Semantic communication systems utilize neural network models to extract and restore semantic features. However, the extracted semantic vectors often lack comprehensibility for humans. In the context of video conference communication scenarios, we propose a decoupled semantic communication system that takes into account the invariance of human identity features and the variability of mouth shape and posture. The semantic communication system decouples semantic vectors into identity information, mouth shape information, and head pose information. Thus, we only require transmitting the identity feature information of one frame, along with the mouth shape and head pose feature information of each frame. The receiver retains the identity feature information and synthesizes it with the transmitted mouth shape and head pose information for each frame. The method significantly reduces the required transmission bandwidth. Our experiments demonstrate that our video transmission outperforms the baseline methods used for comparison in this paper, particularly at low signal-to-noise ratios (SNR). Furthermore, we separate the semantic vector into interpretable components, empowering users to modify identity features, mouth shapes, and poses, thereby facilitating video re-editing. Significantly, it enhances the flexibility and usability of video editing.

To improve the security and applicable capability of the group key management in 802.16e standard, the traditional group key management mechanism is discussed and the current security solutions for group key management in WiMax is analyzed. By using key tree and one-way function, an improved tree-shape group key management scheme is proposed, and the key updating process during node joining in or leaving Wimax network is also designed. Analysis result shows that, compared with the conventional method of logical key hierarchy (LKH), the proposed scheme has better performance in key storage, key updating and key calculation cost, which provides an effective solution for group key management in Wimax network and has better application value.

This paper investigates an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) enabled multiuser integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) system, which consists of one multi-antenna base station (BS), one IRS, multiple single-antenna communication users (CUs), and one target at the non-line-of-sight (NLoS) region of the BS. The IRS is deployed to not only assist the communication from the BS to the CUs, but also enable the BS’s NLoS target sensing based on the echo signals from the BS-IRS-target-IRS-BS link. We consider two types of targets, namely the extended and point targets, for which the BS aims to estimate the complete target response matrix and the target direction-of-arrival (DoA) with respect to the IRS, respectively. To provide full degrees of freedom for sensing, we consider that the BS sends dedicated sensing signals in addition to the communication signals. Accordingly, we model two types of CU receivers, namely Type-I and Type-II CU receivers, which do not have and have the capability of canceling the interference from the sensing signals, respectively. Under each setup, we jointly optimize the transmit beamforming at the BS and the reflective beamforming at the IRS to minimize the Cramér-Rao bound (CRB) for target estimation, subject to the minimum signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) constraints at the CUs and the maximum transmit power constraint at the BS. Drawing idea from the quantum entanglement swapping, a quantum (n-1, n)threshold scheme is proposed. By local unitary operation and entanglement swapping, the sender can transmit the piece of secret to the participant. To ensure the qubits be transmitted between two parties in a secure manner, the sender switches randomly the message mode to control mode asymmetrically. A security analyses on this scheme is then made. It shows that this scheme is secure. Compared with the quantum secret sharing scheme with Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state, the scheme achieves a high efficiency. Furthermore, since the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pair was used, the experimental realization of the protocol becomes feasible.

Aiming at improving the local feature extraction for point cloud learning, we introduce a point cloud segmentation network that enhances the PointNet++ framework with a local feature transformation module and a multi-scale feature fusion module. The local feature transformation module employs operations akin to convolution to restructure the point cloud's local feature dimensions, thus boosting the network's ability to extract detailed local features. Additionally, the multi-scale feature fusion module integrates semantic features of point clouds across various scales using a layered network design, aiming to heighten segmentation precision. Experimental results indicate that the proposed network can achieve a robust point cloud segmentation accuracy, reaching an accuracy rate of 85.8%.

Kalman Filter-based Sensing in Communication Systems with Clock Asynchronism

In this paper, we propose a novel Kalman Filter (KF)-based uplink (UL) joint communication and sensing (JCAS) scheme, which can significantly reduce the range and location estimation errors due to the clock asynchronism between the base station (BS) and user equipment (UE). Clock asynchronism causes time-varying time offset (TO) and carrier frequency offset (CFO), leading to major challenges in uplink sensing. Unlike existing technologies, our scheme does not require knowing the location of the UE in advance, and retains the linearity of the sensing parameter estimation problem. We first estimate the angle-of-arrivals (AoAs) of multipaths and use them to spatially filter the CSI. Then, we propose a KF-based CSI enhancer that exploits the estimation of Doppler with CFO as the prior information to significantly suppress the time-varying noise-like TO terms in spatially filtered CSIs. Subsequently, we can estimate the accurate ranges of UE and the scatterers based on the KF-enhanced CSI. Finally, we identify the UE's AoA and range estimation and locate UE, then locate the dumb scatterers using the bi-static system. Simulation results validate the proposed scheme. Relying on the power data accumulated by enterprises for a long time, the power data service serves the internal operation of the company and the external service of the government decision-making, etc. And it also plays an important role in the national economic development and the construction of a new power system. Power data service cost measurement can provide decision-making reference for enterprises to study and judge the development trend of power data service. However, the method of measuring the cost of power data service is still blank. Therefore, this paper puts forward the power data service cost measurement mechanism based on the whole life cycle. First, power data services are classified according to their characteristics. Then, the life cycle of power data service is proposed, and the cost composition of power data service is analyzed. Finally, according to the characteristics of power data service, three kinds of power data service cost measurement models are constructed.

In a wireless sensor network with mobile sinks, the maintenance of efficient data delivery structure often brings a large amount of control overhead, which may offset the benefit of introducing mobile sinks. In this paper, we propose a multi-stage data routing protocol (called MLRP) to address this problem. To reduce the protocol overhead, MLRP integrates layered Voronoi scoping and dynamic anchor selection. Such design is expected to greatly reduce the diffusion scope of sink movement updates and thus reduce the frequency at which the data delivery structure is refreshed. Simulation results show that MLRP can effectively reduce the protocol overhead while ensuring high packet delivery ratio as compared with existing work.

Wireless blockchain network is proposed to enable a decentralized and safe wireless networks for various blockchain applications. To achieve blockchain consensus in wireless network, one of the important steps is to broadcast new block using wireless channel. Under wireless network protocols, the block transmitting will be affected significantly. In this work, we focus on the consensus process in blockchain-based wireless local area network (B-WLAN) by investigating the impact of the media access control (MAC) protocol, CSMA/CA. With the randomness of the backoff counter in CSMA/CA, it is possible for latter blocks to catch up or outpace the earlier one, which complicates blockchain forking problem. In view of this, we propose mining strategies to pause mining for reducing the forking probability, and a discard strategy to remove the forking blocks that already exist in CSMA/CA backoff procedure. Based on the proposed strategies, we design Block Access Control (BAC) approaches to effectively schedule block mining and transmitting for improving the performance of B-WLAN. Then, Markov chain models are presented to conduct performance analysis in B-WLAN. The results show that BAC approaches can help the network to achieve a high transaction throughput while improving block utilization and saving computational power. Meanwhile, the trade-off between transaction throughput and block utilization is demonstrated, which can act as a guidance for practical deployment of blockchain. Copyright © 2021, The Authors.
