A high resolution time measurement system with high data transfer rate was designed for the COLTRIMS (Cold Target Recoil-Ion Momentum Spectroscopy) system in Institute of Modern Physics,Chinese Academy of *** is used to measure the Time of Flight(TOF) with a high resolution for all 20 *** on the PCI Extensions for Instrumentation(PXI) standard,the readout electronics system consists of one Clock-Trigger fan-out module and four TOF *** results show that the system meets the demands of COLTRIMS,with a time resolution of better than 25 ps and a data transfer rate over 20 MB/s.

A dedicated 4πβ(LS)-γ(HPGe) digital coincidence system with five acquisition channels has been developed. Three ADC acquisition channels with an acquisition resolution of 8 bits and acquisition rate of 1 GSPS are utilized to collect the signals from three PMTs which are used to detect β decay, and two acquisition channels with an acquisition resolution of 16 bits and acquisition rate of 50 MSPS are utilized to collect the signals from high-purity germanium(HPGe), which is used to detect γ decay. In order to increase the accuracy of the coincidence system, all five acquisition channels are synchronous within 500 ps. The data collected by the five acquisition channels will be transmitted to the host PC through a PCI bus and saved as a file. Off-line software is utilized for the 4πβ(LS)-γ(HPGe) coincidence and data analysis as needed in practical applications. Tests of the system show that system can record pulse signals from 4πβ(LS)-γ(HPGe) synchronously for further coincidence calculation and the highest coincidence rate of the system is 20 K/s, which is sufficient for most applications. Compared with traditional coincidence modules like MAC3, the digital coincidence system has a higher flexibility of coincidence algorithm. In addition, due to the use of ADC, the structure of the coincidence system is simplified. This paper introduces the design of the hardware, the synchronization method and the test results of this system.

Time interleaved analog-to-digital conversion (TIADC) based on parallelism is an effective way to meet the requirement of the ultra-fast waveform digitizer beyond Gsps. Different methods to correct the mismatch errors among different analog-to-digital conversion channels have been developed previously. To overcome the speed limi- tation in hardware design and to implement the mismatch correction algorithm in real time, this paper proposes a fully parallel correction algorithm. A 12-bit l-Gsps waveform digitizer with ENOB around 10.5 bit from 5 MHz to 200 MHz is implemented based on the real-time correction algorithm.

The mid-rapidity transverse momentum spectra of charmed mesons in Pb–Pb and pp(p)collisions are analyzed using the Tsallis–Pareto distribution derived from non-extensive *** provide uniform descriptions of both small and large systems over a wide range of collision energies and hadron transverse *** establishing the relationship between the event multiplicity and Tsallis parameters,we observe that there is a signifi-cant linear relationship between the thermal temperature and Tsallis q parameter in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV and 5.02 ***,the slope of the T–(q-1)parameter plot is positively correlated with the hadron *** addition,charmed mesons have a higher thermal temperature than light hadrons at the same q-1,indicat-ing that the charm flavor requires a higher temperature to reach the same degree of non-extensivity as light flavors in heavy-ion *** same fit is applied to the trans-verse momentum spectra of charmed mesons in pp(p)collisions over a large energy range using the Tsallis–Pareto *** is found that the thermal temperature increases with system energy,whereas the q parameter becomes saturated at the pp(p)limit,q-1=0.142±*** addition,the results of most peripheral Pb–Pb collisions are found to approach the pp(p)limit,which suggests that more peripheral heavy-ion collisions are less affected by the medium and more similar to pp(p)collisions.

Four FPGA-based α/γ pulse shape discrimination algorithms for Ba F2 detector are investigated and compared in this paper. A 2-GSPS fast waveform sampling board based on DRS4 chip is employed to sample the pulses. The test results with a22 Na γ-source and the natural radioactivity of Ba F2 show good discrimination performance of the algorithms, with false rates around 1%. Small logical resource occupancy and short dead time are achieved. About 4400 slices are used in FPGA for pulse sampling and real-time discrimination altogether.

A readout system for ground-based tests of the bismuth germanium oxide(BGO) calorimeter of the Dark Matter particle Explorer satellite is described in this *** system mainly consists of a data acquisition board with a field-programmable gate array to implement the control logic, and a graphical user interface software based on LabWindows/CVI. The system has been successfully applied in a series of ground-based environmental experiments and almost all the performance tests throughout the entire manufacturing processes. These contribute significantly to the development of the BGO calorimeter before being submitted for satellite-level integration.

Liquid scintillator(LS) has been widely used in past and running neutrino experiments, and is expected also to be used in future experiments. Requirements on LS radio-purity have become higher and higher. Water extraction is a powerful method to remove soluble radioactive nuclei, and a mini-extraction station has been constructed. To evaluate the extraction efficiency and optimize the operation parameters, a setup to load radioactivity to LS and a laboratory scale setup to measure radioactivity using the ^212Bi-^212Po-^208Pb cascade decay have been developed. Experience from this laboratory study will be useful for the design of large scale water extraction plants and the optimization of working conditions in the future.

The concentration preprocessing and fan-out(CPPF) system is one of the electronic subsystems of the upgraded Compact Muon Solenoid(CMS) Level-1 trigger system. It includes, in hardware, eight specially designed CPPF cards, one CMS card called AMC13, one commercial Micro-TCA Carrier HUB(MCH) card, and a MicroTCA shelf. Powerful online software is needed for the system, including providing reliable configuration and monitoring for the hardware, and a graphical interface for executing all actions and publishing monitoring ***, to control and monitor the large amount of homogeneous hardware, the SoftWare Automating conTrol of Common Hardware(SWATCH) concept was proposed and developed. The SWATCH provides a generic structure and is flexible for customization. The structure includes a hardware access library based on the IPbus protocol, which assumes a virtual 32-bit address/32-bit data bus and builds a simple hardware access layer. Furthermore, the structure provides a graphical user interface, which is based on modern web technology and is accessible by web page. The CPPF controlling and monitoring online software was also customized from a common SWATCH cell, and provides afinite state machine(FSM) for configuring the entire CPPF hardware, and five monitoring objects for periodically collecting monitoring data from five main functional modules in the CPPF hardware. This paper introduces the details of the CPPF SWATCH cell development.
