A facile ionic liquid approach to prepare cellulose fiber with good mechanical properties directly from corn stalks

It is very difficult to directly spin the lignocellulose without *** liquids(ILs)are promising solvent to dissolve lignocellulose to prepare cellulose ***,the degree of cellulose polymerization(DP)is reduced when lignocellulose is dissolved in ILs,and the lignin removal rate is *** elongation at break and tensile strength of the fibers obtained by spinning the lignocellulose dissolved in ILs are *** this paper,preparing cellulose fiber directly from lignocellulose based on dissolving corn stalk via[C4mim]Cl-L-arginine binary system is *** shows that the removal rate of lignin can reach 92.35%and the purity of cellulose can reach 85.32%after corn stalk was dissolved at 150℃C for 11.5 h when the mass fraction of arginine is 2.5%.The elongation at break of fiber reached 10.12%and the tensile strength reached 420 *** is mainly due to the fact that L-arginine not only inhibits the degradation of cellulose but also promotes the *** any pulping or pretreatment,preparing cellulose fibers via direct dissolution and extrusion may provide a simple and effective way to prepare many novel cellulose materials.

Modification to solution-diffusion model for performance prediction of nanofiltration of long-alkyl-chain ionic liquids aqueous solutions based on ion cluster

Mathematical modeling for nanofiltration of ionic liquids(ILs) solutions could assist to understand transfer mechanism and predict experimental values. In this work, modeling by solution-diffusion model for nanofiltration of long-alkyl-chain ILs aqueous solutions was proposed. Molecular simulations were performed to validate the existence of ion cluster in long-alkyl-chain ILs aqueous solution. Based on the results of simulations, parameters used in the solution-diffusion model were modified, such as concentration of ILs and diameter of ion *** modeling process was developed for three long-alkyl-chain ILs aqueous solutions with different concentrations(1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride: [C6 mim]Cl, [C8 mim]Cl, [C10 mim]Cl). The calculated values obtained from modified solution-diffusion model could well match the experimental values.

A new notion of phase of multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems was recently defined and studied, leading to new understandings in various fronts including a formulation of small phase theorem, a performance criterion named H∞ phase sector, and a sectored real lemma, etc. In this paper, we define a new notion of H2T-dissipativity and show the connection between the phase of a multivariable linear time-invariant (LTI) system and the H2T-dissipativity. The H2T-dissipativity, roughly speaking, is dissipativity restricted to the time-domain H2 space which consists of L2 signals with only positive frequency components. In addition, by exploiting the newly defined H2T- dissipativity, we also study the phase of a feedback system and provide a physical interpretation of the sectored real lemma. © 2023 IEEE.

Car-following is the most common driving scenario where a following vehicle follows a lead vehicle in the same lane. One crucial factor of car-following behavior is driving style which affects speed and gap selection, acceleration pattern, and fuel consumption. However, existing car-following research used limited categories of driving style through pre-defined patterns and failed to encode driving style into data-driven car-following models. To address these limitations, we propose the Aggressiveness Informed Car-Following (AICF) modeling approach, which embeds driving style as a dynamic input feature in data-driven car-following models. In detail, We design driving aggressiveness tokens using four physical quantities (jerk, acceleration, relative speed, and relative spacing) to capture the heterogeneity of driving aggressiveness. These tokens were then embedded into a physics-informed Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) based car-following model for trajectory prediction. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we conducted extensive experiments based on 12,540 car-following events extracted from the HighD dataset and 24,093 events from the Lyft dataset. Compared to models devoid of considerations for driving aggressiveness levels, AICF exhibits superior efficacy in mitigating the Mean Square Error (MSE) of spacing and collision rate. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to directly incorporate real-time driving aggressiveness tokens as input features into data-driven car-following models, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of aggressiveness in car-following behavior. Homogeneous noble metal catalysts used in alkene hydrosilylation reactions to manufacture organosilicon compounds commercially often suffer from difficulties in catalyst recovering and recycling,undesired disproportionation reactions,and energyintensive purification of ***,we report a heterogeneous 0.5Ruδ+/ZrO_(2) catalyst with partially charged single-atom Ru(0.5 wt.%Ru)supported on commercial ZrO_(2) nanocrystals synthesized by the simple impregnation method followed by H2 *** used in the ethylene hydrosilylation with triethoxysilane to produce the desired ethyltriethoxysilane,0.5Ruδ+/ZrO_(2) showed excellent catalytic performance with the maximum Ru atom utilization and good recyclability,even superior to homogeneous catalyst(RuCl3·H2O).Structural characterizations and density functional theory calculations reveal the atomic dispersion of the active Ru species and their unique electronic properties distinct from the homogeneous *** reaction route over this catalyst is supposed to follow the typical Chalk-Harrod *** highly efficient and supported singleatom Ru catalyst has the potential to replace the current homogeneous catalyst for a greener hydrosilylation industry.

A policy gradient algorithm integrating long and short-term rewards for soft continuum arm control

The soft continuum arm has extensive application in industrial production and human life due to its superior safety and flexibility. Reinforcement learning is a powerful technique for solving soft arm continuous control problems, which can learn an effective control policy with an unknown system model. However, it is often affected by the high sample complexity and requires huge amounts of data to train, which limits its effectiveness in soft arm control. An improved policy gradient method, policy gradient integrating long and short-term rewards denoted as PGLS, is proposed in this paper to overcome this issue. The shortterm rewards provide more dynamic-aware exploration directions for policy learning and improve the exploration efficiency of the algorithm. PGLS can be integrated into current policy gradient algorithms, such as deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG). The overall control framework is realized and demonstrated in a dynamics simulation environment. Simulation results show that this approach can effectively control the soft arm to reach and track the targets. Compared with DDPG and other model-free reinforcement learning algorithms, the proposed PGLS algorithm has a great improvement in convergence speed and performance. In addition, a fluid-driven soft manipulator is designed and fabricated in this paper, which can verify the proposed PGLS algorithm in real experiments in the future.

Improved thermal conductivity of styrene acrylic resin with carbon nanotubes, graphene and boron nitride hybrid fillers

In the process of printing and copying,the volatilization of toner produces tiny particles and harmful gases that are detrimental to the human ***-temperature printing and copying can reduce harmful gas *** acrylic resin is the main component of toner and the thermal conductivity of toner can be improved by increasing the thermal conductivity of styrene acrylic *** this paper,hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN),carboxyl modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs-COOH)and graphene hybrid fillers were added into styrene acrylic resin to improve the thermal conductivity of resin composite by forming a connected thermal conductivity network in *** experimental result shows that the thermal conductivity of the h-BN/styrene acrylic resin composite increases with the increase in h-BN filler content(0-20wt%).When 20.0 wt%h-BN is added into styrene acrylic resin,the thermal conductivity is increased by 83.63%.Hybrid fillers(MWCNTs-COOH/graphene and 3.0 wt%h-BN)were added in styrene acrylic resin and the thermal conductivity of the composite is almost the same or higher than that of 20.0 wt%h-BN/styrene acrylic resin *** thermal conductivity of styrene acrylic resin composites improved by 69.57%and 87.14%via adding 1.5wt%CNTs-3 wt%h-BN and 1.0wt%graphene-3 wt%***-COOH or graphene can bridge isolated h-BN aggregates to form a thermally conductive network in styrene acrylic resin,while the addition of graphene improves the thermal conductivity of resin composite higher than that of MWCNTs-COOH.
