In this paper, we consider the design of an energy efficient collaborative federated learning (CFL) methodology where devices exchange their local FL parameters with a subset of their neighbors without reliance on a parameter server. In the considered model, mobile devices implement the designed CFL to train their local FL models using their own datasets over a realistic wireless network. Due to the limited wireless resources and user movements, each device may not be able to transmit its FL parameters with all neighboring devices. Therefore, each device must select a subset of devices to share its FL parameters and optimize the transmit power. This problem is formulated as an optimization problem, whose goal is to minimize CFL training energy consumption while satisfying the delay and CFL training loss requirements. To solve this problem, a two-stage solution is proposed. At the first stage, a graph neural network (GNN) based algorithm is proposed, which enables each device to individually determine the subset of devices to transmit FL parameters using its neighboring devices' location and connection information. Compared to standard iterative algorithms that need to iteratively optimize device connections and transmit power, the proposed GNN based method can directly obtain the optimal device connections without iterative optimization. Given the optimal device connections, at the second stage, each device can directly obtain the optimal transmit power. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can decrease energy consumption by up to 46% compared to the algorithm where each device will directly connect to its first and second nearest neighbors.

Robust data hiding techniques attempt to construct covert communication in a lossy public ***,the existing robust JPEG steganographic algorithms cannot overcome the side-information missing ***,this paper proposes a new robust JPEG steganographic algorithm based on the high tense region location method which needs no side-information of lossy ***,a tense region locating method is proposed based on the Harris-Laplacian feature ***,robust cover object generating processes are ***,the advanced embedding cost function is proposed.A series of experiments are conducted on various JPEG image sets and the results show that the proposed steganographic algorithm can resist JPEG compression efficiently with acceptable performance against steganalysis statistical detection libraries GFR(Gabor Filters Rich model)and DCTR(Discrete Cosine Transform Residual).

With the increasing application of computers and networks, several network security problems have emerged, and thus network intrusion detection systems have become the focus of network security research. In order to achieve the purpose of intrusion detection and protection, the traditional network intrusion detection system extracts features from the data of the network data stream according to the feature recognition algorithm and compares the extracted features with those in the training set to recognize the behavior. However, if a user wants to effectively detect malicious behaviors in the network, a large feature library is needed, and it cannot be shared with other users, which makes the quality of single user detection lower than the highest detection quality of the whole network. Blockchain, which is a new network system of decentralization, de-trust, tamper-proof, anti-counterfeiting, and traceability, plays an important role in the transmission and sharing of high-value data. In this paper, a new network intrusion detection system is designed based on blockchain, which can enable users to share feature libraries over the whole network by means of P2P network transmission. Meanwhile, its network structure and consensus algorithm are presented, and its security and performance are analyzed. Analysis results show that this system has lower false negative rates. © 2019 Totem Publisher, Inc. All rights reserved.

A simple geometric constraint often leads to novel, complex crystalline phases distinct from the bulk. Using thin-film charge colloidal crystals, a model system with tunable interactions, we study the effects of geometric constraints. Through a combination of experiments and simulations, we systematically explore phase reentrances and solid deformation modes concerning geometrical confinement strength, identifying two distinct categories of phase reentrances below a characteristic layer number, Nc: one for bcc bulk-stable and another for fcc bulk-stable systems. We further verify that the dominant thermodynamic origin is the nonmonotonic dependence of solids’ free energy on the degree of spatial confinement. Moreover, we discover transitions in solid deformation modes between interface-energy and bulk-energy dominance: below a specific layer number, Nk, geometric constraints generate unique soft deformation modes adaptive to confinement. These findings on the N-dependent thermodynamic and kinetic behaviors offer fresh insights into understanding and manipulating thin-film crystal structures.

As more embedded environments need license plate recognition systems, how to recognize car plates with high speed/accuracy and low energy has become an important and challenging problem. In this paper, we propose a ultra-Fast miNi (FaNi) license plate recognition (LPR) system. The FaNi system are divided into one training sub-system and one inference sub-system. The former are used to get some offline features; then, the latter is deployed online to recognize license numbers with nearly real-time speed. The inference system is comprised of the vision processing unit (VPU) and the display unit. These two parts are both implemented with hardware logic. Experiments show that the FaNi system can obtain high accuracy and high speed with low resource cost.

With the rapid development of the information society, there are corresponding tool solutions for various daily problems. Aiming at the complex generation process and inconvenient operation of heterogeneous components in a security defense system constructed with dissimilar redundancy, in this paper, we propose a practical basic software application isomerization tool chain, which integrates a series of key technologies of heterogeneous structures. At the same time, corresponding automated tests are provided for users to conduct comprehensive evaluation. Experimental evaluation shows that the tool chain will be able to provide heterogeneous component support for security defense technologies based on dissimilarity redundancy construction and improve the security of software systems.

In this paper, we extend the method implementing Virasoro operators in a tensor network we proposed in Wang et al. [Phys. Rev. B 106, 115116 (2022)] and test it on the Fibonacci model, which is known to suffer from far more finite-size effects. To pick up the “seed” state that would flow to the stress tensor in the thermodynamic limit, we make use of the topological idempotent that projects the transfer matrix to the trivial sector. Combined with an optimization method, the seed state can be identified. We demonstrate that the descendant states in the Fibonacci model can be correctly generated with this approximate stress tensor, giving further evidence that the method applies more generally.

Medical image registration is vital for disease diagnosis and treatment with its ability to merge diverse information of images, which may be captured under different times, angles, or modalities. Although several surveys have reviewed the development of medical image registration, these surveys have not systematically summarized methodologies of existing medical image registration methods. To this end, we provide a comprehensive review of these methods from traditional and deep learning-based directions, aiming to help audiences understand the development of medical image registration quickly. In particular, we review recent advances in retinal image registration at the end of each section, which has not attracted much attention. Additionally, we also discuss the current challenges of retinal image registration and provide insights and prospects for future research. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

City-level landmarks serve as an important foundation for achieving city-level and higher-precision IP geolocation. On the basis of the feature that router host names in network-developed areas often imply geographical location information, this paper proposes a city-level landmark evaluation algorithm based on router identification. Firstly, router host name matching rules are formulated by using plenty of network topology information obtained through probing. Secondly, the matching rules are used to extract router host names;the geographical locations corresponding to routers are queried through the established geographical location dictionary;and the nearest router that can obtain a city-level location in the probing path is reserved. Finally, candidate landmarks are evaluated based on the rule that the physical distance between network entities is less than the delay conversion distance. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively evaluate the reliability of landmarks: among the experimental results on 8000 network landmarks in 4 cities in the United states, compared with the typical database query-based landmark obtaining, the city-level accuracy rates of landmarks are increased by 4.4%, 6.85%, 4.35% and 7.05% respectively. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

A high-flux entangled-photon source is a key resource for quantum optical study and application. Here, it is realized in a lithium niobate on isolator (LNOI) chip, with 2.79 × 1011 Hz/mW photon-pair rate and 1.53 × 109 Hz/(nm mW) spectral brightness. These data are boosted by over 2 orders of magnitude compared with existing technologies. A 160-nm-broad bandwidth is engineered for eight-channel multiplexed energy-time entanglement. Harnessed by high-extinction-frequency correlation and Franson interferences up to 99.17% visibility, such energy-time-entanglement multiplexing further enhances the high-flux data rate and warrants broad application in quantum-information processing on a chip.
