In order to resolve shadow interference and slow image processing speed in the visual navigation of unmanned vehicles on city roads, a new lane detection algorithm based on the Inverse Perspective Mapping(IPM) of vertical sub-image reconstruction using local bands was proposed. The lane’s IPM aerial image was obtained using the projective transformation of three-dimensional images of city roads. The ROI portion of the IPM map was decomposed and analyzed using the sym3 wavelet, and after analyzing and comparing the experimental results the first and second levels of the vertical sub images were selected for the reconstruction, compression, and removal of shadows from the original image. The Canny algorithm was proposed and adopted in order to extract the edge features of the reconstructed images according to real-time road image quality. A modified, polar angle, constraint-based, fast Hough transform was used to locate the candidate lanes. Finally, the main control point, straight-line-fitting algorithm was used to fit the final lanes, which achieved the precise location and recognition of the lane lines. The California Polytechnic lane data set, a public data platform, which is now widely used in road visual recognition fields around the world, was selected for the testing and verification of the algorithm. The results of the experiment and actual operation indicated that, despite having a storage space of approximately one tenth the size of similar algorithms, this detection algorithm effectively solves the issue of shadow removal, meets the real-time requirements of roadway image processing systems for unmanned vehicles with a recognition time of less than 20ms, and is robust. © 2016 SERSC.

Solar power is a kind of clean and renewable energy, which can be utilized in the industrial micro-grid as an effective approach to decrease energy costs and reduce the emission of greenhouse. However, the uncertainty of solar power together with the limit of thermal power units' adjustment ability will bring a great challenge to keeping balance of power demand and supply. In this paper, the storage is introduced to industrial micro-grid that aims at mitigating the fluctuation of gateway flow. Since uncertainty exists, how to minimize energy costs considering the uncertainty becomes a great problem. So an economic dispatch model of industrial micro-grid based on scenario tree is established. With the simulation data taken into the model in the paper, the results show that the energy cost decrease 4.79% with solar power and decrease 0.87% with storage, which indicate that the thermal power cost can be decreased largely by utilizing solar power and storage, and the fluctuation of solar power and load can be mitigated by generation and production schedule effectively.

On the account of more and more inevitable scene of angled space crossed transmission line in real project, classical distribution parameter model is no longer applicable, and coupling effect between two lines needs to be reconsidered. This paper popularizes mutual impedance from limited conductor to angled space crossed lines, and analyses the characteristic of mutual impedance coefficient along the line. Based on the segmented nominal-π line model, in which mutual impedance of each section is obtained by Neuman's Integral, the location equation is derived by utilizing the feature that the voltages calculated from two sides are equal at the fault point. Simulations in PSCAD compare the differences of fault-location results between in the condition of considering and ignoring coupling effect of space crossed transmission lines. The calculation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has higher accuracy, and is not affected by fault types.

Internet inquiry is playing an increasingly important role as the complement of the traditional medical service system, especially the similar cases recommendation. It can not only save the patients' waiting time, but also make use of the historical resources, for many cases with the same purpose have been solved perfectly. However, because of the diversity and non-standard of the patients' descriptions, the inquiry platform cannot find the cases with similar semantic easily. Most traditional retrieval methods require the overlap of two sentences, and this is not suitable with the diversity and non-standard descriptions. In this paper, we try to utilize the sentences' semantic representation in a continuous space to understand the cases, and then recommend the similar cases. We also incorporate it into query likelihood language models, trying to get better results. Our experimental data are all collected from a real internet inquiry platform, and the results show that our methods significantly outperform the state-of-the-art translation based methods for similar cases recommendation.

Aiming at the hybrid wind-PV system planning problem, a optimization model of installed capacity is proposed in this paper with the constraint of main transformer. Firstly, to account for the stochastic nature of wind and solar resource, by use of ARMA model and Fuzzy C-means(FCM) algorithm, a full-year time series models of wind power, photovoltaic(PV) power are presented. Then, using main transformer utilization, the complementarity of wind and solar energy resource is quantified. And based on the chance-constrained programming, the calculation models are respectively built for two common kinds of planning problem. With an actual case in Shandong province, the problems of wind and solar accommodation and the optimal proportion are calculated and analyzed. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving the renewable energy resource utilization.

During a process of energy transaction in electricity market, in order to ensure electrical safety and prevent excessively quick growth of electricity price, the concept of contract for difference (CfD) is introduced. Considering the electricity characteristics of large consumers, this paper is in the views of both generators and large consumers which sign CfDs with Grid Corporation respectively, but the signed CfDs only set rules for contract price and total contract energy in settlement period. Because market prices are different at different period, the total contract energy should be decomposed to each period for settlement of CfDs. So a CfD energy decomposition model, whose objective is to maximize social benefit, is built to settle the CfDs at each period. After running the model, the optimal result which means maximal social benefit is obtained and it is 28.1% more than that by average decomposition.

Microswimmers capable of propulsion at low Reynolds numbers have great potential for numerous applications. Several kinds of artificial microswimmers, actuated by magnetic fields, with rigid helical tails have been developed. In previous works, we demonstrated that a magnetic swimmer with a soft tail could form a helical shape during rotation to propel itself at low Reynolds numbers. The advantage of compliant structures is that the high softness makes swimmers more adaptive in confined or complex environments. The interfacial friction drags are reduced by using superhydrophobic surfaces. Therefore, this paper aims to study the influence of surface and interface properties, particularly the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the soft tail surface, on the swimming performance. For this, we compared the swimming performance of two millimeter-scaled swimmers with a superhydrophilic soft tail and a superhydrophobic soft tail, respectively, in viscous liquids. The two swimmers exhibit different dynamic morphologies and swimming performance with the same input parameters. The swimmer with a superhydrophobic soft tail shows higher swimming velocity than that with a superhydrophilic soft tail, except in pure glycerol. The present work provides useful informations for selecting surface coating of swimmers with soft tails at low Reynolds numbers. © 2016 IEEE.

Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology has shown its potential in the field of indoor positioning in recent years,and has been widely used in large establishments such as the airport lobby,supermarkets,libraries,underground parking and so ***,the complexity of the indoor environments make positioning a challenging problem in terms of accuracy,stability,reliability,and interference *** this paper,we develop an algorithm of passive RFID indoor positioning based on interval Kalman filter,according to the geometric constraints of responding tags,combined with the target motion *** interval Kalman filter is adopted to integrate target position of one preceding time point and reference tags position to estimate the current *** of this algorithm is to use passive tags to reduce hardware costs,and on the other hand the introduction of filtering algorithm improves the positioning accuracy.

This paper proposes a new method for short-term load forecasting based on the similar day method, correlation coefficient and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to achieve the precision analysis of load variation from three aspects (typical day, correlation coefficient, spectral analysis) and three dimensions (time dimension, industry dimensions, the main factors influencing the load characteristic such as national policies, regional economic, holidays, electricity and so on). First, the branch algorithm one-class-SVM is adopted to selection the typical day. Second, correlation coefficient method is used to obtain the direction and strength of the linear relationship between two random variables, which can reflect the influence caused by the customer macro policy and the scale of production to the electricity price. Third, Fourier transform residual error correction model is proposed to reflect the nature of load extracting from the residual error. Finally, simulation result indicates the validity and engineering practicability of the proposed method.

This paper works on developing an algorithm based on support vector machines (SVM) which can automatically analyze, characterize, and classify a fault based on its root cause. Only single-phase grounding faults caused by external factors including lightning faults, wildfires faults, guano-caused flashovers, insulator contamination flashovers, object contacts and vehicle accidents are considered in this paper. From detailed analysis of the fault mechanisms and the waveforms of fault recorders, six influential factors are selected to characterize the six types of outages as follows: weather, season, time of day, DC component and high-frequency harmonic component in the zero sequence current and fault impedance magnitude. Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is used for the analysis the frequency components of the fault phase voltage and current waveforms. The combination of these characteristics are used for training and testing the SVM architecture. In addition, genetic algorithm is applied to the SVM classifier to determine the optimal parametric settings which is proved that it can achieve higher classification accuracy. Successful testing of the proposed methodology proves its validity for identification of different fault reason types.
