Recent methods have demonstrated that machine learning (ML) based static malware detection models are vulnerable to adversarial attacks. However, the generated malware often fails to generalize to production-level anti-malware software (AMS), as they usually involve multiple detection methods. This calls for universal solutions to the problem of malware variants generation. In this work, we demonstrate how the proposed method, MalwareTotal, has allowed malware variants to continue to abound in ML-based, signature-based, and hybrid anti-malware software. Given a malicious binary, we develop sequential bypass tactics that enable malicious behavior to be concealed within multi-faceted manipulations. Through 12 experiments on real-world malware, we demonstrate that an attacker can consistently bypass detection (98.67%, and 100% attack success rate against ML-based methods EMBER and MalConv, respectively;95.33%, 92.63%, and 98.52% attack success rate against production-level anti-malware software ClamAV, AMS A, and AMS B, respectively) without modifying the malware functionality. We further demonstrate that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art adversarial malware generation techniques both in attack success rate and query consumption (the number of queries to the target model). Moreover, the samples generated by our method have demonstrated transferability in the real-world integrated malware detector, VirusTotal. In addition, we show that common mitigation such as adversarial training on known attacks cannot effectively defend against the proposed attack. Finally, we investigate the value of the generated adversarial examples as a means of hardening victim models through an adversarial training procedure, and demonstrate that the accuracy of the retrained model against generated adversarial examples increases by 88.51 percentage points. © 2024 ACM.

In the paper, stability analysis of a class of incommensurate fractional-order systems (IFOS) is studied. These sufficient conditions are based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) and straightforwardly used to solve the feasible solutions with the LMI toolbox. Finally, two examples including a circuit example are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the comparison with the previous results shows that the proposed method is less conservative. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Optimal Assimilation of Microwave Upper-Level Sounding Data in CMA-GFS

Various approaches have been proposed to minimize the upper-level systematic biases in global numerical weather prediction(NWP)models by using satellite upper-air sounding channels as ***,since the China Meteorological Administration Global Forecast system(CMA-GFS)has a model top near 0.1 hPa(60 km),the upper-level temperature bias may exceed 4 K near 1 hPa and further extend to 5 *** this study,channels 12–14 of the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit A(AMSU-A)onboard five satellites of NOAA and METOP,whose weighting function peaks range from 10 to 2 hPa are all used as anchor observations in *** is shown that the new“Anchor”approach can effectively reduce the biases near the model top and their downward propagation in three-month assimilation *** bias growth rate of simulated upper-level channel observations is reduced to±0.001 K d^(–1),compared to–0.03 K d^(–1)derived from the current dynamic correction *** relatively stable bias significantly improves the upper-level analysis field and leads to better global medium-range forecasts up to 10 days with significant reductions in the temperature and geopotential forecast error above 10 hPa.

Recently,research on two-dimensional(2D)semiconductors has begun to translate from the fundamen-tal investigation into rudimentary functional *** this work,we unveil the first functional MoS2 artificial neural network(ANN)chip,including multiply-and-accumulate(MAC),memory and activation function *** MoS2 ANN chip is realized through fabricating 818 field-effect transistors(FETs)on a wafer-scale and high-homogeneity MoS2 film,with a gate-last process to realize top gate structured FETs.A 62-level simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis(SPICE)model is utilized to design and optimize our analog ANN *** demonstrate a practical application,a tactile digit sensing recognition was demonstrated based on our ANN *** training,the digit recognition rate exceeds 97%.Our work not only demonstrates the protentional of 2D semiconductors in wafer-scale inte-grated circuits,but also paves the way for its future application in AI computation.

The unipolar photocurrent in conventional photodiodes(PDs)based on photovoltaic effect limits the output modes and potential versatility of these devices in *** photodiodes with photocurrent switching are emerging as a promising solution for obtaining photoelectric devices with unique and attractive functions,such as optical logic ***,we design an all-solid-state chip-scale ultraviolet(UV)PD based on a hybrid GaN heterojunction with engineered bipolar polarized electric *** introducing the polarization-induced photocurrent switching effect,the photocurrent direction can be switched in response to the wavelength of incident light at 0 V *** particular,the photocurrent direction exhibits negative when the irradiation wavelength is less than 315 nm,but positive when the wavelength is longer than 315 *** device shows a responsivity of up to−6.7 mA/W at 300 nm and 5.3 mA/W at 340 nm,*** particular,three special logic gates in response to different dual UV light inputs are demonstrated via a single bipolar PD,which may be beneficial for future multifunctional UV photonic integrated devices and systems.

Gearbox fault diagnosis based on vibration sensing has drawn much attention for a long *** highly integrated complicated mechanical systems,the intercoupling of structure transfer paths results in a great reduction or even change of signal characteristics during the process of original vibration ***,using gearbox housing vibration signal to identify gear meshing excitation signal is of great significance to eliminate the influence of structure transfer paths,but accompanied by huge scientific *** paper establishes an analytical mathematical description of the whole transfer process from gear meshing excitation to housing *** gear meshing stiffness(GMS)identification approach is proposed by using housing vibration signals for two stages of inversion based on the mathematical ***,the linear system equations of transfer path analysis are first inverted to identify the bearing dynamic *** the dynamic differential equations are inverted to identify the *** simulation and experimental results demonstrate the proposed method can realize gear fault diagnosis better than the original housing vibration signal and has the potential to be generalized to other speeds and *** interesting properties are discovered in the identified GMS spectra,and the results also validate the rationality of using meshing stiffness to describe the actual gear meshing *** identified GMS has a clear physical meaning and is thus very useful for fault diagnosis of the complicated equipment.

hydrophilic hyperbranched polyester(poly(tetramethylol acetylenediurea(TA)-CO-succinyl chloride)(PTS))was proposed to be used as an organic additive in aqueous ZnSO_(4)electrolyte to achieve a highly reversible zinc/manganese oxide *** is found that the zinc symmetric battery based on the 2.0 wt.%PTS/ZnSO_(4)electrolyte showed a long cycle stability of more than 2400 h at 1.0 mA·cm^(-2),which is much longer than that including the blank ZnSO_(4)electrolyte(140 h).Furthermore,the capacity retention of the Zn||MnO_(2)full cells employing the 2.0 wt.%PTS/ZnSO_(4)electrolyte remained 85%after 100 cycles at 0.2 A·g^(1),which is much higher than 20%capacity retention of the cell containing the blank ZnSO_(4)electrolyte,and also greater than 59.6%capacity retention of the cell including the 10.0 wt.%TA/ZnSO_(4)*** using 2.0 wt.%PTS/ZnSO_(4)electrolytes,the capacity retention of the Zn||MnO_(2)full cells even reached 65%after 2000 cycles at a higher current density of 1.0 A·g^(1).It is further demonstrated that the PTS was firmly adsorbed on the zinc anode surface to form a protective layer.

Direct contact condensation (DCC) is widely occurred in nuclear power systems and leads to undesired phenomena such as condensation-induced water hammer. For ocean nuclear power ships, DCC is inevitable in the passive heat removal system and influenced by sea conditions. In this paper, the characteristics of DCC under rolling conditions are analyzed. The numerical model of DCC is established based on computational fluid dynamics approach. The VOF model, SST k–ω turbulence model and the additional inertia force model are incorporated to describe the liquid-gas two-phase flow under the rolling motion. The condensation model based on surface renewal theory (SRT) is used to simulate steam-water DCC phenomenon. The simulation results are compared with the experimental data and show reasonable agreement. The effects of rolling motion on DCC for steam injection into a horizontal pipe filled with cold water are numerically investigated. The results show that the additional inertial forces and the average condensation rate increase with the increase of the rolling angle and frequency. The reverse flow of the seawater induced by rolling motion leads to the accumulation of the steam at the lower part of the pipe, resulting in a large pressure pulse. With the increase of rolling angle and frequency, the pressure pulse induced by DCC increases. © 2023, The Author(s).

Natural radionuclides are powerful tools for understanding the sources and fate of suspended particulate matter(SPM).Particulate matter with different particle sizes behaves differently with respect to adsorption and *** analyzed the activi-ties and distribution characteristics of multiple natural radionuclides(238U,226Ra,40K,228Ra,7Be and 210Pbex)on size-fractionated SPM at the Lijin Hydrographic Station(Huanghe or Yellow River)every month over a one-year *** showed that medium silt(16–32µm)was the main *** expected,the activity of each radionuclide decreased with an increase of particle *** examined the sources of SPM with different particle sizes using activity ratios of 226Ra/238U,228Ra/226Ra,40K/238U and 7Be/210Pbex,and concluded that SPM with different particle sizes originated from different *** results indicate that fine SPM(<32µm)was mainly from the erosion of soil along the lower reaches of the Yellow River,while coarse SPM(>32µm)was mainly derived from resuspension of riverbed *** high runoff periods,the concentration of SPM increased significantly,and the pro-portion of fine particles originating upstream *** occurring radioactive isotopes,especially on size-fractionated par-ticles,are therefore seen as useful tracers to understand the sources and behaviors of riverine particles transported from land to sea.
