This paper develops a distributed primal-dual algorithm via event-triggered mechanism to solve a class of convex optimization problems subject to local set constraints, coupled equality and inequality constraints. Different from some existing distributed algorithms with the diminishing step-sizes, our algorithm uses the constant step-sizes, and is shown to achieve an exact convergence to an optimal solution with an O(1/k) convergence rate for general convex objective functions, where k > 0 is the iteration number. Moreover, by applying event-triggered communication mechanism, the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce the communication cost without sacrificing the convergence rate. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) has been widely used in the warehouse for transporting the bulky and heavy cargos. However, the AGV may deviate the regular trajectories in presence of incorrect or untimely commands sent form the server due to, e.g., cyber attacks, unexpected blocks of the wireless signals. In order to ensure AGV running safely, this paper presents a visual surveillance system by making full use of the measurements from the forward and downward cameras. Specifically, the forward camera estimates the AGV positions and attitudes by tracking the surrounding landmarks detected from the forward image sequences. Besides, the downward camera is used to detect the QR codes fixed on the floor and estimate the AGV poses in the absolute reference frame. Apart from that, the AGV poses from the downward camera could correct scale and poses estimated the forward view. The proposed method has been extensively performed on the developed platform. The results proves the effectiveness in using the complementary forward-downward visual measurements for AGV security surveillance.

This paper studies the problem of trajectory tracking control for directional drilling in underground coal mine by devising a robust model predictive control method. First, a directional drilling trajectory extension model is obtained by the linearization of a drilling tool kinematic model through the Taylor series expansion in the borehole depth domain. Then, in view of the influence of the uncertainty of the drilling tool slope and external interference, a robust model predictive control method is introduced in the form of an optimal control problem. A sufficient condition is obtained to calculate the corresponding controller gain matrix on the premise of satisfying the stability of the closedloop control system and the $H_{\infty}$ performance index. At last, the effectiveness of our method is illustrated through simulation analysis. Compared with model predictive control, robust model predictive control directly incorporates the uncertainty of the drilling tool slope and external interference into the control design, enabling it to better adapt to the complex and variable underground coal mine environment.

Online progressive instance-balanced sampling for weakly supervised object detection

Based on multiple instance detection networks (MIDN), plenty of works have contributed tremendous efforts to weakly supervised object detection (WSOD). However, most methods neglect the fact that the overwhelming negative instances exist in each image during the training phase, which would mislead the training and make the network fall into local minima. To tackle this problem, an online progressive instance-balanced sampling (OPIS) algorithm based on hard sampling and soft sampling is proposed in this paper. The algorithm includes two modules: a progressive instance balance (PIB) module and a progressive instance reweighting (PIR) module. The PIB module combining random sampling and IoU-balanced sampling progressively mines hard negative instances while balancing positive instances and negative instances. The PIR module further utilizes classifier scores and IoUs of adjacent refinements to reweight the weights of positive instances for making the network focus on positive instances. Extensive experimental results on the PASCAL VOC 2007 and 2012 datasets demonstrate the proposed method can significantly improve the baseline, which is also comparable to many existing state-of-the-art results. In addition, compared to the baseline, the proposed method requires no extra network parameters and the supplementary training overheads are small, which could be easily integrated into other methods based on the instance classifier refinement paradigm. TrajGen: Generating Realistic and Diverse Trajectories with Reactive and Feasible Agent Behaviors for Autonomous Driving

Realistic and diverse simulation scenarios with reactive and feasible agent behaviors can be used for validation and verification of self-driving system performance without relying on expensive and time-consuming real-world testing. Existing simulators rely on heuristic-based behavior models for background vehicles, which cannot capture the complex interactive behaviors in real-world scenarios. To bridge the gap between simulation and the real world, we propose TrajGen, a two-stage trajectory generation framework, which can capture more realistic behaviors directly from human demonstration. In particular, TrajGen consists of the multi-modal trajectory prediction stage and the reinforcement learning based trajectory modification stage. In the first stage, we propose a novel auxiliary RouteLoss for the trajectory prediction model to generate multi-modal diverse trajectories in the drivable area. In the second stage, reinforcement learning is used to track the predicted trajectories while avoiding collisions, which can improve the feasibility of generated trajectories. In addition, we develop a data-driven simulator I-Sim that can be used to train reinforcement learning models in parallel based on naturalistic driving data. The vehicle model in I-Sim can guarantee that the generated trajectories by TrajGen satisfy vehicle kinematic constraints. Finally, we give comprehensive metrics to evaluate generated trajectories for simulation scenarios, which shows that TrajGen outperforms either trajectory prediction or inverse reinforcement learning in terms of fidelity, reactivity, feasibility, and diversity. Based on the background of photovoltaic development in the whole county and the demand for energy storage on the user-side, this paper establishes an economic evaluation model of user-side photovoltaic energy storage system considering shared energy storage. Firstly, three schemes of no energy storage, independent energy storage and shared energy storage are proposed, and the influence of photovoltaic energy storage system loss on annual power generation is considered. Secondly, based on the whole life cycle theory, the cost and benefit model of the user-side photovoltaic energy storage system is established, and the unit electricity cost of the user is used as the evaluation index. Finally, the relevant data of user in Hubei area are analyzed as an example to verify the effectiveness of the model and provide reference for the investment of related projects.

Coke pushing current is an indicator to evaluate the difficulty of coke pushing operation. The higher coke pushing current is, the greater coke pushing resistance is, and the more difficult coke is to push out. Accurate prediction of current peak during future coke pushing operation can provide more time for production personnel to adjust production status and avoid difficult coke pushing in carbonization chamber. In this paper, a combination prediction model based on VMD (Variational Mode Decomposition) and improved ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) models is proposed. Firstly, VMD algorithm is used to decompose time series of coke pushing current peak, de-noising data, and extracting main information of time series. Then, ARIMA model is used to predict mean change of linear elasticity and GARCH (Generalized Autore-gressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity) model is introduced to predict ARIMA model residual and improve heteroscedasticity of nonlinear part of time series, and then ARIMA-GARCH model is established. Finally, predicted value is obtained by the sum of each component prediction. The experimental results show that the proposed prediction model has a high prediction accuracy in the short-term prediction of coke pushing current peak. The scheme is applied to actual coking production to guide production of coke.

The four-step transportation model plays an important role in urban planning. The quality of the first phase, i.e. trip generation, determines the performance of the global course. The majority of trip generation forecasting models highly rely on mathematical derivation and have many predictor variables during the prediction, which leads to low accuracy of results and requires laboriously hand-crafted design of input vectors. This paper is the first to introduce the gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) algorithm for trip generation prediction, and harmonizes such a powerful machine learning method with traditional urban planning requirements to achieve better prediction performance. Unlike the commonly used linear regression method, GBDT can automatically perform feature selection and model the non-linear relationships between input and output variables. Experimental results on real-world residential travel census in Beijing prove that the GBDT model significantly outperforms the baseline and can forecast the trip generation more accurately. © 2021 IEEE.

control parameters play an important role on the locomotion performance of quadruped robot system. In this paper, a learning-based control method is proposed, where the parameters of controller are learned by deep reinforcement learning (DRL). The proposed control system consists of a hierarchical controller and an agent, in which the agent learns the parameters in the upper layer of the controller. In the learning process, the guided-DRL and the hierarchical-DRL were used to solve the exploration problem and reward sparse problem, respectively. The former learns good expert trajectories with controller, which can realize the transition from supervised learning to self-learning, whereas the latter divides the task into a series of sub-goals to ensure that the difficulty of each subtask matches the decision-making ability of the agent in the learning stage. Finally, the controller with the trained policy is deployed to a real robot without manual tuning, and experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.
