Insects that can perform flapping-wing flight,climb on a wall,and switch smoothly between the 2 locomotion regimes provide us with excellent biomimetic ***,very few biomimetic robots can perform complex locomotion tasks that combine the 2 abilities of climbing and ***,we describe an aerial–wall amphibious robot that is self-contained for flying and climbing,and that can seamlessly move between the air and *** adopts a flapping/rotor hybrid power layout,which realizes not only efficient and controllable flight in the air but also attachment to,and climbing on,the vertical wall through a synergistic combination of the aerodynamic negative pressure adsorption of the rotor power and a climbing mechanism with bionic adhesion *** the basis of the attachment mechanism of insect foot pads,the prepared biomimetic adhesive materials of the robot can be applied to various types of wall surfaces to achieve stable *** longitudinal axis layout design of the rotor dynamics and control strategy realize a unique cross-domain movement during the flying–climbing transition,which has important implications in understanding the takeoff and landing of ***,it enables the robot to cross the air–wall boundary in 0.4 s(landing),and cross the wall–air boundary in 0.7 s(taking off).The aerial–wall amphibious robot expands the working space of traditional flying and climbing robots,which can pave the way for future robots that can perform autonomous visual monitoring,human search and rescue,and tracking tasks in complex air–wall environments.

The Bypass Dual Throat Nozzle(BDTN)is a novel fluidic Thrust Vectoring(TV)nozzle,it switches to TV state by opening the valve in the *** greatly manipulate the BDTN,the dynamic characteristics in the TV starting process should be *** paper conducts numerical simulations to grasp the variation processes of performances and the flow field evolution of BDTN and Dual Throat Nozzle(DTN).The dynamic responses of TV starting in typical DTN models are investigated at ***,the TV starting processes of BDTN in different Nozzle Pressure Ratio(NPR)conditions are simulated,and the valve opening durations(T)are also *** the expected TV direction is achieved in the DTN,the jet is deflected to the opposite direction at the beginning of the dynamic process,which is called the reverse TV ***,this phenomenon disappears in the *** larger injection width of DTN intensifies unsteady oscillations,and the reverse TV phenomenon is *** the BDTN,T determines the delay degree of performance variations compared to the static results,which is called hysteresis *** NPR=10,the hysteresis affects the final stable performance of *** study analyses the dynamic characteristics in DTN and BDTN,laying a foundation for further design of nozzles and control strategies.

Experimental verification of a PIV-based pressure field reconstruction technology in supersonic flows

This study proposes a novel approach that involves applying the flux vector splitting(FVS)technique to discretize and approximate conservative Navier-Stokes equations and thus reconstruct pressure fields from planar velocimetry data in compressible flows,especially for supersonic flows with strong *** are typically resolved by using the particle image velocimetry(PIV)*** supersonic experiments under Mach 2.9-3.0 conditions were conducted to generate strong shocks and investigate the performance of the FVS method,including oblique shock flow and shock wave/boundary layer interaction(SWBLI)coupled with flow *** pressure fields were comprehensively *** shock polar results indicated that FVS method possessed higher accuracy in post-shock regions with a pressure ratio error of less than2%,especially for the areas downstream of the shock-shock intersection point and the shock-boundary intersection point,where the conventional Poisson method was ineffective and larger errors *** pressure in SWBLI flow also had better ***,the performances of different methods were discussed from the perspective of the physical characteristics in supersonic flows,which explained the superiority of the FVS method because the pressure information was delivered along the characteristic direction of physical waves.

Deployment dynamics and experiments of a tendon-actuated flexible manipulator

The quantity of space debris on Earth orbit has escalated tremendously in recent years, presenting a significant hazard to human space operations. It is urgent to develop effective measures to capture and remove various space debris. For this purpose, this paper presents a tendon-actuated flexible deployable manipulator. The flexible manipulator consists of several deployable units connected by Cardan joints and actuated by tendons. Compared with the present technologies for capturing space debris such as rigid robotic arm or flying net, this flexible manipulator is deployable, reusable, lightweight and applicable to the capture of large space debris. In order to investigate its deployment dynamics, an accurate dynamic model of the flexible manipulator is established based on the natural coordinate formulation (NCF) and the absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF). Subsequently, numerical simulations are carried out to study the effects of system parameters and the base satellite on its deployment dynamics. Finally, ground experiments for both deployment and bending of the flexible manipulator are conducted to verify its effectiveness and feasibility.

Distributed Fault Tolerant control of Multi-Agent System Based on LSTM Trajectory Prediction Model Under Intermittent Communication Faults

This paper proposes a novel trajectory prediction based fault-tolerant control method for multi-agent systems under intermittent communication faults. Agents affected by intermittent communication faults are unable to communicate with neighbors or obtain reference tracking information for a period of time. To address this issue, we first employ a trajectory prediction model trained using long short term memory neural network to predict the expected trajectory in the event of intermittent communication faults. Subsequently, a distributed controller based on fixed-time theory is designed to track the predicted values. Compared with the existing fault-tolerant control methods, the proposed strategy achieves smaller consensus errors and a longer tolerable intermittent inter-ruption interval. Moreover, it demonstrates the capability to predict the actual expected trajectory trends of agents during large-angle maneuvers. Finally, the effectiveness of the fault-tolerant control strategy is verified by simulation. Copyright © 2025 by ASME.

Free vibration of functionally graded sandwich plates in thermal environments
