High-definition (HD) map is crucial for autonomous driving systems. Most existing works design map elements detection heads based on the DETR decoder. However, the initial queries lack explicit incorporation of physical positional information, and vanilla self-attention entails high computational complexity. Therefore, we propose EAN-MapNet for Efficiently constructing HD map using Anchor Neighborhoods. Firstly, we design query units based on the anchor neighborhoods, allowing non-neighborhood central anchors to effectively assist in fitting the neighborhood central anchors to the target points representing map elements. Then, we propose grouped local self-attention (GL-SA) by leveraging the relative instance relationship among the queries. This facilitates direct feature interaction among queries of the same instances, while innovatively employing local queries as intermediaries for interaction among queries from different instances. Consequently, GL-SA significantly reduces the computational complexity of self-attention while ensuring ample feature interaction among queries. On the nuScenes dataset, EAN-MapNet achieves a state-of-the-art performance with 63.0 mAP after training for 24 epochs, surpassing MapTR by 12.7 mAP. Human factors play an important role in human- computer interaction systems such as nuclear power plants (NPPs). Especially for the human-computer interaction process in unknown scenarios, incorrect personnel actions will affect the operation of equipment and systems, and finally the achievement of safety goals of NPPs. This paper presents a design of an online operational task reliability analysis (OOTRA) system which provides early warnings to operations in a timely manner by monitoring the states of plant systems and equipment, and operator actions. For any wrong action of operators, the OOTRA system can online evaluate the impact of the wrong action on the operational task and the goals of NPPs.

Altermagnetism, as a newly identified form of unconventional antiferromagnetism, enables the removal of spin degeneracy in the absence of net magnetization that provides a platform for the low power consumption and ultra-fast device applications. However, the rare attention has been paid to the relationship between stacking, strain and altermagnet, multipiezo effect and topological state. Here, we propose a mechanism to realize the altermagnet, multipiezo effect, and topological state in two-dimensional materials by the stacking and strain engineering. Based on the analysis of symmetry, we find that the spin splitting feature related to the Ut, PTt, MzUt, or MzPTt symmetries in altermagnet multilayers. In addition, we find that the stacking engineering can effectively realize the transform from antiferromagnetism to altermagnetism and semiconductor to metal for the Jauns bilayer V2SeTeO. More interestingly, the strain not only induces an intriguing multipiezo effect, encompassing the piezovalley, piezomagnetism and piezoelectric, but also achieves the abundant topological phase. Our findings offer a generalized direction for manipulating the spin splitting, valley polarization, and topological states, promoting practical application of valleytronic and spintronic devices based on two-dimensional altermagnets. © 2025, CC BY.

This work presents an interval analysis (IA) based method for the tolerance analysis and robust design of shaped reflector antennas generating contour beams. First, the expression of the power pattern of the contour beam is properly defined in terms of the azimuth and elevation angles and the Cartesian IA (CIA) is then used to derive the lower and upper bounds of the corresponding interval function. The reliability of the proposed CIA tolerance method is analyzed through a set of representative numerical examples including random surface deformations of the reflector surface. Finally, the Particle Swarm Optimizer (PSO) is integrated with the CIA-based interval analysis method for the robust design of shaped reflector antennas. The robustness of the obtained solutions is validated against the results from analytic Monte Carlo simulations and the commercial solver GRASP. © 2002-2011 IEEE.

The mechanical tensile properties of T91 steel after being oxidized in liquid LBE saturated by oxygen at 350-500 °C for up to 1,000 h are studied. Duplex oxide scales are found on T91 steels after the LBE exposure, and the thickness evolution is revealed. Oxidized T91 steels with surface oxide scale yield enhanced toughness and ductility, which is mainly attributed to the inner oxide layer. We show that the enhancing effect relies on the presence of the oxide scale, not its thickness. The possible enhancing effect of the oxide scale on the toughness of T91 steel by impeding the dislocation from emitting out of the steel surfaces is discussed and qualitatively verified by micro-scale elastoplastic simulations based on a newly proposed discrete dislocation dynamics and peridynamics superposition scheme. © 2024, The Authors. Thermal-mechanical coupling behavior analysis of solid-state constrained component in advanced nuclear energy system

With the advantage of phase change heat transfer, heat pipes have the potential to replace flowing coolants for removing fission heat from nuclear reactors. However, the solid-state constrained heat transfer configuration poses mutual constraints between mechanical properties and heat transfer, and their long-term thermal-mechanical coupling behavior requires further investigation. Currently, research on long-term behavior is limited to either individual/local system components or a single physical field. In this paper, an analysis method for coupled thermal-mechanical behavior is proposed and verified, comprehensively considering thermal-mechanical properties, interactions between components, and the fission gas release. This method is employed to analyze the operating characteristics of a solid-state constrained component. The results indicate that prolonged operation leads to complete contact between structural components, generating high contact pressure that enhances heat transfer but increases creep. The release of gaseous fission products, accumulated over operating time, results in a synchronous increase in both gap and external contact pressures, reaching 5.2 MPa and 4.8 MPa, respectively. This process reduces the gas gap conductance, leading to elevated system peak temperatures and a reduction in temperature safety margins by 43 K. After heat pipe failure, continued operation significantly increases the local creep strain, up to 3.9 times that under normal conditions. The gap size and fuel gap pressure should be optimized to enhance gap heat transfer and reduce component creep. Excessive fission gas release should be avoided in fuel configuration. Reducing the system power following a single heat pipe failure can mitigate component creep and extend the operational lifespan.

Climate models are vital for understanding and projecting global climate change and its associated ***,these models suffer from biases that limit their accuracy in historical simulations and the trustworthiness of future *** these challenges requires addressing internal variability,hindering the direct alignment between model simulations and observations,and thwarting conventional supervised learning ***,we employ an unsupervised Cycle-consistent Generative Adversarial Network(CycleGAN),to correct daily Sea Surface Temperature(SST)simulations from the Community Earth system Model 2(CESM2).Our results reveal that the CycleGAN not only corrects climatological biases but also improves the simulation of major dynamic modes including the El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)and the Indian Ocean Dipole mode,as well as SST ***,it substantially corrects climatological SST biases,decreasing the globally averaged Root-Mean-Square Error(RMSE)by 58%.Intriguingly,the CycleGAN effectively addresses the well-known excessive westward bias in ENSO SST anomalies,a common issue in climate models that traditional methods,like quantile mapping,struggle to ***,it substantially improves the simulation of SST extremes,raising the pattern correlation coefficient(PCC)from 0.56 to 0.88 and lowering the RMSE from 0.5 to *** enhancement is attributed to better representations of interannual,intraseasonal,and synoptic scales *** study offers a novel approach to correct global SST simulations and underscores its effectiveness across different time scales and primary dynamical modes.

In this paper, hierarchical micro/nano structures composed of periodic microstructures, LIPSS, and nanoparticles were fabricated by femtosecond laser processing. A layer of hydrophobic species was formed on the micro/nano structures through perfluorosilane modification. The reflectivity and hydrophobicity’s influence mechanisms of structural height, duty cycle, and size are experimentally elucidated. The average reflectivity of the silicon surface in the visible light band is reduced to 3.0% under the optimal parameters, and the surface exhibits a large contact angle of 172.3 ± 0.8 ° and a low sliding angle of 4.2 ± 1.4 °. Finally, the durability of anti-reflection and superhydrophobicity is also confirmed. This study deepens the understanding of the principles of anti-reflection and superhydrophobicity and expands the design and preparation methods for self-cleaning and anti-reflective surfaces. © 2024, The Authors.
