Tough elastomers and gels have garnered broad research interest due to their wide-ranging potential ***,during the loading and unloading cycles,a clear stress softening behavior can be observed in many material systems,which is also named as the Mullins *** this work,we aim to provide a complete review of the Mullins effect in soft yet tough materials,specifically focusing on nanocomposite gels,double-network hydrogels,and multi-network *** first revisit the experimental observations for these soft *** then discuss the recent developments of constitutive models,emphasizing novel developments in the damage mechanisms or network *** phenomenological models will also be briefly *** attention is then placed on the anisotropic and multiaxial modeling *** is demonstrated that most of the existing models fail to accurately predict the multiaxial data,posing a significant challenge for developing future anisotropic models tailored for tough gels and elastomers.

Fabricating PdCe/OMS-2 catalysts with boosted low-temperature activity for toluene deep degradation

Porous cryptomelane-type octahedral molecular sieve(OMS-2)with mixed Mn valence and abundant lattice oxygen species has attracted much attention in volatile organic compounds(VOC)catalytic ***,complete conversion of arene over OMS-2 catalysts at relatively low temperature is still a challenge due to its limited crystal structure and inferior ***,a series of PdCe/OMS-2 catalysts with different Pd/Ce molar ratios was fabricated by a facile impregnation method and the physicochemical properties of which were extensively characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM),B runauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)method,X-ray fluorescence(XRF),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),temperature programmed reduction of H2(H2-TPR),Raman,In situ diffused reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectra(DRIFTS),and density functional theory(DFT)*** show that the total conversion of toluene can be achieved at 207℃ over PdCe2 with apparent activation energy as low as 62.6 kJ/*** strong synergistic effect between Pd and Ce remarkably boosts the catalytic activity of OMS-2,attributed to the abundant Mn^(3+)-O bands and active surface oxygen *** results reveal that oxygen vacancy can be formed over PdCe2 much easily than that of Pd/OMS-2 and Ce/OMS-2 with the oxygen vacancy formation energy of2.42,2.83 and 2.68 eV,*** increasing the Pd content cannot promote the catalytic activity although PdO is a critical active center in toluene *** vacancy attributed to the integrative effect of Pd,Ce and Mn species plays a promine nt role over prepared catalysts in toluene activation *** findings reported in this work showed new insights into the designing of highly efficient OMS-2catalysts for VOC deep oxidation by tuning oxygen vacancy concentration.

Perturbed low-thrust geostationary orbit transfer guidance via polynomial costate estimation

This paper proposes an optimal,robust,and efficient guidance scheme for the perturbed minimum-time low-thrust transfer toward the geostationary *** Earth’s oblateness perturbation and shadow are taken into *** is difficult for a Lyapunov-based or trajectory-tracking guidance method to possess multiple characteristics at the same time,including high guidance optimality,robustness,and onboard computational *** this work,a concise relationship between the minimum-time transfer problem with orbital averaging and its optimal solution is identified,which reveals that the five averaged initial costates that dominate the optimal thrust direction can be approximately determined by only four initial modified equinoctial orbit elements after a coordinate *** on this relationship,the optimal averaged trajectories constituting the training dataset are randomly generated around a nominal averaged *** polynomial regression models are trained on the training dataset and are regarded as the costate *** the transfer,the spacecraft can obtain the real-time approximate optimal thrust direction by combining the costate estimations provided by the estimators with the current state at any ***,all these computations onboard are *** simulation results show that the proposed guidance scheme possesses extremely high guidance optimality,robustness,and onboard computational efficiency.

Multi-step state-based opacity for unambiguous weighted machines

Opacity is a central concept in the issue of privacy security and has been studied extensively in fields such as finite automata, probabilistic automata, and stochastic automata. Here, we investigate the problem of validating multi-step opaque properties through unambiguous weighted machines from the perspective of cyber-physical systems. First, the notion of multi-step state-based opacity for unambiguous weighted machines is presented and defined. It includes two variants of delays with a finite K and infinite steps. Subsequently, the weighted state estimate with K(infinite)-step delay is established by abstracting the possible state set that the system could have through these weighted observations. Meanwhile, to keep the observable weighted sequence consistent between the bidirectional observers, the unobserved weights of the reverse weighted machine are assumed to be reserved. Subsequently, the existence conditions are developed, and the corresponding algorithms, termed the weighted bidirectional observer, are generalized to verify these properties. Finally, several numerical examples are illustrated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Taken together, the current approach will be conducive to a deep understanding of the security and privacy of cyber-physical systems.

Research on Parameters Optimization of Rectangular Pole Teeth for Magnetic Fluid Seals

To optimize the magnetic fluid seal design,the single-factor method is usually used to study the e ect of the rectangular pole teeth structure parameters on the sealing capacity of the magnetic fluid seal by current research,and the design formula is ***,the supporting data is too few to make the results *** this paper,to obtain a wider range of applicable design formulas,a large number of modeling and simulation experiments are conducted using the co-simulation analysis experimental method of MATLAB and *** influence of structure parameters of rectangular pole teeth and the coupling e ects of the structure parameters on the sealing capacity of sealing devices has been studied under di erent lengths of pole piece(L_(p))and seal gap(L_(g)).The results explain the influences of tooth height(L_(h)),tooth width(L_(t)),groove width(Ls),and their coupling e ects on the theoretical sealing capacity of magnetic fluid seals,and more widely applicable design formulas for pole teeth structure parameters are *** design formulas can help to obtain good design parameters directly or reduce the optimization range when the magnetic fluid seals need to be optimized to meet the miniaturization and lightweightrequirements of magnetic fluid sealing devices or improve the sealing capacity under the same seal size.

Investigation on the Mechanical Properties and Shape Memory Effect of Landing Buffer Structure Based on Ni Ti Alloy Printing

With the deepening of human research on deep space exploration, our research on the soft landing methods of landers has gradually deepened. Adding a buffer and energy-absorbing structure to the leg structure of the lander has become an effective design solution. Based on the energy-absorbing structure of the leg of the interstellar lander, this paper studies the appearance characteristics of the predatory feet of the Odontodactylus scyllarus. The predatory feet of the Odontodactylus scyllarus can not only hit the prey highly when preying, but also can easily withstand the huge counter-impact force. The predatory feet structure of the Odontodactylus scyllarus, like a symmetrical cone, shows excellent rigidity and energy absorption capacity. Inspired by this discovery, we used SLM technology to design and manufacture two nickel-titanium samples, which respectively show high elasticity, shape memory, and get better energy absorption capacity. This research provides an effective way to design and manufacture highmechanical energy-absorbing buffer structures using bionic 3D printing technology and nickel-titanium alloys.

Exploring advanced platinum (Pt)-based electrocatalysts is vital for the widespread implementation of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Morphology control represents an effective strategy to optimize the behavior of Pt catalysts. In this work, an attempt is made to comprehensively review the effect of morphology control on the catalytic behavior of catalysts in the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). First, the fundamental physicochemical changes behind morphology control, including exposing more active sites, generating appropriate lattice strains, and forming different crystalline surfaces, are highlighted. Then, recently developed strategies for tuning the morphologies of electrocatalysts, including core-shell structures, hollow structures, nanocages, nanowires, and nanosheets, are comprehensively summarized. Finally, an outlook on the future development of morphology control of Pt catalysts is presented, including rational design strategies, advanced in situ characterization techniques, novel artificial intelligence, and mechanical learning. This work is intended to provide valuable insights into designing the morphology and technological innovation of efficient redox electrocatalysts in fuel cells.

Epitaxial growth of borophene on graphene surface towards efficient and broadband photodetector

In-situ integration of multiple materials with well-defined interfaces as heterostructures is of great interest due to their unique properties and potential for new device *** of its polymorphism and diverse bonding geometries,borophene is a promising candidate for two-dimensional heterostructures,but suitable synthesis conditions have limited its potential *** this end,we demonstrate the vertical borophene and graphene heterostructures which form by epitaxial growth of borophene onto multilayer graphene on Cu substrates via chemical vapor deposition,where hydrogen and NaBH_(4) are respectively used as the carrier gas and the boron *** lattice structure of the as-synthesized borophene well coincides with the predictedα′-boron *** borophene-based photodetector shows an excellent broadband photoresponse from the ultraviolet(255 nm)to the infrared(940 nm)wavelengths,with enhanced responsivity compared to pristine borophene or graphene *** work informs emerging efforts to integrate borophene into nanoelectronic applications for both fundamental investigations and technological applications.

Release characteristics of arsenic from sediments and its source or sink competition with phosphorus:A case of a great lake with grass-algae alternation

The arsenic(As)release from sediments in great lakes is affected by various *** this study,the characteristics of As release fromsediments was investigated,and the As sources and sinks with the strengths in sediments from different areas(grass-type,algae-type,and grass-algae alternation areas)in great shallow lakes(Taihu Lake,China)were analyzed,and the influence of P competition in the process of As release was also *** results showed that changing trend of the values of equilibrium As concentration in sediments were consistent with the regional changes(0 to 28.12μg/L),and the sediments from algaetype areas had the higher *** sediments from western lake and northwest lake bay were a strong As and a weak P source,and the north lake bay had the opposite trend of these two *** P source competition with As from the sediments occurred in algae-type *** grass-type areas had strong As and P retention capacities,indicating a sink role of sediment with high As and P sorption *** degree of As and P saturation had similar trend in sediments,and the grass-type areas had the higher values,18.3%-21.4%and 15.31%-20.34%,*** analysis results showed that most of As release contribution was from the bottom(30-50 cm)sediments,and the surface(0-10 cm)sediments from algae-type areas contributed more to the overlying water than other region.
