In deep geological drilling, encountering various formations is inevitable. Formation changes can lead to fluc-tuations in the weight on bit due to the bit-rock interaction. This paper proposes a disturbance observer-based weight on bit control system to mitigate the adverse effects of formation changes on system performance. First, an axis-torsion coupled dynamic model is established, and the relationship between the two dimensions is analyzed. The validity of the model is confirmed through comparison with field data collected from a geothermal well drilling operation. Then, a disturbance observer is designed to estimate and compensate for the disturbance at the control input, thereby reducing weight on bit fluctuations caused by formation variations. Simulation results considering formation variation during drilling verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The hydraulic system of the controllable pitch propeller (CPP) serves as the power source for adjusting the blade pitch. Due to its structural complexity and harsh operating conditions, any malfunction of this system could significantly impair the vessel's navigation. Apart from the pitch command and the pitch feedback of CPP itself, the number and types of sensors added for fault diagnosis are not fixed. Therefore, this study establishes a multimodal fault diagnosis model based on Gramian angular field(GAF). By considering the deviation values of pitch feedback and pitch command as key variables, this model transforms them into a two-dimensional image using GAF, thereby obtaining more effective feature information. Image features are extracted using ResNet, while the temporal features of additional sensors are extracted using GRU. Finally, a multi-head attention mechanism is employed for feature fusion. This method achieves a classification accuracy of 100% in the classification of four types of hydraulic system faults simulated on the experimental platform.

In response to the problem of poor detection performance of the traditional Sobel operator in edge detection, a high-precision edge detection algorithm based on Sobel operator-assisted Holistically-nested Edge Detection (HED) network was proposed, which is named ISAHED here. The algorithm is designed as follows. Firstly, an improved Sobel operator based on the traditional Sobel operator was proposed through adding gradient direction. Then, the image output by the improved Sobel operator is taken as the ground-truth image and as the end-to-end comparison object in a HED-like network. Finally, the ISAHED algorithm outputs edge images with better quality through iterative learning of the HED-like neural network. The experimental results prove that the proposed ISAHED algorithm has better edge detection performance by visually observing the final edge images and further evaluating the values of FOM. This work provides an important reference for the further development of the edge detection technology.

The micro gas turbine system acts as a key role in distributed renewable generation systems due to its flexibility, versatility, and low emissions. This paper focuses on the micro gas turbine speed control problem, which primarily determines the fuel flow for the turbine under variable load conditions. Due to nonlinear factors in MGTS, such as the coupling between systems parameters, and external disturbances such as electric load variation, it is a challenge to realize accurate speed control. In this paper, a continuous terminal sliding-mode control law based on a finite-time disturbance observer is designed for micro gas turbine control system. In this method, the integral of high-frequency switching function is introduced to control law. It guarantees the continuity of control signal and alleviates the chattering problem. Besides, the linear sliding mode surface is replaced by a full-order terminal sliding mode surface, and it obtains finite-time convergence and smaller speed tracking error. Furthermore, disturbance estimates are used in control law to eliminate the adverse effect of disturbances on control performance, which improves disturbance rejection ability. Finally, simulation comparison with conventional sliding-mode control validates the advantages of the composite controller. © 2021 IEEE

This article deals with model- and data-based consensus control of heterogenous leader-following multi-agent systems (MASs) under an event-triggering transmission scheme. A dynamic periodic transmission protocol is developed to significantly alleviate the transmission frequency and computational burden, where the followers can interact locally with each other approaching the dynamics of the leader. Capitalizing on a discrete-time looped-functional, a model-based consensus condition for the closed-loop MASs is derived in form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), as well as a design method for obtaining the distributed controllers and event-triggering parameters. Upon collecting noise-corrupted state-input measurements during open-loop operation, a data-driven leader-following MAS representation is presented, and employed to solve the data-driven consensus control problem without requiring any knowledge of the agents' models. This result is then extended to the case of guaranteeing an H∞ performance. A simulation example is finally given to corroborate the efficacy of the proposed distributed event-triggering scheme in cutting off data transmissions and the data-driven design method. Great endeavors have been made to study AI's ability in abstract reasoning, along with which different versions of RAVEN's progressive matrices (RPM) are proposed as benchmarks. Previous works give inkling that without sophisticated design or extra meta-data containing semantic information, neural networks may still be indecisive in making decisions regarding the RPM problems, after relentless training. Evidenced by thorough experiments, we show that, neural networks embodied with felicitous inductive bias, intentionally design or serendipitously match, can solve the RPM problems efficiently, without the augment of any extra meta-data. Our work also reveals that multiviewpoint with multi-evaluation is a key learning strategy for successful reasoning. Nevertheless, we also point out the unique role of meta-data by showing that a pre-training model supervised by the meta-data leads to a RPM solver with better performance. It has long posed a challenging task to optimally deploy multi-agent systems (MASs) to cooperatively coverage poriferous environments in real cooperative detection applications. In response to this challenge, this paper proposes a hierarchical coverage control (HCC) protocol for MASs to perform sector-based coverage operations. First, a distributed Voronoi partition-based sweep-and-assign protocol, combined with a sectorial partition method, is developed, enabling the segmentation of a whole poriferous region into multiple sectorial sub-subregions. Following this procedure, an extreme search scheme is developed to determine the optimal amount of agents for each subregion. After this allocation, a distributed controller is proposed to deploy the agents, considering non-holonomic constraints, into designated niche positions. Additionally, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the asymptotical stability of the present HCC. The analytical challenge of the present study stems from the non-convex characteristics inherent in the loss function induced by porous environments. This non-convexity renders the task of globally optimizing the assignment of MASs intractable. Finally, numerical simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the present coverage control approach. © 2014 IEEE.

In wireless networked systems, jamming attacks are destructive and easy to be launched. To mitigate the jamming attack impact, frequency hopping is an effective way, in which a defender side can switch channels to avoid using the ones under jamming attack. However, the resilient ability of anti-jamming of traditional frequency hopping algorithm can't meet the requirement of communication without channel strategy and jamming detection under the circumstance of various forms of jamming attacks. In this paper, an improved frequency hopping algorithm with higher transmit success rate (TSR) has been proposed based on channel selection and adjustment of transmission time to defend different kinds of attacks such as reactive jamming, static jamming and scanning jamming. Our algorithm judges whether to adjust data transmission time according to the result of transmit success rate and use channel selection strategy to avoid most of interfered channels. Finally, our proposed algorithm is evaluated as a resilient scheme under different forms of jamming attacks through simulations. © 2021 IEEE.
