Exploring reservoir computing:Implementation via double stochastic nanowire networks

Torque allocation of four-wheel drive EVs considering tire slip energy

With the increasing peak torque of the in-wheel motor, the tire slip energy dissipation becomes as considerable as the motor energy loss. The actuation redundancy in four-wheel drive electric vehicles has the innate advantage of reducing the energy dissipation of the tire slip according to different criteria. This study innovatively optimizes the energy loss of the motor and the slip energy consumption of the tire under a unified framework. A more accurate calculation model of the tire slip force and slip energy is adopted in the cost function. Its feasibility and potential are shown through simulation case studies based on different road adhesion coefficients among three allocation methods: considering both motor energy loss and tire slip loss, only considering the motor energy loss, and only considering the axis load distribution. The simulation results demonstrate that the torque allocation method considering both motor energy loss and tire slip loss can dramatically reduce the tire slip energy and tire wear with an acceptable motor energy efficiency sacrifice compared to the present allocation algorithms.

Accurate measurement of current feedback is an important prerequisite for high performance permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive systems. For the actual control system, due to the thermal drift, aging, nonlinearity and some other factors of the current sensors and the corresponding conditioning circuits, current measurement error will occur and correspondingly will result in torque and speed ripples. To overcome this issue, an online current measurement error compensation (CMEC) method for PMSM drive system is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the influence of different kinds of current measurement errors, the offset error and scaling error, is analyzed from the perspective of open loop control. Secondly, a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) based CMEC method is proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated on a 1kW commercialized servo motor test rig, results show that the proposed method can reduce 80% of the current ripple. © 2024 IEEE.

To elucidate the adsorption characteristics and retention mechanisms of fracturing fluids in diverse clay minerals,we conducted on-line nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)and atomic force microscopy(AFM)*** depth and extent of solid phase damage are determined by the ratio between the size of fine fractions in fracturing fluid residue and the pore-throat size in *** physical properties(K<0.5 mD)result in a more preferential flow pathway effect during flowback,and the stepwise incremental pressure differential proves to be more effective for the discharge of fracturing fluid in submicron pore *** permeability is significantly influenced by the differential distri-bution of retained fracturing fluid,as supported by direct experimental *** presence of good physical properties(K>0.5 mD)combined with a scattered distribution of retained fracturing fluid is associated with high gas phase recovery permeability,whereas a continuous sheet-like distribution results in low recovery *** expansive surface area and presence of filamentous illite minerals facilitate the multiple winding and adsorption of fracturing fluids,demonstrating strong hydrogen-bonding,multi-layering and multiple adsorption *** geological characteristics of the main gas formations exhibit significant variation,and the severity of damage caused by fracturing fluids occurs in diverse *** address this issue,a differentiated strategy for optimizing frac-turing fluids has been proposed.

Metagenomics reveals the microbial community and functional metabolism variation in the partial nitritation-anammox process:From collapse to recovery

Mainstream partial nitritation-anammox(PNA)process easily suffers from performance instability and even reactor collapse in ***,it is of great significance to unveil the characteristic of performance recovery,understand the intrinsic mechanism and then propose operational *** this study,we combined long-term reactor operation,batch tests,and metagenomics to reveal the succession of microbial community and functional metabolism variation from system collapse to *** aeration control(0.10-0.25mg O_(2)/L)was critical for performance *** was also found that Candidatus Brocadia became the dominant flora and its abundance increased from 3.5%to 11.0%.Significant enhancements in carbon metabolism and phospholipid biosynthesis were observed during system recovery,and the genes abundance related to signal transduction was dramatically *** up-regulation of sdh and suc genes showed the processes of succinate dehydrogenation and succinyl-CoA synthesis might stimulate the production of amino acids and the synthesis of proteins,thereby possibly improving the activity and abundance of AnAOB,which was conducive to the performance ***,the increase in abundance of hzs and hdh genes suggested the enhancement of the anammox *** in the abundance of key genes involved in nitrogen metabolism indicated that nitrogen removal pathway was more diverse after system *** achievement of performance recovery was driven by anammox,nitrification and denitrification coupled with dissimilatory nitrate reduction to *** results provide deeper insights into the recovery mechanism of PNA system and also provide a potential regulation strategy for the stable operation of the mainstream PNA process.

Reinforcement learning for optimal tracking of large-scale systems with multitime scales

This paper aims to solve an optimal tracking control(OTC) problem of large-scale systems with multitime scales and coupled subsystems using singular perturbation(SP) theory and reinforcement learning(RL) techniques. A considerable contribution of this paper is the development of a data-driven SP-based RL method for the OTC of unknown large-scale systems with multitime scales. To achieve this, a multitime scale tracking problem was decomposed into a linear quadratic tracker problem for slow subsystems and a dynamical game problem for fast subsystems using the SP theory. Then, the distributed composite feedback controllers were found using a distributed off-policy integral RL algorithm that uses only measured data from the system in real time. Thus, the operational index can follow its prescribed target value via an approximately optimal approach. Theoretical analysis and proof are presented to demonstrate that the sum of the performances of reduced-order subsystems is approximately equal to the performance of the original large-scale system. Finally, numerical and practical examples are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Enhanced degradation of florfenicol by microscale SiC/Fe:Dechlorination via hydrogenolysis

Herein,the degradation of florfenicol(FLO)over zero-valent iron(ZVI)enhanced by SiC was systematically *** was found that 5 g/L of ZVI/SiC(1:3)at pH 3.0 could completely degrade 20 mg/L of FLO within 1 h,with a Kobsvalue of 0.0873 min^(-1),12.5 times greater than that of pure ZVI(0.0069 min^(-1)).Vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)characterizations revealed that the use of SiC supporter reduces the magnetic intensity of ZVI,which mitigates iron particle agglomeration,increases Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface area,and enhances FLO degradation ***,ZVI/SiC exhibits a much lower hydrogen evolution potential(HEP)and significantly higher corrosion currents compared to pure *** was proposed to undergo degradation via reductive dechlorination,involving a hydrogenolysis mechanism that entails the cleavage of theσ*** study provides new insights into the reduction hydrogenation mechanism of ZVI.
