In the aqueous system of initial pH value of 7.0 through orthogonal test and individual factor test, the optimal operation condition of Fe(II)/S2O82-- S2O32- degrading diuron was determined to be Na2S2O8 concentration 2.0 mmol/L, Fe(II) concentration 1.0 mmol/L, Na2S2O3 concentration 0.5 mmol/L under the condition of reaction time 120 min, 0.1 mmol/L diuron degradation rate reached 91.3%. The sulfate free racial and hydroxyl free radical produced in system were determined by molecular probes (ethanol and tert-butanol) methods, and the reaction mechanism of Fe(II)/S2O82-- S2O32- system produced sulfate free radical was discussed.

Employing S-15 - bio-toilet as the testing device and pulverized bean stalk particles as the conditioner, an experimental study is made on the aerobic reduction and changes of nutrient content of human feces. The index changes of PH value, organic matter, total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP) and total potassium (TK) etc. are measured. The results show that using bean stalks as the bio-toilet conditioner has a good treatment effect. The average decomposition rate of the dry weight of the mixture per week is 37.49% ,and the cumulative decomposition rate reaches 95.23%. In the resulting products, the PH value is 7.2, the total amount of organic matter is 71.02% and the content of TN, TP and TK is 3.72%, 1.53% and 4.71%, respectively. The resulting products can be recycled as an efficient organic fertilizer.

The effects of γ-irradiation pretreatment on anaerobic digestibility of sewage sludge was investigated in this *** like solid components,soluble components,and biogas production of anaerobic digestion experiment for sewage sludge were *** values of these parameters were compared before and after γ-irradiation *** solid(TS),volatile solid(VS),suspended solid(SS),volatile suspended solid(VSS),and average floc size of samples decreased after cirradiation ***,floc size distribution of sewage sludge shifted from 80–100 mm to 0–40 mm after γ-irradiation treatment at the doses from 0 to 30 kGy,which indicated the disintegration of sewage ***,microbe cells of sewage sludge were ruptured by γ-irradiation treatment,which resulted in the release of cytoplasm and increase of soluble chemical oxygen demand(SCOD).Both sludge disintegration and microbe cells rupture enhanced the subsequent anaerobic digestion process,which was demonstrated by the increase of accumulated biogas *** with digesters fed with none irradiated sludge,the accumulated biogas production increased 44,98,and 178 mL for digesters fed sludge irradiated at 2.48,6.51,and 11.24 kGy,*** results indicated that γ-irradiation pretreatment could effectively enhance anaerobic digestibility of sewage sludge,and correspondingly,could accelerate hydrolysis process,shorten sludge retention time of sludge anaerobic digestion process.

Simultaneous nitrification and denitrification (SND) and traditional nitrification and denitrification (TND) were studied in lab-scale and the full-scale submerged membrane bioreactor (MBR) tests for the bathing wastewater treatment under the same condition. As a result, the removal of the nitrogen was not only the contribution of the anoxic (AN) tank, but also the aeration (AO) tank because of its SND effect. From the two tests, it can be drawn that there would be two methods to remove the nitrogen. One was nitrification and denitrification in the AO tank and AN tank, which contributed mainly in nitrogen removal. The other was simultaneous nitrification and denitrification occurred in the AO tank, although its effect was not very significant. The contribution ratios of the two kind's nitrogen removal ways in treating the bathing wastewater were about 70% and 30%, respectively. At the same time, the main pollutions in bathing wastewater such as COD and LAS were also studied systemically in the two scale tests. As a result, there had a good removal (over 95%) to the pollutions, in which the microorganisms played a greater role than membrane.

The removal performances of ametryn in drinking water using UV-H2O2 combinated process was investigated in this paper. The results showed that ametryn cannot be effectively removed by UV radiation and H2O2 oxidation alone, while UV-H202 combination process could achieve quite good removal efficiency. As the initial concentration of ametryn about 0.901mg/L, its remova1 efficiency reached 97.68% under the condition that the intensity of UV radiation, the dosage of H2O2, reaction time, pH and residual concentration were 85.7μW/cm2, 5mg/L, 40minutes, 7.0 and 0.021mg/L, respectively. The kinetic effects of H2O2 dosage, pH values and ametryn initial concentration on the conversion of ametryn were examined respectively. Analysis of factors showed that UV radiation intensity, H2O2 dosage, pH values and ametryn initial concentrations have important effect on the degradation of ametryn.

Hydrogen production from organic wastewater by photo‐bacteria has been attracted more attention, not only because hydrogen is a clean energy, but also because it can be a process for organic wastewater pre‐treatment. However NH4+, which normally is the integrant in organic wastewater, is the inhibitor to hydrogen production with photo‐bacteria. In this study, the NH4+ effect on biohydrogen generation and nitrogenase activity of anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria‐Rhodobacter sphaeroides was studied. Biohydrogen generation with wild‐type R. sphaeroides was found to be more sensitive to NH4+ due to the obvious inhibition of NH4+ to its nitrogenase. For avoiding inhibition of NH4+ to biohydrogen generation of R. sphaeroides, a glutamine auxotrophic mutant R. sphaeroides AR‐3 was obtained by EMS treatment. The mutant could generate biohydrogen efficiently in the medium with higher NH4+ concentration. Under suitable conditions, AR‐3 produced biohydrogen from tofu wastewater with an average generation rate of 14.2 ml L−1h−1, it was increased by more than 100% compared with that from wild‐type R. sphaeroides.

Generally the toxicity of heavy metals results from the formation of bonds to thiol groups in proteins,which can directly cause deleterious effects on microbial growth and indirectly reduce microbial activity and functioning by modifying processes such as plant *** the assessment of the toxicity of heavy metal is important,At the moment,most toxicity bioassays are conducted on invertebrates,fish,plant and algae,however,these conventional analytical techniques are often expensive,require large sample volumes ,time-consuming and not suitable for on-site measurements[3]. For all of above disadvantages,the indicator systems,which are rapid,simple,sensitive and,at the same time,applicable to monitoring on-line are required to offer specific analytical information and evaluation of effects. Consequently,a range of acute toxicity bioassays have been developed to establish the toxicity levels of compounds for aquatic organisms. Biosensors have been considered as competitive tools for the detection of toxic compounds that can be used as early warning systems because of their specificity,fast response and low cost.
