Wireless Sensor Networks are formed by a mass of various sensors, they are adopted in lots of applications. Because of the existence of spatial correlation in WSNs, the information from some geographic independence sensors are more significant than that from high correlation ones. Thus, it is unnecessary to transmit information from every sensor to the sink node. This paper focus on the coverage area for data monitoring in WSNs. To construct the virtual backbone network, we propose an efficient connected dominating set construction method based on clique, by taking advantage of the high spatial correlation characteristics of clique construction. Furthermore, by minimizing the number of sensors to activate, we propose a Spatial Correlation based partial Coverage Scheduling Scheme (SCCS) to prolong the network lifetime. The corresponding experiment indicate the efficiency and the feasibility of the proposed SCCS scheme. Moreover, this algorithm is able to guarantee better performance by comparing to the existing schemes. © 2020, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we consider a scenario where an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) collects data from a set of nodes placed on a two-dimensional (2-D) plane. The UAV flies along a given line to collect data. To prevent transmission collisions, only one node is allowed to transmit data to the UAV at any time, and the number of nodes that can transmit data to the UAV cannot exceed a specified number to avoid frequent switches. The problem is to select a subset of nodes and schedule their transmission time to maximize the UAV's throughput. After formulating the problem, we find that it is difficult to solve due to mixture of real variables and integer variables. We then propose to decompose the problem into subproblems, and give a polynomial time algorithm to solve each subproblem to optimality. We then get an exact algorithm by solving all subproblems. Unfortunately, due to an exponential number of subproblems, the overall running time is exponential with respect to the input size. We then propose two polynomial-time suboptimal algorithms to solve the problem, both of which explore a polynomial number of subproblems. Simulations show that the suboptimal algorithms perform comparably with the exponential-time exact algorithm, while the running time is much smaller.

Background: Improving the accessibility of screening diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and differentiating isolated diabetic nephropathy from non-diabetic kidney disease (NDKD) are two major challenges in the field of diabetes care. We aimed to develop and validate an artificial intelligence (AI) deep learning system to detect DKD and isolated diabetic nephropathy from retinal fundus images. Methods: In this population-based study, we developed a retinal image-based AI-deep learning system, DeepDKD, pretrained using 734 084 retinal fundus images. First, for DKD detection, we used 486 312 retinal images from 121 578 participants in the Shanghai Integrated Diabetes Prevention and Care System for development and internal validation, and ten multi-ethnic datasets from China, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and the UK (65 406 participants) for external validation. Second, to differentiate isolated diabetic nephropathy from NDKD, we used 1068 retinal images from 267 participants for development and internal validation, and three multi-ethnic datasets from China, Malaysia, and the UK (244 participants) for external validation. Finally, we conducted two proof-of-concept studies: a prospective real-world study with 3 months' follow-up to evaluate the effectiveness of DeepDKD in screening DKD;and a longitudinal analysis of the effectiveness of DeepDKD in differentiating isolated diabetic nephropathy from NDKD on renal function changes with 4·6 years' follow-up. Findings: For detecting DKD, DeepDKD achieved an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0·842 (95% CI 0·838–0·846) on the internal validation dataset and AUCs of 0·791–0·826 across external validation datasets. For differentiating isolated diabetic nephropathy from NDKD, DeepDKD achieved an AUC of 0·906 (0·825–0·966) on the internal validation dataset and AUCs of 0·733–0·844 across external validation datasets. In the Internet of things (IoT) era, vehicles and other intelligent components in an intelligent transportation system (ITS) are connected, forming vehicular networks (VNs) that provide efficient and safe traffic and ubiquitous access to various applications. However, as the number of nodes in an ITS increases, it is challenging to satisfy a varied and large number of service requests with different quality of service (QoS) and security requirements in highly dynamic VNs. Intelligent nodes in VNs can compete or cooperate for limited network resources to achieve the objective for either an individual or a group. Game theory (GT), a theoretical framework designed for strategic interactions among rational decision makers sharing scarce resources, can be used to model and analyze individual or group behaviors of communicating entities in VNs. This paper primarily surveys the recent developments of GT in solving various challenges of VNs. This survey starts with an introduction to the background of VNs. A review of GT models studied in the VNs is then introduced, including the basic concepts, classifications, and applicable vehicular issues. After discussing the requirements of VNs and the motivation of using GT, a comprehensive literature review on GT applications in dealing with the challenges of current VNs is provided. Furthermore, recent contributions of GT to VNs that are integrated with diverse emerging 5G technologies are surveyed. Finally, the lessons learned are given, and several key research challenges and possible solutions of applying GT in VNs are outlined. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Proxy re-encryption plays an important role in cloud sharing. Ciphertext-policy attribute-based proxy re-encryption (CP-ABPRE) scheme supports access control and can convert the ciphertext under an access policy to a ciphertext under another access policy, which is flexible and efficient for cloud sharing. The existing CP-ABPRE schemes are constructed by bilinear pairing or multi-linear maps which are fragile when the post-quantum comes. In this paper, a unidirectional single-hop CP-ABPRE scheme with small size of public parameters was presented by using trapdoor sampling, and proved secure under learning with errors assumption which is widely believed secure in quantum computer attacks. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

By network security threat intelligence analysis based on a security knowledge graph(SKG), multi-source threat intelligence data can be analyzed in a fine-grained manner. This has received extensive attention. It is difficult for traditional named entity recognition methods to identify mixed security entities in Chinese and English in the field of network security, and there are difficulties in accurately identifying network security entities because of insufficient features extracted. In this paper, we propose a novel FT-CNN-BiLSTM-CRF security entity recognition method based on a neural network CNN-BiLSTM-CRF model combined with a feature template(FT). The feature template is used to extract local context features, and a neural network model is used to automatically extract character features and text global features. Experimental results showed that our method can achieve an F-score of 86% on a large-scale network security dataset and outperforms other methods.

To achieve the image registration/fusion and perfect the quality of the integration, with dual modality contrast agent (DMCA), a novel multi-scale representation registration method between ultrasound imaging (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is presented in the paper, and how DMCA influence on registration accuracy is chiefly discussed. Owing to US’s intense speckle noise, it is a tremendous challenge to register US with any other modality images. How to improve the algorithms for US processing has become the bottleneck, and in the short term it is difficult to have a breakthrough. In that case, DMCA is employed in both US and MRI to enhance the region of interest. Then, because multi-scale representation is a strategy that attempts to diminish or eliminate several possible local minima and lead to convex optimization problems to be solved quickly and more efficiently, a multi-scale representation Gaussian pyramid based affine registration (MRGP-AR) scheme is constructed to complete the US-MRI registration process. In view of the above-mentioned method, the comparison tests indicate that US-MRI registration/fusion may be a remarkable method for gaining high-quality registration image. The experiments also show that it is feasible that novel nano-materials combined with excellent algorithm are used to solve some hard tasks in medical image processing field. © 2020 Tech science Press. This study proposes different standalone models viz: Elman neural network (ENN), Boosted Tree algorithm (BTA), and f relevance vector machine (RVM) for modeling arsenic (As (mg/kg)) and zinc (Zn (mg/kg)) in marine sediments owing to anthropogenic activities. A heuristic algorithm based on the potential of RVM and a flower pollination algorithm (RVM-FPA) was developed to improve the prediction performance. Several evaluation indicators and graphical methods coupled with visualized cumulative probability function (CDF) were used to evaluate the accuracy of the models. Akaike (AIC) and Schwarz (SCI) information criteria based on Dickey-Fuller (ADF) and Philip Perron (PP) tests were introduced to check the reliability and stationarity of the data. The prediction performance in the verification phase indicated that RVM-M2 (PBAIS = -o.0465, MAE = 0.0335) and ENN-M2 (PBAIS = 0.0043, MAE = 0.0322) emerged as the best model for As (mg/kg) and Zn (mg/kg), respectively. In contrast with the standalone approaches, the simulated hybrid RVM-FPA proved merit and the most reliable, with a 5 % and 18 % predictive increase for As (mg/kg) and Zn (mg/kg), respectively. The study's findings validated the potential for estimating complex HMs through intelligent data-driven models and heuristic optimization. The study also generated valuable insights that can inform the decision-makers and stockholders for environmental management strategies. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Backgrounds Evidence regarding prepregnancy weight change (from age 18 to conception) and fetal outcomes remains limited in Asian populations. Objectives To explore associations of prepregnancy weight change with fetal growth and adverse birth outcomes, and joint effects between prepregnancy weight change and gestational weight gain (GWG) among Chinese women. Methods We included 6330 pregnant women from Tongji-Huaxi-Shuangliu Birth Cohort. Prepregnancy weight change was defined as the difference between the recalled weight at age 18 and recalled weight just before pregnancy. Ultrasound-assessed fetal growth parameters at three gestational intervals (≤24, 25–32, and 33–42 weeks) were standardized to Z scores. Adverse birth outcomes were obtained from medical records. Associations were assessed using linear mixed and logistic regression models. Results Compared to women with low prepregnancy weight gain (0.0-4.9 kg), those with high prepregnancy weight gain (≥ 10.0 kg) had significantly higher Z scores for all fetal growth parameters. Positive associations with femur length and estimated fetal weight were observed across all gestational periods, whereas head circumference, abdominal circumference, and biparietal diameter showed significant associations only after 25 weeks. Prepregnancy weight gain exhibited a dose-response association with higher macrosomia and large for gestational age (LGA) risks (all P < 0.001). Conversely, prepregnancy weight loss was linked to a higher small for gestational age (SGA) risk in female newborns. Furthermore, women with high prepregnancy weight gain and excessive GWG had the highest risks of macrosomia (odds ratio [OR]: 5.55; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 3.34, 9.22) and LGA (OR: 3.19; 95% CI: 2.37, 4.28). Conclusions Excessive prepregnancy weight gain was associated with accelerated fetal growth and increased macrosomia and LGA risks, whereas prepregnancy weight loss showed a sex-specific impact on SGA.
