The vulnerability of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) to adversarial examples has been confirmed. Existing adversarial defenses primarily aim at preventing adversarial examples from attacking DNNs successfully, rather than preventing their generation. If the generation of adversarial examples is unregulated, images within reach are no longer secure and pose a threat to non-robust DNNs. Although gradient obfuscation attempts to address this issue, it has been shown to be circumventable. Therefore, we propose a novel adversarial defense mechanism, which is referred to as immune defense and is the example-based pre-defense. This mechanism applies carefully designed quasi-imperceptible perturbations to the raw images to prevent the generation of adversarial examples for the raw images, and thereby protecting both images and DNNs. These perturbed images are referred to as Immune Examples (IEs). In the white-box immune defense, we provide a gradient-based and an optimization-based approach, respectively. Additionally, the more complex black-box immune defense is taken into consideration. We propose Masked Gradient Sign Descent (MGSD) to reduce approximation error and stabilize the update to improve the transferability of IEs and thereby ensure their effectiveness against black-box adversarial attacks. The experimental results demonstrate that the optimization-based approach has superior performance and better visual quality in white-box immune defense. In contrast, the gradient-based approach has stronger transferability and the proposed MGSD significantly improve the transferability of baselines. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Neural manifold learning (NML), as a significant research topic in the field of neuroscience, plays a vital role in the realization of intelligent brain-computer interface (BCI) at the edge. However, traditional edge computing platforms fall short in meeting the demands for the huge computing power needed to process massive neural data. Here, we design a 288Kb dual-mode phase change memory (PCM) compute-in-memory chip in 40nm technology and utilize its two cores for two fundamental kernels in NML, vector matrix multiplication (VMM) and true random number generation, and develop a PCM-based NML system for the first time. In particular, in order to mitigate the performance degradation caused by PCM conductance drift, we propose a novel adaptive-PCM-drift-compensation scheme that significantly improves the accuracy of VMM results. Compared with CPU platforms running the same tasks, the resulting chip improves the computing energy efficiency and throughput by 476× and 264×, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

As an important program analysis method, taint analysis technology has been widely used in the field of vulnerability detection. However, the existing dynamic taint analysis needs to design instruction-by-instruction taint propagation rules, which is expensive and has a high false positive rate for identifying the implicit control flow of the target program. In view of the above problems, this paper proposes a dynamic taint analysis method nnTaint based on neural network for the existing taint-guided fuzzing technology, which has the characteristics of low cost and low false positives. Comparing nnTaint with the existing taint analysis tools, the operation efficiency is improved by 10.9%-18.8% compared with the traditional taint analysis, which reduces the cost of the existing dynamic taint analysis technology to a certain extent. On the LAVA-M testing datasets and GNU binutils program, nnTaint improves the edge coverage by 4.7%-16% compared with the existing taint-guided fuzzing tools, effectively improving the implicit control flow recognition accuracy of the existing dynamic taint analysis. The results show that nnTaint can improve the efficiency and accuracy of existing dynamic taint analysis tools.

There are many vulnerable vulnerabilities in Web service of embedded devices. However, existing fuzzing methods cannot analyze such Web service efficiently or effectively. Aiming at the above problems, this paper proposes a fuzzing method based on Web service correlation information of embedded devices (Wsci-ed). Based on this method, this paper implements the fuzzing test prototype tool CinfoFuzz, which guides the fuzzing with Wsci-ed. Comparing the performance of CinfoFuzz with the fuzzing tools Boofuzz and Peach, the results show that CinfoFuzz has higher efficiency; in the vulnerability mining experiment of actual software, CinfoFuzz can trigger more vulnerabilities.

本文采用机器学习加速第一原理计算的方法,研究了铝基体中单原子的扩散迁移行为.建立铝基体中三十多种单原子扩散迁移行为的小样本数据集,以原子半径、离子半径和第一电离能等固有参数作为输入特征值,合金原子与空位之间的相互作用能以及合金原子在铝基体中的扩散势垒作为输出参数.通过相关性分析初步确定描述符与预测目标之间的关系,并利用递归特征消除法确定不同目标的输入特征和描述符数量.通过交叉验证证明所选模型的先进性,并进行微调以优化其性能.为了验证其效率和准确性,CatBoost模型经过了传统算法的严格测试.利用训练有素的模型预测周期表中其他单原子在铝基体中的扩散迁移行为.机器学习加速第一原理计算的结果可为进一步开发新型铝合金提供理论依据.

With the massive placement of sensors leading to a surge in IoT data, it is wise for system administrators to use data aggregation strategies to collect and share data in edge-assisted IoT scenarios because traditional methods will exhaust bandwidth resources. Users need to verify the integrity of aggregated data to ensure security sharing. However, existing data auditing technologies are disabled because aggregate data has no metadata. This paper proposes a blockchain-based auditing scheme for aggregated data to achieve efficient and secure data sharing. First, we design a hash index balanced tree (HIBT) to reduce the computational expense of signature retrieval. Then, we propose an audit protocol to protect aggregated data immutability. Programmable logic controllers(PLCs)play a critical role in many industrial control systems,yet face increasingly serious cyber *** this paper,we propose a novel PLC-compatible software-based defense mechanism,called Heterogeneous Redundant Proactive Defense Framework(HRPDF).We propose a heterogeneous PLC architecture in HRPDF,including multiple heterogeneous,equivalent,and synchronous runtimes,which can thwart multiple types of attacks against PLC without the need of external *** ensure the availability of PLC,we also design an inter-process communication algorithm that minimizes the overhead of *** implement a prototype system of HRPDF and test it in a real-world PLC and an OpenPLC-based device,*** results show that HRPDF can defend against multiple types of attacks with 10.22%additional CPU and 5.56%additional memory overhead,and about 0.6 ms additional time overhead.

Semivortex solitons and their excited states in spin-orbit-coupled binary bosonic condensates

It is known that two-dimensional two-component fundamental solitons of the semivortex (SV) type, with vorticities (s+,s−)=(0,1) in their components, are stable ground states (GSs) in the spin-orbit-coupled (SOC) binary Bose-Einstein condensate with the contact self-attraction acting in both components, in spite of the possibility of the critical collapse in the system. However, excited states (ESs) of the SV solitons, with the vorticity set (s+,s−)=(S+,S++1) and S+=1,2,3,..., are unstable in the same system. We construct ESs of SV solitons in the SOC system with opposite signs of the self-interaction in the two components. The main finding is stability of the ES-SV solitons, with the extra vorticity (at least) up to S+=6. The threshold value of the norm for the onset of the critical collapse, Nthr, in these excited states is higher than the commonly known critical value, Nc≈5.85, associated with the single-component Townes solitons, Nthr increasing with the growth of S+. A velocity interval for stable motion of the GS-SV solitons is found too. The results suggest a solution for the challenging problem of the creation of stable vortex solitons with high topological charges.
