Large-space manipulations require robots can work in large or even infinite space. As for the robot manipulator, the large-space can be defined that the working range of the task exceeding the workspace of the manipulator. This paper proposes a large-space manipulation skill learning approach based on the mobile manipulator. In the skills extraction stage, the trajectories as well as the endpoint stiffness of the human arm are recorded simultaneously by using the motion and surface electromyogram (sEMG) capture devices. In the skills encoding stage, Gaussian Mixture Model and Gaussian Mixture Regression (GMM-GMR) approaches are applied to encode and reproduce the demonstrated skills. In the skills reproduction stage, the mobile manipulator platform with the developed weighted whole-body Cartesian impedance controller is used to reproduce the demonstrated large-space manipulation skills. The experiment results show that the mobile manipulator successfully inherits the human skills, and successively completes the large-space manipulation task. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Highly accurate photovoltaic (PV) power forecast technology can provide a scientific basis for grid planning to ensure safe, economical, and efficient grid operation. The investment cost for a specialized power prediction system for each PV plant is high. Consequently, a distributed PV (DPV) power forecast method based on affinity propagation (AP) clustering and transfer learning is proposed in this paper. First, the dynamic time warping (DTW) algorithm determines the similarity of power curves between DPV plants;on this basis, multiple DPV power plants in the area to be forecasted are divided into station clusters by using AP clustering;and the PV power plants in each station cluster are divided into source and target domain by transfer learning, combined with long-short term memory (LSTM) network, the power forecasting model is established, and enabling transfer of power models from source to target domain. Finally, data from 20 DPV plants in China are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach. Compared to separate modeling, the proposed method reduces the average training time by 58% while maintaining the forecasting accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Existing research on high-frequency oscillation indicates that the high-frequency oscillation during no-load charging of modular multilevel converter (MMC) station is primarily linked to time delay and the ground capacitance of AC lines. Nevertheless, a high-frequency oscillation around 2000 Hz has been observed in Rudong high voltage direct current project even when the AC lines are not connected. Except time delay, there still exists another key factor of the high-frequency oscillation, i.e., the transformer stray capacitance. This paper delves into the interaction among the dynamics of MMC station and the transformer. And the mechanism of high-frequency oscillation under no-load charging condition is determined. Firstly, the harmonic state space (HSS) model of MMC station considering the effect of stray capacitance is established. By plotting the eigenvalue trajectory, the essentiality of taking into account stray capacitance is elucidated. Subsequently, a simplified model is obtained by neglecting the dynamics of elements with low participation in the oscillation modes. Next, the mechanism of high-frequency oscillation is clarified according to impedance characteristics. Finally, the impact of proportional gain and shear frequency on small signal stability is revealed. The correctness and accuracy are identified by electromagnetic transient simulations. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.

A Regional Coupling Enhanced Omnidirectional Wireless Power Transfer system With Low-Fluctuation Regulation Strategy

Omnidirectional wireless power transfer (OWPT) systems can significantly enhance the charging freedom of the receiver (RC). Nevertheless, variations of RC position bring upon non-negligible output fluctuations, affecting the system stability and efficiency. Existing researches focus on the optimization of magnetic coupling structure (MCS) while being constrained by high control complexity. In this letter, a regional coupling enhanced OWPT system with low-fluctuation regulation strategy is proposed for consumer electronics products (CEP). Firstly, a MCS with self-decoupling multi-transmitter coils (TCs) of the OWPT system is discussed in detail. Secondly, a regulation strategy with high output stability and system efficiency under different working conditions is proposed, which requires only the adjustment of the input phase shift angle on the corresponding TC. Finally, a 100 V/100 kHz experimental prototype is built to validate the regulation strategy of the OWPT system. Experimental results show that the output voltage can be stabilized between 6.31V and 6.67V within a 90° rotational range, with a maximum fluctuation rate of 4.78% and the system efficiency is all over 76%. Meanwhile, in the planar region, the output voltage remains stable between 28.6V and 29.7V, with a maximum fluctuation rate of 3.79% and an average system efficiency of 86.9%. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Image preprocessing model plays an improvement role in accurately detecting objects in low-light or exposure-light images, because it can provide clear images for image detection models. An improved CycleGAN (ICGAN) model is presented to enhance low-light or exposure-light images in this paper. Under the framework of CycleGAN, a bidirectional attention mechanism is added to focus on object features area on images, and the convolutional structures are designed to enhance local perception ability before down sampling the feature maps. The ICGAN model is applied to preprocess the low-light or exposure-light surfaces images of hot-rolled steel strips. The experiment results show that compared with CGAN, the average gradient, the information entropy, and the PSNR index of ICGAN have been increased, but the SSIM index of ICGAN has been slightly reduced. © 2025 SPIE.

Accurate wind power forecast (WPF) is highly significant for the safe and economic operation of power systems, and implementing error correction is a common and effective manner to further enhance the forecasting performance. Nonetheless, existing error correction methods fail to consider temporal relationship and may inadvertently increase the error under certain circumstances, thereby compromising the local precision of forecast. In order to address these issues, this paper proposes an error correction model based on Seq2Seq and auto encoder (AE) to improve forecasting accuracy. Firstly, the seq2seq with attention mechanism is introduced to infer the probable error sequence through learning the temporal relationship between the numerical weather prediction sequence and the actual error sequence. Secondly, the samples that the seq2seq providing a positive error inference are collected and the AE model is employed to extract the meteorological features at these moments. Finally, on the basis of the above two models, the error correction method is constructed consisting of preliminary error inference and posterior correction determination. Using operational data from Ningxia province, the proposed method is validated for its remarkable superiority based on the evaluation metrics. © 2024 IEEE.
