In recent years, a large number of distributed resources are connected to the distribution grid, causing frequent fluctuation of net load at each point of the feeder. Such fluctuations bring great difficulties to technical loss calculation. To conquer this problem, this paper proposes a fast calculation method of technical loss of distribution networks based on typical equivalent load distribution curves. First, the equivalent load distribution curve is defined, and the method of establishing the equivalent load distribution curve is given. Then, the k-means algorithm based on the Pearson correlation coefficient is used to cluster the equivalent load distribution curves of feeders under various operating conditions. Moreover, this paper determines the typical equivalent load distribution. Finally, when the load and distributed generation are given, the correlation coefficient between the load and the typical equivalent load distribution is determined according to the corresponding equivalent load distribution curve, and the line loss estimation result can be quickly obtained by using the two typical load distribution curves with the strongest correlation. The proposed method is tested on IEEE 33 node distribution system. Simulation results indicate the proposed method can estimate the technical loss rapidly in a large range within a certain error range. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to achieve the goal of "double carbon", it is urgent to build a new power system with new energy as the main body. It is vital for the construction and planning of new power system to reasonably optimize the installed ratio of various power supplies. To this end, this paper proposes a capacity allocation optimization method of multi energy power system based on complementary equilibrium theory, and establishes the capacity optimization models of multi-energy system such as wind power, thermal power, nuclear power and energy storage with the objective of minimizing the operation cost of the whole network. The model adopts the load characteristics, the output characteristics of new energy and the operation characteristics of energy storage power stations in the target power grid. The annual output time series of wind/photovoltaic and the load series are used as the input of the model. Through the annual time series production simulation calculation, the optimal capacity ratio of wind-photovoltaic-thermal-nuclear-storage system is determined to meet the conditions. Finally, a regional power grid in China is demonstrated as an example to verify the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed model and method. © 2022 IEEE.

Given the remarkable achievements of existing learning-based malware detection in both academia and industry, this paper presents MalGuise, a practical black-box adversarial attack framework that evaluates the security risks of existing learning-based Windows malware detection systems under the black-box setting. MalGuise first employs a novel semantics-preserving transformation of call-based redividing to concurrently manipulate both nodes and edges of malware's control-flow graph, making it less noticeable. By employing a Monte-Carlo-tree-search-based optimization, MalGuise then searches for an optimized sequence of call-based redividing transformations to apply to the input Windows malware for evasions. Finally, it reconstructs the adversarial malware file based on the optimized transformation sequence while adhering to Windows executable format constraints, thereby maintaining the same semantics as the original. MalGuise is systematically evaluated against three state-of-the-art learning-based Windows malware detection systems under the black-box setting. Evaluation results demonstrate that MalGuise achieves a remarkably high attack success rate, mostly exceeding 95%, with over 91% of the generated adversarial malware files maintaining the same semantics. Furthermore, MalGuise achieves up to a 74.97% attack success rate against five anti-virus products, highlighting potential tangible security concerns to real-world users.

The ± 500 kV Yongren-Funing HVDC transmission project is the first HVDC whose sending and receiving ends are both located in the same province, its inverter station is required to transmit power to different AC asynchronous grids according to the different requirements of the grid operation. The present control and protection system of HVDC cannot adapt to and meet the technical requirements of multiple power transmission modes. In order to achieve this goal, the control system of HVDC must be capable of automatic discrimination and sequential control, selecting the correct strategy of reactive power control (RPC), which is essential for the stable operation of the HVDC system. Therefore, based on the operating conditions of the HVDC system and the switch configuration of the AC switch yard of the inverter station, the principle, process and interlocking conditions of automatic switching between different transmission modes are systematically analyzed. Effects on RPC, last breaker and the over voltage protection of AC busbar are researched. The control strategies for multiple transmission modes have great significance for the similar HVDC/UHVDC transmission projects in the future. © 2022 IEEE.

What External Knowledge is Preferred by LLMs? Characterizing and Exploring Chain of Evidence in Imperfect Context

Incorporating external knowledge into large language models (LLMs) has emerged as a promising approach to mitigate outdated knowledge and hallucination in LLMs. However, external knowledge is often imperfect. In addition to useful knowledge, external knowledge is rich in irrelevant or misinformation in the context that can impair the reliability of LLM responses. This paper focuses on LLMs’ preferred external knowledge in imperfect contexts when handling multi-hop QA. Inspired by criminal procedural law’s Chain of Evidence (CoE), we characterize that knowledge preferred by LLMs should maintain both relevance to the question and mutual support among knowledge pieces. Accordingly, we propose an automated CoE discrimination approach and explore LLMs’ preferences from their effectiveness, faithfulness and robustness, as well as CoE’s usability in a naive Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) case. The evaluation on five LLMs reveals that CoE enhances LLMs through more accurate generation, stronger answer faithfulness, better robustness against knowledge conflict, and improved performance in a popular RAG case. © 2024, CC BY.

At present, blockchain is not only applied in the financial field, but also extended to the medical, insurance, internet of things, and many other fields. Its independence leads to more and more significant problems of network isolation. To address the problem of the cooperative operation between different blockchains, this article proposes virtual chain, a storage model supporting cross-blockchain transaction. It not only ensures that cross-chain transactions are tamper-proof and traceable but also realizes completely decentralized storage. First, to tackle the multidimensional heterogeneous problem existing in cross-chain trading, a data structure based on prefix tree is proposed to manage cross-chain trading data on top of source chain and target chain. Second, a signature verification mechanism based on elliptic curve is proposed to meet the operational atomicity requirements of both parties of cross-chain transaction. Third, the data fusion technology is used to expand the block capacity indirectly to achieve the high throughput of cross-chain transactions. Finally, by using the credibility-based access control and block chain technology to ensure the security of the data storage model, and conduct security analysis from three aspects of tamper-proof, data protection and anti-conspiracy node attack. The experiment shows that the proposed cross-chain transaction storage model can realize the efficient storage of the heterogeneous data, and satisfy the high requirement of the cross-chain transaction. Moreover, the virtual chain storage model establishes a safe and reliable working environment. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

In order to enhance the efficiency of port operations, ensure port safety and improve port water traffic supervision, a semantic model of tugboat behavior in port waters is proposed. This model includes a tugboat navigation behavior semantic recognition model and a tugboat assistance behavior semantic recognition model. The semantic model of tugboat behavior is established by analyzing the behavior characteristics of port tugboats in terms of time, space, semantics, motion characteristics, and association characteristics. This includes constructing an object model, constructing a tugboat behavior relationship model, and modeling tugboat behavior semantics. Based on the established semantic model of tugboat behavior, corresponding recognition algorithms are designed. The recognition algorithm designed based on the semantic model of tugboats is verified by using Shenzhen Yantian Port as the experimental water. The results show that the semantic model of tug behavior in the port area can effectively identify tug navigation behavior and tug assistance behavior, which greatly improves port operation efficiency and supervision efficiency. Overall, the proposed semantic model of tugboat behavior in port waters is a significant step towards improving port safety and efficiency. It provides a comprehensive and reliable method of analyzing tugboat behavior, which can help identify potential problems early and implement solutions promptly. © 2023 IEEE.

A proposed obstacle avoidance trajectory planning method for autonomous vehicles considers social behavior characteristics to address the interaction problem with human drivers in mixed traffic environments. The method integrates graph theory and centrality functions to classify and predict driver behavior, employing model predictive control (MPC) to plan the autonomous vehicle's trajectory. By combining these social behaviors, the method ensures safe completion of the driving task based on probability. Experimental results from an interactive obstacle avoidance scenario in a curved environment confirm the successful completion of the task, validating the proposed method's feasibility and effectiveness, supporting its potential for real-world application.

There is a big gap between theoretical research and practical application of reference network planning. Most of the existing planning models in academic research take cost as the objective function. Although various advanced models and methods are proposed based on this, they are rarely applied in actual power companies. In this paper, a new reference network planning model is proposed according to the actual demand. According to the field investigation, "power supply to the nearest load" is taken as the goal, and the load moment is expressed analytically. In order to meet the increasing demand of renewable energy integrating into the power grid, the concept of acceptable disturbance range is added to the model constraint to improve the system's absorption capacity of renewable energy. Finally, the N-1 security constraint is considered to improve the reliability of the model. The model is transformed into a mixed integer linear programming (MILP)problem by priority objective programming method and can be solved with mature commercial solvers. The validity of the model is verified by IEEE-RTS24 node system. When N-1 safety constraints are taken into account, the advantages of the proposed model become apparent, with a total cost reduction of about 2.5%.

Repairing Catastrophic-Neglect in Text-to-Image Diffusion Models via Attention-Guided Feature Enhancement

Text-to-Image Diffusion Models (T2I DMs) have garnered significant attention for their ability to generate high-quality images from textual descriptions. However, these models often produce images that do not fully align with the input prompts, resulting in semantic inconsistencies. The most prominent issue among these semantic inconsistencies is catastrophic-neglect, where the images generated by T2I DMs miss key objects mentioned in the prompt. We first conduct an empirical study on this issue, exploring the prevalence of catastrophic-neglect, potential mitigation strategies with feature enhancement, and the insights gained. Guided by the empirical findings, we propose an automated repair approach named Patcher to address catastrophic-neglect in T2I DMs. Specifically, Patcher first determines whether there are any neglected objects in the prompt, and then applies attention-guided feature enhancement to these neglected objects, resulting in a repaired prompt. Experimental results on three versions of Stable Diffusion demonstrate that Patcher effectively repairs the issue of catastrophic-neglect, achieving 10.1%-16.3% higher Correct Rate in image generation compared to baselines. © 2024, CC BY.
