Ultralow friction of ion-containing water nanodroplets

We reveal the ultralow friction or superlubricity of water nanodroplets containing cations and anions on graphene substrates at high ion concentration by molecular dynamics *** the ion concentration is higher than 7 wt.%and the nanodroplet diameter is larger than 10 nm,the friction coefficients of water nanodroplets are lower than 10−2,and can decrease to the order of 10−3 with increasing the ion concentration *** a certain ion concentration,the optimal nanodroplet diameter of 17–20 nm exists at which the friction coefficient is the *** ultralow friction behaviors of water nanodroplets containing cations and anions are mainly attributed to the opposite variation trends between the interfacial adhesion energy and surface energy of water nanodroplet with ion concentration,and the interfacial hydrophobicity sustained by high ion *** results unveil the essential role of ions in achieving the superlubricity of water nanodroplets.

Our extensive nonequilibrium and equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations reveal the ion-induced interfacial friction reduction of NaCl-containing water nanoflow over *** under a normal pressure,with the increase in ion concentration,the friction coefficients of water nanoflow at the water/graphene interfaces decrease,and the slip lengths and shear viscosities of water nanoflow *** interfacial friction reduction with the increase in ion concentration is mainly attributed to the decrease in interfacial hydrated ions and the weaker binding of water molecules with graphene at a higher ion *** presence of ions changes the hydrogen bond networks and structural configuration of water molecules close to the underlying graphene sheets and plays a key role in reducing the interfacial friction between water nanoflow and graphene.

Influence of nanosized magnesia on the hydration of borehole-sealing cements prepared using different methods

Nanoscale Zero-Valent Iron(nZVI)for Heavy Metal Wastewater Treatment:A Perspective

Improving aircraft nose wheel steering stability based on control continuation method

Aircraft steering instability during the taxiing process sometimes occurs resulting from the unstable bifurcation phenomena of the nonlinear steering dynamic system,which may lead to severe *** this study,the control parameter design of an aircraft nose wheel steering control system based on the control continuation method is proposed to reduce the number of unstable bifurcation points and enlarge the system stable region area in a certain parameter ***,the aircraft turning performance can be improved ***,a nonlinear aircraft rollout dynamic model is constructed,and the aircraft ground steering bifurcation characteristics are obtained under the open-loop steering control ***,the bifurcation performances under three closed-loop nose wheel steering controllers based on the feedback control method are compared,and the control parameter of the quadratic nonlinear controller with a better bifurcation control effect is selected as a second bifurcation parameter to analyze the directional system stability via two-parameter bifurcation ***,the influence of a crosswind on the aircraft ground steering bifurcation performance is studied for various control parameter ***,the control effects of a traditional proportional-integral-derivative(PID)nose wheel steering control law and the designed feedback controller are compared and ***,a semi-physical experiment of the aircraft nose wheel steering system is carried out,and different control parameter values are selected for test verification,which can further verify the control effect of the designed nonlinear feedback *** results indicate that the feedback control method is unable to vary the system bifurcation types,but appropriate control parameter design can effectively shrink the system instability region and even eliminate the unstable Hopf bifurcation points under some specific working conditions,improving the aircraft ground turning stability re

Eco-friendly regeneration of end-of-life PVDF membrane with triethyl phosphate:Efficiency and mechanism

Membrane will inevitably reach the end of its lifespan due to the irrecoverable fouling accumulation in membrane bioreactors(MBRs)during long-term ***,we developed an eco-friendly membrane regeneration strategy with triethyl phosphate(TEP),which successfully prolonged the lifespan of end-of-life(EOL)polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)membranes in a large-scale *** regenerated(Rg)membrane exhibited a water permeance of 534.8±45.7 L m^(-2)h^(-1)bar-1,along with stable rejection rate,which was comparable with that of the new ***,compared to the membrane subjected solely to preliminary cleaning,the Rg membrane presented a more hydrophilic surface due to the combination of preliminary cleaning and solvent-based ***,the Rg membrane presented less fouling propensity with the critical flux of 15.2 L m^(-2)h^(-1),significantly higher than that of the EOL membrane(4.0 L m^(-2)h^(-1)).Importantly,the membrane regeneration strategy was capable of guaranteeing the effluent quality in MBR systems for treating real municipal *** study provides an eco-friendly membrane regeneration strategy for effectively removing the irrecoverable foulants,thereby promoting the advancement of sustainable membrane-based wastewater treatment technology.

A systematic evaluation of helicopter cabin noise:Case study of Robinson R44 RAVEN Ⅱ

This paper presents a comprehensive test and systematic evaluation analysis of cabin noise in the Robinson R44 RAVEN II ***,microphones were placed within the cabin to conduct systematic assessments of noise levels under various flight conditions,including takeoff,climbing,level flight,landing,hovering,***,time–frequency analysis was conducted on the test data utilizing traditional A-weighted sound pressure levels,which was followed by quantitative comparisons across different flight ***,detailed evaluation and discussion were conducted,taking into account the subjective perceptions and communication challenges of cabin crew *** assessment incorporated the use of aviation noise indicators,speech interference levels,and metrics related to sound ***,potential noise reduction measures and their effects were preliminarily *** results indicate that helicopter cabin noise exhibited variations across different flight states or positions within the same state,ranging from 87.6 d B(A) to 92.6 dB(A).Discrepancies between A-weighted sound pressure level and psychoacoustic parameters were observed,particularly during hovering states,which indicate that there is a necessity for the combination of multiple evaluation ***,damping measure can serve as a pivotal factor in mitigating cabin noise.

Biomineralized nanoparticles for the immobilization and degradation of crude oil-contaminated soil
