Manifestations of 9754 gout patients in a Chinese clinical center: A 10-year observational study

Objectif: La prévalence de la goutte augmente, mais les études analysant ses caractéristiques cliniques dans de grands échantillons sont insuffisantes. Cette étude s'attache à clarifier les changements dans les manifestations cliniques de la goutte en Chine au cours des dix dernières années et à analyser les caractéristiques cliniques et les facteurs de risque de la goutte précoce. Méthodes: Les manifestations cliniques de la goutte ont été comparées chez 9754 patients reçus pour la première fois dans notre établissement entre 2008 et 2012 (premier groupe) ou entre 2013 et 2018 (dernier groupe). La goutte apparue ≤ 30 ans a été définie comme goutte précoce et > 30 ans, comme goutte tardive. Les caractéristiques cliniques et les facteurs de risque ont été comparés entre les groupes. Résultats: La goutte est apparue 4,14 ans plus tôt dans le dernier groupe (2013-2018, 5979 patients) et le pourcentage de goutte précoce (3827 patients) y était plus élevé. La durée de la maladie était significativement plus courte (5,72 ± 0,09 contre 6,01 ± 0,11, p < 0,05) et la proportion de patients présentant des tophi était plus faible dans le dernier groupe (20,0% contre 22,0%, p<0,05). Le dernier groupe comptait davantage de patients obèses (37,7% contre 32,6%, p < 0,001) et l'uricémie y était significativement plus élevée (485,5 ± 1,5 Μmol/l contre 465,0 ± 1,9 Μmol/l). Comme la goutte survenait à un âge plus jeune, nous avons appliqué une régression logistique multivariée et déterminé que des antécédents familiaux positifs, le sexe masculin, l'obésité, une uricémie élevée et la consommation de sodas sucrés étaient des facteurs prédictifs indépendants de goutte précoce. Conclusion: Les manifestations de la goutte en Chine ont évolué au cours des dix dernières années, avec notamment une tendance à une apparition plus précoce. © 2021

In the area of urban transportation networks, a growing number of day-to-day (DTD) traffic dynamic theories have been proposed to describe the network flow evolution, and an increasing amount of laboratory experiments have been conducted to observe travelers’ behavior regularities. However, the "communication" between theorists and experimentalists has not been made well. This paper devotes to 1) detecting unanticipated behavior regularities by conducting a series of laboratory experiments, and 2) improving existing DTD dynamics theories by embedding the observed behavior regularities into a route choice model. First, 312 subjects participated in one of the eight decision-making scenarios and make route choices repeatedly in congestible parallel-route networks. Second, three route-switching behavior patterns that cannot be fully explained by the classic route-choice models are observed. Third, to enrich the explanation power of a discrete route-choice model, behavioral assumptions of route-dependent attractions, i.e., route-dependent inertia and preference, are introduced. An analytical DTD dynamic model is accordingly proposed and proven to steadily converge to a unique equilibrium state. Finally, the proposed DTD model could satisfactorily reproduce the observations in various datasets. The research results can help transportation science theorists to make the best use of laboratory experimentation and to build network equilibrium or DTD dynamic models with both real behavioral basis and neat mathematical properties. © 2023, CC BY.

Investigating and modeling day-to-day route choices based on laboratory experiments. Part II: A route-dependent attraction-based stochastic process model

To explain day-to-day (DTD) route-choice behaviors and traffic dynamics observed in a series of lab experiments, Part I of this research proposed a discrete choice-based analytical dynamic model (Qi et al., 2023). Although the deterministic model could well reproduce the experimental observations, it converges to a stable equilibrium of route flow while the observed DTD evolution is apparently with random oscillations. To overcome the limitation, the paper proposes a route-dependent attraction-based stochastic process (RDAB-SP) model based on the same behavioral assumptions in Part I of this research. Through careful comparison between the model-based estimation and experimental observations, it is demonstrated that the proposed RDAB-SP model can accurately reproduce the random oscillations both in terms of flow switching and route flow evolution. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to explain and model experimental observations by using stochastic process DTD models, and it is interesting to find that the seemingly unanticipated phenomena (i.e., random route switching behavior) is actually dominated by simple rules, i.e., independent and probability-based route-choice behavior. Finally, an approximated model is developed to help simulate the stochastic process and evaluate the equilibrium distribution in a simple and efficient manner, making the proposed model a useful and practical tool in transportation policy design. © 2023, CC BY.

Social engineering (SE) attacks remain a significant threat to both individuals and organizations. The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including diffusion models and large language models (LLMs), has potentially intensified these threats by enabling more personalized and convincing attacks. This survey paper categorizes SE attack mechanisms, analyzes their evolution, and explores methods for measuring these threats. It highlights the challenges in raising awareness about the risks of AI-enhanced SE attacks and offers insights into developing proactive and adaptable defense strategies. Additionally, we introduce a categorization of the evolving nature of AI-powered social engineering attacks into"3E phases": Enlarging, wherein the magnitude of attacks expands through the leverage of digital media;Enriching, introducing novel attack vectors and techniques;and Emerging, signifying the advent of novel threats and methods. Moreover, we emphasize the necessity for a robust framework to assess the risk of AI-powered SE attacks. By identifying and addressing gaps in existing research, we aim to guide future studies and encourage the development of more effective defenses against the growing threat of AI-powered social engineering. In the case of scarce communication resources, the importance of different vehicle communication levels is self-evident. They not only affect the efficiency of information exchange between vehicles and driving safety, but also directly affect the rational allocation and utilization of communication resources. Therefore, this paper proposes a signal detection method based on vehicle social relationship strength (SRS) in vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) scenario, and integrates the SRS information into the data to be transmitted. In this method, minimum mean square error (MMSE) signal detection algorithm is selected for simulation, and Rayleigh channel and Rician channel are selected for simulation scenarios. This method makes full use of the intensity of social relationship between vehicles, and realizes the efficient transmission of data and the accurate transmission of communication level. Experimental verification shows that the method performs well in the VANETs scenario, and provides a new communication method for intelligent transportation, social network and other applications, which is expected to promote the technical progress and application development in related fields.

In this paper, a new constrained cost value iteration (CCVI) adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) algorithm is developed to solve optimal control problems with constrained cost function. The CCVI algorithm is initialized by a feasible control law, and the cost function of this initial feasible control constitutes the constraint condition in the policy update step. The convergence and optimality of the CCVI are analyzed. Furthermore, the feasibility of any iterative control law and the on-line evolving control law are proven. It is emphasized that the feasibility of any iterative control law and the on-line evolving control law guarantee that the CCVI algorithm can be used in situations where the cost function constraint is extremely important. Finally, a simulation example is given to verify the effect of the developed algorithm. © 2021 IEEE

Accurate localization of robots in a specific environment often requires the cooperation of multiple sensors, and how to establish a more general data fusion model is always a difficult problem. For the localization of robot fish in an indoor pool environment, this paper proposes an adaptive fusional algorithm based on fuzzy inference of dynamic weights. This paper firstly constructs a confidence probability table of sensors' signals based on the calibration data sets of BLE and UWB nodes at different distances, as the basis for updating the weights of the BLE or UWB nodes;secondly, the data obtained by each node in a single sampling period in the robot fish movement is vectorized to form a judgment matrix, and then the estimated distance is obtained by fuzzy inference together with the sensor weight;finally, the coordinates are calculated by the four-point positioning method. In this paper, more than 40 sets of experiments have been carried out with a simplified carangidae-like robot fish. The results show that the average positioning error is about 0.189m, which is 88.3% and 31.8% lower than that of using BLE only and using UWB only. In this paper, the fusional positioning method based on statistics combines the advantages of different sensors to reduce the data scale and achieve data denoising while fusing sensor data, which provides a reference for indoor positioning of robot fish and multi-sensor data fusion. © 2021 IEEE
