To leverage the explosively growing computing capacity of satellites, this paper envisions a novel computing paradigm – on-satellite data analysis. By directly dispatching data analysis logic to satellites and executing on them, this paradigm enables bandwidth-friendly and privacy-preserving ground-space computing, avoiding the need to download large amounts of (sensitive) data to ground stations. However, the intermittent connectivity between satellites and ground stations and hard-to-predict hardware status pose challenges to data analysis processes, especially the long tail phenomenon caused by struggling satellites. To facilitate this paradigm, we proposed a reinforcement learning-based scheduling algorithm that does not rely on real-time hardware status, and redundantly schedules tasks to more satellites based on real-time feedback. What’s more, the algorithm dynamically adjusts the time for redundant scheduling, rather than setting a specific landmark. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms baselines in optimizing task execution time and satellite resource consumption under various task arriving intervals. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, as a crucial part of 6G key technology, can provide high network coverage for mobile communications. Due to the rotation and limited resource of satellites, it still challenging to improve QoE with satellite network. To address the above issue, this paper takes advantage of the computation resources provided by terrestrial users, satellites and cloud to achieve better Quality of Experience (QoE). Firstly, we propose a novel edge computing architecture based on satellite-terrestrial integration. Secondly, we formulate the task offloading and resource allocation problem under this architecture as an optimization problem of maximizing the QoE-aware utility. Since the problem is a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem, we proposes a Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG)-based Optimization Algorithm for Task Offloading and Resource Allocation (DATR). The DATR algorithm decomposes resource allocation from offloading decision to reduced complexity. The Lagrangian multiplier method is used to achieve the optimal allocation of edge node resources;The offloading decision problem is solved by the DDPG algorithm. Simulation results show that our algorithm outperforms baselines in terms of QoE indicators. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

An orbit code is a special constant dimension subspace code,which is an orbit of a subgroup of a general linear group acting on the set of all subspaces in the given ambient *** paper presents some methods of constructing new orbit codes from known orbit ***,we introduce the sum operation,intersection operation and union operation of subspace codes,and then we give some methods to obtain new orbit codes from known orbit codes by fully applying the sub-orbits of permutation groups and the direct product operation of the ***,as a special application,partial spread codes are researched and a condition of orbit codes with constant distance is given.

Mobile edge computing is regarded as a promising computing paradigm thanks to its low latency. A problem about jointly managing computation offloading and resource allocation is considered in this paper. We model the interaction between the offloading decision maker and the resource allocation maker in mobile edge as a Stackelberg game, in which the offloading decision maker is a leader deciding to offload computing tasks to minimize the system cost for the mobile devices, and the resource allocation maker is a follower allocating wireless and computing resources to the mobile devices to minimize the resource allocation cost. We prove the existence of Stackelberg equilibria and the problem is also proved to be convex, which we use the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions to solve this problem. An optimal algorithm to compute Stackelberg equilibria efficiently is designed by exploiting the linear property of constraints instead of directly solving with the KKT conditions, which incurs exponential complexity. Our simulation results show that this algorithm can minimize the system cost and the resource allocation cost effectively through jointly managing computation offloading and mobile edge resources.

Software testing can detect most faults, but it can not find the dynamic fault with space and time, especially the dead halt fault. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a method of fault location based on software monitoring. First, a method of generating the extended control flow graph is studied, and then a method of generating running record and the process of locating faults is researched. Finally, an example is taken to test validity of this method. © 2013 IEEE.

A novel authentication protocol suitable to EPC class 1 generation 2 RFID system

RFID, capable of non-contact automatic identification using the small, low-cost RFID tags, is taking the place of barcodes to become electronic tags of the new generation. EPCglobal Class-1 Generation-2 specification (Gen2 in brief) has been approved as ISO18000-6C for global use, but the identity of tag (TID) is delivered in plaintext which makes insecurity. Several solutions have been proposed based on Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC). Due to the bad properties of the CRC function used in the protocol;the claimed security objectives are not met. In this paper, we propose a novel authentication protocol based on Gen2 for low-cost RFID tags which use the Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG in brief) function instead of the CRC function. The advantages of the novel authentication is that the proposed protocol could withstand de-synchronization attack, disclosure attack and cloning attack, furthermore, it also could provide anonymity and mutual authentication.

A Proximity-Aware BitTorrent System via Tracker-Side Biased Neighbor Selection

To address cross-ISP traffic problem caused by BitTorrent,we present our design and evaluation of a proximity-aware BitTorrent system. In our approach,clients generate global proximity-aware information by using landmark clustering;the tracker uses this proximity to maintain all peers in an orderly way and hands back a biased subset consisting of the peers who are physically closest to the requestor. Our approach requires no co-operation between P2P users and their Internet infra structures,such as ISPs or CDNs,no constantly path monitoring or probing their neighbors. The simulation results show that our approach can not only reduce unnecessary cross-ISP traffic,but also allow downloadsing fast.

IPv4 and IPv6 will coexist for many years during the transition period from the traditional IPv4-based Internet to an IPv6-based ***,a novel IPv4/IPv6 transition mechanism based on Distributed Hash Table(DHT) is presented in this *** can fully support IPv4 and IPv6 *** employs a DHT overlay to maintain the routing information between IPv4 and *** decouples path selection from packet *** DHTLayer,the Looking-Up Route Path is responsible for selecting paths,and then the Delivering Process takes charge of delivering IP packets along the path selected *** results show that it is very effective and efficient.

This paper presents an analysis of 3GPP (3rd generation partnership project) security protocols and related technical specifications to further development of the 3G (3rd-generation) security protocol standards. A mathematical model of the authentication traffic throughput was developed based on the theory of independent and identically distributed probabilities. The research identifies some security vulnerabilities in these protocols, such as the unidirectional process of entity authentication and the unbalanced distribution of authentication traffic, as well as the system complexity. Future development of the 3G security authentication mechanism can be based on IBC (identity-based cryptography) theory.
