for quantifying their fluxes, investigating their interplay across 16 human and natural subsystems. Between 1980 and 2020, nitrogen losses in China increased 2.3-fold and carbon emissions surged 6.5-fold. Integrated carbon and nitrogen management holds the potential for a 74% reduction in nitrogen losses to air and water and a 91% decrease in carbon emissions to the atmosphere by 2060. Compared with separate control of carbon or nitrogen, integrated management delivers an additional reduction of 1.8 million tons of nitrogen and 26.5 million tons of carbon by 2060, bringing out a 37% decrease in unit abatement cost and a net societal benefit of 1384 billion USD.

A Bioinspired retinal neural network for accurately extracting small-target motion information in cluttered backgrounds

—Robust and accurate detection of small moving targets in cluttered moving backgrounds is a significant and challenging problem for robotic visual systems to perform search and tracking tasks. Inspired by the neural circuitry of elementary motion vision in the mammalian retina, this paper proposes a bioinspired retinal neural network based on a new neurodynamics-based temporal filtering and multiform 2-D spatial Gabor filtering. This model can estimate motion direction accurately via only two perpendicular spatiotemporal filtering signals, and respond to small targets of different sizes and velocities through adjusting the dendrite field size of spatial filter. Meanwhile, an algorithm of directionally selective inhibition is proposed to suppress the target-like features in the moving background, which can reduce the influence of background motion effectively. Extensive synthetic and real-data experiments show that the proposed model works stably for small targets of a wider size and velocity range, and has better detection performance than other bioinspired models. Additionally, it can also extract the information of motion direction and motion energy accurately and rapidly. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, a new paradigm named parallel distance is presented to measure the data information in parallel driving system. As an example, the core variables in the parallel driving system are measured and evaluated in the parallel distance framework. First, the parallel driving 3.0 system included control and management platform, intelligent vehicle platform and remote-control platform is introduced. Then,Markov chain(MC) is utilized to model the transition probability matrix of control commands in these systems. Furthermore, to distinguish the control variables in artificial and physical driving conditions, different distance calculation methods are enumerated to specify the differences between the virtual and real signals. By doing this, the real system can be guided and the virtual system can be im-proved. Finally, simulation results exhibit the merits and multiple applications of the proposed parallel distance framework.
