The increasing integration of high penetration of wind power into power systems have created great challenges for stable operation of the power system. It is important to design a reasonable demand response scheme (DRS) to make decision the optimal load relief, specially, for the wind power suppliers (WPS) and their customers (WPSC). Therefore, this paper proposes a demand response scheme for wind integrated power system based on mechanism design theory. Firstly, we derive the outage cost function and incentive function modeled by the two variables: the customers' type parameter and the location value. Secondly, incorporate customers' type parameter and locational flexibility into the DRS, and based on game theory, a demand response scheme with incentive compatible constraint and participation constraint is designed to maximize the benefit both the wind power suppliers and their customers. The implication of demand response scheme is to design an incentive structure that encourages customers to sign up for the right scheme and reveal their true value of load reduction. Finally, the eight-bus system example can demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper comes up with a concept of synergetic advanced dispatch in order to deal with the ever-increasing uncertainty in power grid: Decision is made with respecting to AGC units and active load on the basis of synergetic unit combination such that active load’s advantages in regulation speed is put to full use in achieving efficient cooperation with renewable energy power. Meanwhile, factoring in allowable frequency variation range during decision-making may help to reduce AGC units’ regulation load and improve power grid's capacity of accommodating renewable energy power. Calculation example analysis suggested that the model and technique presented in this paper is capable of efficient coordination between active loads and renewable energy power, delivering friendly transition with day-ahead dispatch and AVC control.

A new interpretation of commutation failure risk, considering the circuit topology when commutation, is presented in this paper. The basic idea is to compare the difference of commutation angle of the relevant inverter after a new HVDC system is constructed. The equivalent circuit is indicated to deduce and derive the commutation angle. Then analysis on the impact factor of commutation angle is carried out. As a result, the equivalent commutation impedance of the relevant inverter is proved to increase, and so is the commutation angle. Hence the risks of commutation failure are enlarged. Validated by case studies in PSCAD/EMTDC, the presented interpretation is confirmed.

The cooperative robust output regulation problem for a class of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems with an exactly known exosystem has been studied recently. This paper further studies the same problem for a class of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems subject to an unknown exosystem. We first show that the problem can be converted into the adaptive stabilization problem for a modified augmented system composed of the given multi-agent system and the distributed internal model. Due to the uncertain parameter in the exosystem, the augmented system is a nonlinear multi-input system with both dynamic and static uncertainties. By combining the adaptive control technique and the robust control technique, we solve our problem by a distributed adaptive robust state feedback controller.

The symmetric positive-definite(SPD) matrices form a Riemannian manifold, and sparse representation on the SPD matrix manifold has received increasingly attentions recently. In this paper, we propose a semantic and neighborhood preserving dictionary learning method for the sparse representation on the SPD matrix manifold. The semantic preserving ensures that the semantic similarity information can be kept while sparse representation, and the neighborhood preserving is introduced to better reflect the geometrical structure of the manifold. To effectively model the semantic similarity of the SPD matrices and the geometrical structure, a Laplacian smooth operator is incorporated into the objective function of dictionary *** the learned dictionary, the obtained sparse representations of SPD matrices are more discriminative. Experimental results on publicly available datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
