The global spread of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2.(SARS-CoV-2)and its variant strains,including Alpha,Beta,Gamma,Delta,and now Omicron,pose a significant *** the constant evolution of the virus,Omicron and its subtypes BA.1,BA.2,BA.3,BA.4,and BA.5 have developed the capacity to evade neutralization induced by previous vaccination or *** evasion highlights the urgency in discovering new monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)with neutralizing activity,especially broadly neutralizing antibodies(bnAbs),to combat the *** the current study,we introduced a fully human neutralizing mAb,CR9,that targets Omicron *** demonstrated the mAb’s effectiveness in inhibiting Omicron replication both in vitro and in *** analysis using cryo-electron microscopy(cryo-EM)revealed that CR9 binds to an epitope formed by RBD residues,providing a molecular understanding of its neutralization *** its potency and specificity,CR9 holds promise as a potential adjunct therapy for treating Omicron *** findings highlight the importance of continuous mAb discovery and characterization in addressing the evolving threat of COVID-19.

In this article, we present a multi-robot continuous ice thickness measurement system that can operate in plateau glacial environments with natural slopes up to 30°, large crevasses of glacier, slippery snow/ice ground surface, and inevitable terrain undulations. The ground station operator can operate the unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) with improved safety driving ability by following the optimal driving advice provided by the driving skill learning model. The air-ground robot collaboration algorithm coordinated the operation of the UGV with the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to improve the mobility of the UGV in complex glacier environments. We obtain multi-scale and multi-aspect environmental information through air-ground collaboration and use a lightweight environmental modeling method to obtain a three-dimensional model of the glacier surface and subglacial terrain. The system was applied in the Korchung Gangri Glacier in the Tibet Plateau in June 2022. The experimental results show that the system can operate in the extreme environment of plateau glaciers and collect high-precision continuous ice thickness distribution data. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The insulator is a vital component of power equipment that aids in power transmission. Aiming at transmission line faults caused by missing insulator pieces, this paper proposed to divide insulator detection and defect location into two steps. Additionally, we add Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) module into the Faster R-CNN model at the insulator detection stage, which could enhance insulator detection accuracy under similar model complexity and also improve the detection efficiency of the YOLOv3 model on insulator defect location. © 2023 SPIE.

The increasing structure of neural networks makes it difficult to deploy on edge devices with limited computing resources. Network pruning has become one of the most successful model compression methods in recent years. Existing works usually compress models by removing unimportant filters based on the importance. However, the importance-based algorithms tend to ignore the parameters that extract edge features with small criterion values. And recent studies have shown that the existing criteria rely on norm and lead to similar model compression structures. Aiming at the problems of ignoring edge features and manually specifying the pruning rate in current importance-based model pruning algorithms, this paper proposes an automatic recognition framework for neural network structure redundancy based on reinforcement learning. First, we perform cluster analysis on the filters of each layer, and map the filters into a multidimensional space to generate similar sets with different functions. We then propose a criterion for identifying redundant filters within similar sets. Finally, we use reinforcement learning to automatically optimize the cluster dimension, and then determine the optimal pruning rate for each layer to reduce the performance loss caused by pruning. Extensive experiments on various benchmark network architectures and datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed framework. © 2023 SPIE.

In this paper, we consider a novel and efficient method to price equity-linked guaranteed minimumdeath benefits (GMDB) with European-style geometric Asian and arithmetic Asian payoffs. In thesituation of continuous transition of market economy, we assume that the underlying asset price processfollows regime-switching Ĺevy model and use complex Fourier series (CFS) expansion method to derivethe approximate value of GMDB products. The error analysis shows an exponential convergence rateunder geometric Asian and arithmetic Asian payoffs. Furthermore, the CFS approach is comparedwith other Fourier transform methods and Monte Carlo simulation, the numerical experiment resultsillustrate our method has a distinct advantage over other methods in both efficiency and accuracy. © 2022, The Authors. Realizing high performance of ordinary robots is one of the core problems in robotic research. Improving the performance of ordinary robots usually relies on the collaborative development of multiple research fields, resulting in high costs and difficulty to complete some high-precision tasks. As a comparison,humans can realize extraordinary overall performance under the condition of limited computational-energy consumption and low absolute precision in sensing and controlling each body unit. Therefore, developing human-inspired robotic systems and algorithms is a promising avenue to improve the performance of robotic systems. In this review, the cutting-edge research work on human-inspired intelligent robots in decisionmaking, cognition, motion control, and system design is summarized from behavior-and neural-inspired aspects. This review aims to provide a significant insight into human-inspired intelligent robots, which may be beneficial for promoting the integration of neuroscience, machinery, and control, so as to develop a new generation of robotic systems.

Semantic attack, as a covert and highly destructive network attack, seriously threatens the security of automatic guided vehicle (AGV) system. To make it worse, the dynamic change of wireless channel makes semantic attack detection more non-intractable. In order to solve the issues on the current semantic attack detection in wireless network environment, this paper proposes an extended stochastic Petri net (ESPN)-based detection method. It builds a stochastic Petri net (SPN) model for the normal operation process of AGV system, and detects the semantic attack by comparing the characteristics of relevance matrix, average dwell time and token density. Additionally, we innovatively add the wireless channel evaluation parameter in the SPN model, to estimate the current wireless channel state and eliminate the impact of wireless interference on attack detection. Eventually, an AGV attack detection system experimental platform has been developed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively eliminate the impact of wireless channel interference on semantic attack detection, and has impressive detection performance. The power grid is a kind of national critical infrastructure directly affiliated to human daily life. Because of the vital functions and potentially significant losses, the power grid becomes an excellent target for many malicious attacks. Due to the special nonlinear measurements, many detection methods do not match the grid very well. The extended Kalman filter based detection is one of the few methods suitable for nonlinear system detection, and therefore can be used in power system to spot malicious attacks. However, the reliability and effectiveness of the extended Kalman filter based detection have not been fully studied and adequately guaranteed. By proposing a two-step false data injection attack strategy, this paper gives a stealthy way to inject false data of increasing magnitude into the power grid, which can eventually cause a certain degree of deviation of the grid state without being detected. In the simulation, the method proposed in this paper caused a voltage deviation of more than 25% before being discovered in the power system. © 2021 IEEE.

Automatically recognizing surgical gestures plays a key role in computer-assisted surgery and automatic skill assessment. Solutions to this task that only rely on video without additional sensor hardware have attracted great attention since they are economical and feasible. However, it is still a challenging problem due to the variable gesture durations and the oversegmentation problem that occurred in a long gesture duration. To address the above problems, we propose a cascade network with boundary-adaptive filter to dynamically capture the long-range temporal dependencies and reduce the over-segmentation errors obviously. A cascade module is designed to enhance the temporal modeling abilities in different timescales, in which multiple similar temporal convolution networks are divided into cascade stages and a fusion stage. Every cascade stage with different temporal receptive fields has a frame-specific weight to adjust the distribution of each stage and they will be aggregated into the fusion stage to refine the predictions. The frame-specific model architecture may incur a more serious over-segmentation problem. A boundary-adaptive filter is designed to leverage gesture boundary information to smooth the prediction results adaptively, which maintains consistency within a gesture duration while keeping the gesture-crossing discrepancy. We evaluate our model on the JHU-ISI Gesture and Skill Assessment Working Set (JIGSAWS). The proposed method reaches the state-of-the-art frame-wise accuracy (83.79%) and comparable segment-level performance (83.35% F1@50). © 2021 IEEE.
