With a large number of new components and new technologies widely used in power system, the method of power equipment outage probability based on law of large number will no longer be applicable due to the lack of statistical data. This paper considers the high order uncertainty of component failure probability under the condition of small sample size and uses interval values to represent the reliability parameters of the component when carrying out the risk assessment of power system, and propose Belief Universal Generating Function by combining Universal Generating Function with Belief Function Theory. This method can effectively avoid over estimation in interval arithmetic and get a more accurate interval value of power system risk assessment index.

The thermal rating of the overhead conductor is closely related to meteorological factors such as wind speed, wind direction, ambient temperature and solar radiation. Therefore, both the historical thermal ratings and meteorological data are alternative input data to predict the thermal rating of the overhead conductor. It is important to select suitable input data to improve the prediction accuracy of the prediction results. Based on the collection of micro-meteorological data from overhead line monitoring system, this paper presents a method to determine the input data for the thermal rating prediction by analysing the autocorrelation of overhead thermal ratings and the cross-correlation between thermal rating and historical micrometeorological data. The results show that the proposed method can provide reference information for the selection of predictive input quantities and prediction time domain.

Femtosecond laser with wave length of 800 nm was used to perform percussion drilling experiment on nickel-based alloy with thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) in order to eliminate the damages caused by conventional drilling. Analysis of the experimental results indicated that short pulse duration and high peak power characteristics of femtosecond laser led to good processing effect on nickel-based alloy with TBCs. High quality array of holes with the taper of almost zero was generated, for which the inner diameter was 162 μm and the aspect ratio was 15:1. Femtosecond laser processing had little influence on elementary components and phase structure of coating. This study provides feasible technique involving the use of femtosecond laser for machining film cooling hole on nickel-based alloy with TBCs.
