Clock distribution system for large high altitude air shower observatory

In this paper,we report a clock distribution system for Water Cherenkov Detector Arrays(WCDAs) in Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory(LHAASO) *** designed electronics system is of high performance in implementing the clock distribution among detectors of a large scale of *** on Serializer/Deserializer(SerDes) and fiber transmission,the clock distribution system is the modules of central back end to distributed front *** clock distribution system has been evaluated with a two modules *** all the four SerDes candidates for clock transmission with jitters below 17 ps,the DS92LV16 has a fixed phase relationship between transmission clock and recovered clock,hence its use in LHAASO WCDAs.

Study of ϕ(2170) at BESIII

For e⁺e⁻ collision between 2 and 3 GeV, excited states of ρ, ω and ϕ could be produced directly, some of them are not fully studied yet, especially several resonances around 2 GeV like ρ(2000), ρ(2150) and ϕ(2170). Theorists explain ϕ(2170) as a traditional ss¯ state, ss¯g hybrid, tetraquark state, ΛΛ¯ bound state, and ϕKK resonance state, and predict very diferent decay width with diferent nature of ϕ(2170). In review of experimental side, the number of decay modes of ϕ(2170) are limited, and there is inconsistencies on mass and width of ϕ(2170). With energy scan data collected by BESIII detector between 2.0 and 3.08 GeV, we performed PWA of e⁺e⁻→K⁺K⁻π⁰π⁰, and extracted lineshape of K^⁎(892)K¯^⁎(892), KK₁(1460), KK₁(1270) and KK₁(1400), and compared BESIII results that of theory prediction [1]. We will also report results on ϕ(2170)→ϕη^′ and ϕη, compare their ratio with that of hybrid prediction on ϕ(2170). We also present results on e⁺e⁻→K⁺K⁻ [2], ϕK⁺K⁻ [3] and ωη. Lineshape of e⁺e⁻→η^′π⁺π⁻ is used to study ρ(2000) and ρ(2150). © 2022

Research on the Real-Time Phase Jump Process Method for Plasma Electron Density Measurement in HL-2A Tokamak

In the real-time plasma electron density measurement using far infrared （FIR） laser interferometry, the plasma electron density can be calculated by measuring the real time phase difference between the reference signal and the probe signal. A novel Real-time Phase Jump Process （RPJP） method is applied to the HL-2A tokamak. With this method, the phase difference 1 precision is up to 1/3600 fringe （1 fringe is equal to a phase shift of 2π）, and the dynamic measure- ment range is extensible 65536 fringes. The time resolution of the phase difference is 80 ns, while the feedback delay is 180 its.

We carry out an imaging survey of six globular clusters (GCs) with a limit magnitude to 22 mag at the 5σ level, down to the main sequence stars of the respective cluster, as one of the pilot observing program of the Wide Field Survey Telescope (WFST). This paper present the early results of this survey, where we investigate the tidal characters at the periphery of the clusters NGC 4147, NGC 5024, NGC 5053, NGC 5272, NGC 5904 and NGC 6341. We present the estimated number density of cluster candidates and their spatial distribution. We confirm the presence of tidal arms in NGC 4147 and NGC 5904 and identify several intriguing potential tidal structures in NGC 4147, NGC 5024, NGC 5272, corroborated the elliptical morphology of the periphery of NGC 6341. Our findings underscore the WFST’s capability for probing faint structural features in GCs, paving the way for future in-depth studies, especially for the search of the large scale tidal streams associated with the clusters with the future wide field survey. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

Study of 2D interpolating readout for a micro-pattern gaseous detector

The two-dimensional interpolating readout, a new readout concept based on resistive anode structure, was studied for the micro-pattern gaseous detector. Within its high spatial resolution, the interpolating resistive readout structure leads to an enormous reduction of electronic channels compared with pure pixel devices, and also makes the detector more reliable and robust, which is attributed to its resistive anode relieving discharge. A GEM （gaseous electron multiplier） detector with 2D interpolating resistive readout structure was set up and the performance of the detector was studied with ^55Fe 5.9 keV X-ray. The detector worked stably at the gain up to 3.5 × 104 without any discharge. An energy resolution of about 19%, and a spatial resolution of about 219 μm （FWHM） were reached, and good imaging performance was also obtained.

A beam position measurement system of fully digital signal processing at SSRF

This fully digital beam position measurement instrument is designed for beam position monitoring and machine research in Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The signals received from four position-sensitive detectors are narrow pulses with a repetition rate up to 499.654 MHz and a pulse width of around 100 ps, and their dynamic range could vary over more than 40 dB in machine research. By the employment of the under-sampling technique based on high-speed high-resolution A/D conversion, all the processing procedure is performed fully by the digital signal processing algorithms integrated in one single Field Programmable Gate Array. This system functions well in the laboratory and commissioning tests, demonstrating a position resolution (at the turn by turn rate of 694 kHz) better than 7 μm over the input amplitude range of -40 dBm to 10 dBm which is well beyond the requirement.

Effect of non-uniform efficiency on higher-order cumulants in heavy-ion collisions

We perform a systematic study on the effect of non-uniform track efficiency correction in higher-order cumulant analysis in heavy-ion *** analytical derivation,we find that the true values of cumulants can be successfully reproduced by the efficiency correction with an average of the realistic detector efficiency for particles with the same charges within each single phase *** theoretical conclusions are supported by a toy model simulation by tuning the non-uniformity of the efficiency employed in the track-by-track efficiency correction *** valid averaged efficiency is found to suppress the statistical uncertainties of the reproduced cumulants ***,usage of the averaged efficiency requires a careful study of phase space *** study is important for carrying out precision measurements of higher-order cumulants in heavy-ion collision experiments at present and in future.

A Simulation Study on the Flash X-Ray Spectra Spatial Distribution

Accurate measurement of flash X-ray energy spectra plays an important role in highenergy flash radiography. In this paper, by virtue of Geant4 toolkit, we simulated the generation and transport of X-ray photons resulting from the interaction of a high-energy electron beam with a solid thin target. We obtained the flash X-ray energy spectral distribution in the plane perpendicular to the electron beam incident direction. Our results indicate that the flash X- ray spectrum is almost uniform in the azimuthal direction but is quite different in the radius direction. Specifically, as the radius increases, the incident X-ray dose decreases significantly. Our work paves a theoretical basis for selecting appropriate structures and layout of the spectrometer and facilitates the measurements of flash X-ray energy spectra.

A high resolution time measurement system with high data transfer rate was designed for the COLTRIMS (Cold Target Recoil-Ion Momentum Spectroscopy) system in Institute of Modern Physics,Chinese Academy of *** is used to measure the Time of Flight(TOF) with a high resolution for all 20 *** on the PCI Extensions for Instrumentation(PXI) standard,the readout electronics system consists of one Clock-Trigger fan-out module and four TOF *** results show that the system meets the demands of COLTRIMS,with a time resolution of better than 25 ps and a data transfer rate over 20 MB/s.

Dedicated 4πβ(LS)-γ(HPGe) digital coincidence system based on synchronous high-speed multichannel data acquisition

A dedicated 4πβ（LS）-γ（HPGe） digital coincidence system with five acquisition channels has been developed. Three ADC acquisition channels with an acquisition resolution of 8 bits and acquisition rate of 1 GSPS are utilized to collect the signals from three PMTs which are used to detect β decay, and two acquisition channels with an acquisition resolution of 16 bits and acquisition rate of 50 MSPS are utilized to collect the signals from high-purity germanium（HPGe）, which is used to detect γ decay. In order to increase the accuracy of the coincidence system, all five acquisition channels are synchronous within 500 ps. The data collected by the five acquisition channels will be transmitted to the host PC through a PCI bus and saved as a file. Off-line software is utilized for the 4πβ（LS）-γ（HPGe） coincidence and data analysis as needed in practical applications. Tests of the system show that system can record pulse signals from 4πβ（LS）-γ（HPGe） synchronously for further coincidence calculation and the highest coincidence rate of the system is 20 K/s, which is sufficient for most applications. Compared with traditional coincidence modules like MAC3, the digital coincidence system has a higher flexibility of coincidence algorithm. In addition, due to the use of ADC, the structure of the coincidence system is simplified. This paper introduces the design of the hardware, the synchronization method and the test results of this system.
