A global perspective on microbial risk factors in effluents of wastewater treatment plants

Effective monitoring and management of microbial risk factors in wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)effluents require a comprehensive investigation of these risks.A global survey on microbial risk factors in WWTP effluents could reveal important insights into their risk *** study aims to explore the abundance and types of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs),virulence factor genes(VFGs),the vector of ARG/VFG,and dominant pathogens in global WWTP *** collected 113 metagenomes of WWTP effluents from the Sequence Read Archive of the National Center for Biotechnology Information and characterized the microbial risk *** results showed that multidrug resistance was the dominant ARG type,while offensive virulence factors were the most abundant type of *** most dominant types of ARGs in the vector of plasmid and phage were both aminoglycoside resistance,which is concerning as aminoglycosides are often a last resort for treating multi-resistant *** baumannii was the most dominant pathogen,rather than Escherichia coli,and a weak negative correlation between Escherichia coli and two other dominant pathogens(Acinetobacter baumannii and Bacteroides uniformis)suggests that using Escherichia coli as a biological indicator for all pathogens in WWTP effluents may not be *** Getah virus was the most dominant virus found in global WWTP *** study presents a comprehensive global-scale investigation of microbial risk factors in WWTP effluents,providing valuable insights into the potential risks associated with WWTP effluents and contributing to the monitoring and control of these risks.

To improve the thermoelectric converting performance in applications such as power generation,reutilization of heat energy,refrigeration,and ultrasensitive sensors in scramjet engines,a thermoelectric film/substrate system is widely designed and applied,whose interfacial behavior dominates the strength and service life of thermoelectric ***,a theoretical model of a thermoelectric film bonded to a graded substrate is *** interfacial shear stress,the normal stress in the thermoelectric film,and the stress intensity factors affected by various material and geometric parameters are comprehensively *** is found that adjusting the inhomogeneity parameter of the graded substrate,thermal conductivity,and current density of the thermoelectric film can reduce the risk of interfacial failure of the thermoelectric film/graded substrate *** a stiffer and thicker thermoelectric film is advantageous to the reliability of the thermoelectric film/graded substrate *** results should be of great guiding significance for the present and upcoming applications of thermoelectric materials in various fields.

Water reuse is an effective way to solve the issues of current wastewater increments and water resource ***,a promising method for water reuse,has the characteristics of low energy consumption,easy operation,and high adaptability to coupling with other water treatment ***,emerging organic contaminants(EOCs)in municipal wastewater cannot be effectively intercepted by ultrafiltration,which poses significant challenges to the effluent quality and sustainability of ultrafiltration ***,we develop a cobalt single-atom catalyst-tailored ceramic membrane(Co1-NCNT-CM)in conjunction with an activated peroxymonosulfate(PMS)system,achieving excellent EOCs degradation and anti-fouling *** interfacial reaction mechanism effectively mitigates membrane fouling through a repulsive interaction with natural organic *** generation of singlet oxygen at the Co-N3-C active sites through a catalytic pathway(PMS/PMS*/OH*/O*/OO*/1 O_(2))exhibits selective oxidation of phenols and sulfonamides,achieving>90%removal *** findings elucidate a multi-layered functional architecture within the Co1-NCNT-CM/PMS system,responsible for its superior performance in organic decontamination and membrane maintenance during secondary effluent *** highlights the power of integrating Co1-NCNT-CM/PMS systems in advanced wastewater treatment frameworks,specifically for targeted EOCs removal,heralding a new direction for sustainable water management.

Cogging torque is a unique issue in the servo systems of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and a key problem that must be addressed in the design and manufacturing of high-performance permanent magnet motors. Due to their inherent structural characteristics, PMSMs inevitably produce cogging torque, which leads to disturbances and noise, particularly detrimental to motor control systems operating at low speeds. Additionally, the presence of cogging torque affects the positioning accuracy of the rotor at any given moment. This paper presents a high-quality control method for suppressing cogging torque. The proposed cogging torque suppression strategy is studied through simulations and compared with traditional cogging torque suppression strategies. The simulation results indicate that the proposed high-precision positioning servo control method is effective in suppressing cogging torque. Copyright 2025 Global IT Research institute (GIRI). In the passive detection and positioning technology of UAV based on the principle of time difference of arrival (TDOA), the existing time-difference estimation method which relies on signal cross-correlation puts forward high requirements for waveform correlation of received signals. Noise interference in the received signal will lead to a large error in time delay estimation, which will seriously affect the positioning accuracy. To solve this problem, an improved wavelet threshold estimation method for UAV signal arrival time difference is proposed in this paper. In order to solve the problem of signal correlation and noise in traditional TDOA estimation method, wavelet denoising technology is used to pre-process the received signal and improve the accuracy of TDOA estimation. In addition, a new soft threshold function is introduced, which is improved on the traditional threshold function, reduces the oscillation of the hard threshold function and the constant error of the soft threshold function, while maintaining the local characteristics of the signal. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and measured data. The results show that the improved wavelet threshold denoising method has better denoising performance and significantly improves the stability and accuracy of TDOA estimation. Dear Editor,Two-dimensional(2-D) systems have wide applications in image data processing,gas absorption and fluid dynamics analysis [1]-[3].When there exist abrupt changes in 2-D systems,they are usually modeled by 2-D Markov jump systems(MJSs) or 2-D semi-Markov jump systems(SMJSs).This letter investigates the control of 2-D SMJSs based on a novel mode generation mechanism,which could avoid mode ambiguousness phenomenon caused by the evolution of system mode in two different *** criterion that guarantees the almost surely exponential stability of the system is obtained.A thermal process is studied to demonstrate the availability of the proposed method.

This paper develops a quadratic function convex approximation approach to deal with the negative definite problem of the quadratic function induced by stability analysis of linear systems with time-varying *** introducing two adjustable parameters and two free variables,a novel convex function greater than or equal to the quadratic function is constructed,regardless of the sign of the coefficient in the quadratic *** developed lemma can also be degenerated into the existing quadratic function negative-determination(QFND)lemma and relaxed QFND lemma respectively,by setting two adjustable parameters and two free variables as some particular ***,for a linear system with time-varying delays,a relaxed stability criterion is established via our developed lemma,together with the quivalent reciprocal combination technique and the Bessel-Legendre *** a result,the conservatism can be reduced via the proposed approach in the context of constructing Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals for the stability analysis of linear time-varying delay ***,the superiority of our results is illustrated through three numerical examples.

Autonomous navigation is one of the key technologies for spacecraft to realize long-term space operation and carry out science missions. In order to meet the requirement of high precision autonomous navigation, the effects of the gravitational deflection of light, stellar aberration and measurement bias of sensor are considered to establish a relativistic-perturbed starlight navigation scheme. To obtain high quality measurements, a multi-probe star sensor composed of multiple field of view probes is adopted for observation. A polygonal star pair selection method is proposed to conduct multi-view joint target selection. By constructing irregular polygons to select high quality star pair observations, the accuracy of navigation estimation is expected to be improved. The performance of relativistic-perturbed starlight navigation using the multi-view joint target selection method is then verified through a numerical simulation. © 2024 IEEE.

The Automatic Identification System (AIS), as a standard communication and navigation device for ships, plays a significant role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of maritime traffic. The accuracy of the AIS receiver’s signal processing directly affects the bit error rate (BER) and packet error rate (PER) of the AIS system, drawing considerable attention to AIS signal reception and processing technologies. Current research on AIS reception signals mainly focuses on custom implementations using hardware platforms like FPGAs;however, the high cost of hardware implementation has become a limiting factor in the development of AIS signal processing technologies. Therefore, this paper designs an AIS reception signal processing system based on GNU Radio, developing demodulation algorithm and NRZI decoding modules, and testing them with typical demodulation algorithms. To address the security risks in vehicular network communication that current technologies cannot resolve, this paper proposes a multi-key data aggregation algorithm for the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). By adopting multi-key fully homomorphic encryption over rings, the algorithm ensures that data remains encrypted during transmission and aggregation, with encryption operations conducted over rings, thereby enhancing computational efficiency and decryption accuracy. This approach protects vehicle data in the IoV from unauthorized access by institutions or attackers and ensures the security and accuracy of the aggregation process. Throughout the data processing flow, multi-layer encryption and homomorphic operations further enhance data confidentiality and processing efficiency, providing effective technical support for IoV information security.
