Fault-induced gear meshing modulation sideband extraction and evaluation for fault diagnosis of planetary gearboxes

Gearboxes,known for their compact size and stable transmission capability,are widely used as power transmission structures in various types of mechanical equipment,such as wind turbines,helicopters,and special ***,due to harsh and non-stationary working conditions,gear surfaces often deteriorate,leading to faults such as wear,pitting,and ***,it is vital to monitor the working status of gearboxes and diagnose gear faults as early as *** faults can induce characteristic modulation effects near the gear meshing frequency(GMF),resulting in the appearance of faultinduced sidebands in a vibration *** of these sidebands allows for the diagnosis of gear faults in a ***,when faced with a planetary gearbox having a complex configuration,strong background noise and additional faultunrelated sidebands can interfere with fault-induced sidebands,making accurate diagnosis *** address these challenging issues,this paper proposes a novel fault-induced gear meshing modulation sideband extraction *** the process,the sidebands directly related to the gear fault near the GMF are first identified and then extracted by a variational harmonic mode decomposition(VHMD)***,a fault-related gear meshing modulation component(GMMC)can be accurately reconstructed by summing up the extracted fault-induced *** the GMMC,the gear fault severity can be assessed by evaluating its amplitude modulation(AM)*** superior performance of the proposed method is finally demonstrated by experimental data.

Research on the Dynamic Characteristics of High-Speed Rotors Supported by a Double Layer Squeeze Film Damper-Bearing Composite Structure

This paper develops a dynamic model for a damper-bearing-rotor system featuring a novel double layer squeeze film damper-bearing composite structure, addressing the limitations of conventional single layer dampers in providing sufficient vibration damping for high-speed advanced mechanical equipment, such as aircraft and rocket engines. A 12-degree-of-freedom Timoshenko beam element was employed to construct a finite element model of the rotor system subjected to unbalanced and nonlinear oil film force excitation. An approach for decreasing the iterative dimension of high-dimensional local nonlinear systems has been devised, which considerably improves the efficiency of transient solutions for dynamic equations. The transient excitation process of an unbalanced rotor with multilayer oil film bearings was analyzed, with the Reynolds equations for dampers and bearings solved using the finite element method. Results indicate that the double layer squeeze oil film damper-bearing composite structure exhibits high stability, excellent impact resistance, and significantly reduces rotor amplitude at high and critical speeds. Double layer squeeze film dampers provide a more obvious vibration suppression benefit and can reduce vibrations more effectively at high speeds than single layer squeeze film dampers. Within the range of 1‰ to 2‰ of the journal radius, increasing the radial clearance of the oil film bearings as well as double layer squeeze film dampers can further reduce the rotor vibration amplitude under high-speed conditions. Additionally, experimental equipment was used to verify all three of these phenomena, and the results of the experiments demonstrated a high degree of agreement with the results of the numerical simulation. © 2013 IEEE.

A Noise-Excitation Generative Adversarial Network for Actuator Fault Diagnosis of Multi-legged Robot

This research provides a novel approach for detecting multi-legged robot actuator *** most significant concept is to design the Fault Diagnosis Generative Adversarial Network(FD-GAN)to fully adapt to the fault diagnosis problem with insufficient *** found that it is difficult for methods based on classification and prediction to learn failure patterns without enough data.A straightforward solution is to use massive amounts of normal data to drive the diagnostic *** introduce frequency-domain information and fuse multi-sensor data to increase the features and expand the difference between normal data and fault data.A GAN-based framework is designed to calculate the probability that the enhanced data belongs to the normal *** uses a generator network as a feature extractor,and uses a discriminator network as a fault probability evaluator,which creates a new use of GAN in the field of fault *** the many learning strategies of GAN,we find that a key point that can distinguish the two types of data is to use the hidden layer noise with appropriate discrimination as the *** also design a fault location method based on binary search,which greatly improves the search efficiency and engineering value of the entire *** have conducted a lot of experiments to prove the diagnostic effectiveness of our architecture in various road conditions and working *** compared FD-GAN with popular diagnostic *** results show that our method has the highest accuracy and recall rate.

Multi-stage Coordinated Robust Optimization for Soft Open Point Allocation in Active Distribution Networks with PV

To optimize the placement of soft open points(SOPs)in active distribution networks(ADNs),many aspects should be considered,including the adjustment of transmission power,integration of distributed generations(DGs),coordination with conventional control methods,and maintenance of economic *** address this multi-objective planning problem,this study proposes a multi-stage coordinated robust optimization model for the SOP allocation in ADNs with photovoltaic(PV).First,two robust technical indices based on a robustness index are proposed to evaluate the operation conditions and robust optimality of the ***,the proposed coordinated allocation model aims to optimize the total cost,robust voltage offset index,robust utilization index,and voltage collapse proximity ***,the optimization methods of the multiand single-objective models are coordinated to solve the proposed multi-stage ***,the proposed model is implemented on an IEEE 33-node distribution system to verify its *** results show that the proposed index can better reveal voltage offset conditions as well as the SOP utilization,and the proposed model outperforms conventional ones in terms of robustness of placement plans and total cost.

Control of myoelectric prosthetic hand with a novel proximity-tactile sensor

Currently, prosthetic hands can only achieve several prespecified and discrete hand motion patterns from popular myoelectric control schemes using electromyography(EMG) signals. To achieve continuous and stable grasping within the discrete motion pattern, this paper proposes a control strategy using a customized, flexible capacitance-based proximity-tactile sensor. This sensor is integrated at the fingertip and measures the distance and force before and after contact with an object. During the pregrasping phase, each fingertip’s position is controlled based on the distance between the fingertip and the object to make all fingertips synchronously approach the object at the same distance. Once contact is established, the sensor turns to output the tactile information, by which the contact force of each fingertip is finely controlled. Finally, the method is introduced into the human-machine interaction control for a myoelectric prosthetic hand. The experimental results demonstrate that continuous and stable grasping could be achieved by the proposed control method within the subject’s discrete EMG motion mode. The subject also obtained tactile feedback through the transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation after contact.

Impacts of Land–Atmosphere Coupling on Summer Extreme Hot-Humid Compound Events over Southern Eurasia under Different Sea Surface Temperature Backgrounds

Land–atmosphere coupling and sea surface temperature(SST)anomalies both have essential impacts on weather and climate *** on the ERA5 reanalysis dataset and the CESM1.2.2 model,this study investigates the influence of land–atmosphere coupling on summer extreme hot-humid events(EHHE)over southern Eurasia under different SST *** results suggest that coupling causes near-surface air temperature increases that exceed 0.5℃.From 1961 to 2020,the frequency of EHHE has continuously increased,and is closely related to soil moisture anomalies in the northern Indian Peninsula(IDP)and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River(YRB).Numerical simulations further demonstrate that land–atmosphere coupling raises the risk of EHHE by 25.4%.In a typical El Niño SST background state,intensified land–atmosphere coupling tends to produce notable increases in the frequency of *** dominant processes that land–atmosphere coupling affects the EHHE variations are evidently different between these two *** surface thermal anomalies predominate in the IDP,while moisture conditions are more critical in the *** warm SST anomalies exist,dry soil anomalies in the IDP are prominent,and evaporation is constrained,increasing sensible heat *** geopotential height anomalies are significant,combined with adiabatic warming induced by descending motion and a noticeable warm center in the near-surface *** southward shift of the westerly jet enhances divergence over *** anticyclonic circulation anomalies over the western Pacific are conducive to guiding moisture transport to the YRB,providing a favorable circulation background for the development of summer EHHE.

With the rapid development of power electronic technology,many linear single-phase loads in low voltage systems are replaced by those equipped with a single-phase diode ***,most of single-phase loads become harmonic producers due to their nonlinear *** nonlinear loads may have different damping characteristics at harmonic frequencies,which could cause potential power quality *** paper studies the harmonic damping characteristics of such nonlinear *** harmonic damping index is defined to quantify the damping effect of nonlinear loads of harmonic frequencies by analyzing the harmonic ***,the harmonic damping index of different harmonic frequencies is compared through simulations and *** results show that the nonlinear load has a constant damping effect for the fundamental frequency,but a stronger damping for the harmonic *** harmonic damping of such nonlinear loads varies with the harmonic phase angle of supply voltage,and becomes stronger with the increase of the harmonic *** implies that this type of nonlinear load may be beneficial to the suppression of harmonic resonance.
